Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.Let us fear therefore, lest haply, a promise being left of entering into his rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.Perciò, poiché rimane ancora una promessa di entrare nel suo riposo, abbiamo timore perché qualcuno di voi non ne resti escluso.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.For indeed we have had good tidings preached unto us, even as also they: but the word of hearing did not profit them, because it was not united by faith with them that heard.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.For we who have believed do enter into that rest; even as he hath said, As I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.For he hath said somewhere of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God rested on the seventh day from all his works;In qualche luogo infatti, a proposito del settimo giorno, egli disse così: E Dio si riposò nel settimo giorno da tutte le sue opere;
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.and in this [place] again, They shall not enter into my rest.e ancora in questo passo: Non entreranno nel mio riposo.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:Seeing therefore it remaineth that some should enter thereinto, and they to whom the good tidings were before preached failed to enter in because of disobedience,Poiché dunque rimane per alcuni di entrarvi, mentre quelli a cui prima fu annunziata la buona novella non vi entrarono a motivo della loro incredulità,
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.he again defineth a certain day, To-day, saying in David so long a time afterward (even as hath been said before), To-day if ye shall hear his voice, Harden not your hearts.egli determina di nuovo un giorno: Oggi dicendo dopo tanto tempo, come è stato detto prima per mezzo di Davide: Oggi, se udite la sua voce, non indurite i vostri cuori.
For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.For if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken afterward of another day.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.There remaineth therefore a sabbath rest for the people of God.Resta dunque un riposo di sabato per il popolo di Dio.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.Let us therefore give diligence to enter into that rest, that no man fall after the same example of disobedience.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.And there is no creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.E non vi è alcuna creatura nascosta davanti a lui, ma tutte le cose sono nude e scoperte agli occhi di colui al quale dobbiamo rendere conto.
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.Having then a great high priest, who hath passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help [us] in time of need.
