| 10 | Car Dieu n'est pas injuste, pour oublier votre oeuvre, et le travail de la charité que vous avez témoigné pour son Nom, en ce que vous avez secouru les Saints, et que vous les secourez encore. | for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister. | Dio infatti non è ingiusto da dimenticare l'opera vostra e la fatica d'amore che avete mostrato per il suo nome, con i servizi che avete reso e rendete tuttora ai santi. |

| 13 | Car lorsque Dieu fit la promesse à Abraham, parce qu'il ne pouvait point jurer par un plus grand, il jura par lui-même, | For when God made promise to Abraham, since he could swear by none greater, he sware by himself, | Quando Dio infatti fece la promessa ad Abrahamo, siccome non poteva giurare per nessuno maggiore, giurò per se stesso, |
| 14 | En disant: certes je te bénirai abondamment, et je te multiplierai merveilleusement. | saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee. | dicendo Certo, ti benedirò e ti moltiplicherò grandemente. |
| 15 | Et ainsi Abraham ayant attendu patiemment, obtint ce qui lui avait été promis. | And thus, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise. | E così, Abrahamo, avendo aspettato con pazienza, ottenne la promessa. |
| 16 | Car les hommes jurent par un plus grand qu'eux, et le serment qu'ils font pour confirmer leur parole, met fin à tous leurs différends. | For men swear by the greater: and in every dispute of theirs the oath is final for confirmation. | Gli uomini infatti ben giurano per uno maggiore, e così per loro il giuramento è la garanzia che pone termine ad ogni contestazione. |
| 17 | C'est pourquoi Dieu voulant faire mieux connaître aux héritiers de la promesse la fermeté immuable de son conseil, il y a fait intervenir le serment: | Wherein God, being minded to show more abundantly unto the heirs of the promise the immutability of his counsel, interposed with an oath; | Così Dio, volendo dimostrare agli eredi della promessa più chiaramente l'immutabilità del suo consiglio, intervenne con un giuramento |
| 18 | Afin que par deux choses immuables, dans lesquelles il est impossible que Dieu trompe, nous ayons une ferme consolation, nous qui avons notre refuge à obtenir l'accomplissement de l'espérance qui nous est proposée; | that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us: | affinché per mezzo di due cose immutabili, nelle quali è impossibile che Dio abbia mentito, avessimo un grande incoraggiamento noi, che abbiamo cercato rifugio nell'afferrare saldamente la speranza che ci è stata messa davanti. |
| 19 | Et laquelle nous tenons comme une ancre sûre et ferme de l'âme, et qui pénètre jusqu'au-dedans du voile, | which we have as an anchor of the soul, [a hope] both sure and stedfast and entering into that which is within the veil; | Questa speranza che noi abbiamo è come un'ancora sicura e ferma della nostra vita, e che penetra fin nell'interno del velo. |
