| 1 | And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. | Israël donc partit avec tout ce qui lui appartenait, et vint à Béer-Sébah, et il offrit des sacrifices au Dieu de son père Isaac. |

| 3 | And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: | Et Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu Fort, le Dieu de ton père; ne crains point de descendre en Egypte: car je t'y ferai devenir une grande nation. |
| 4 | I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. | Je descendrai avec toi en Egypte, et je t'en ferai aussi très-certainement remonter; et Joseph mettra sa main sur tes yeux. |
| 5 | And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. | Ainsi Jacob partit de Béer-Sébah, et les enfants d'Israël mirent Jacob leur père, et leurs petits enfants, et leurs femmes, sur les chariots que Pharaon avait envoyés pour le porter. |

| 29 | And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen, and presented himself unto him; and he fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while. | Et Joseph fit atteler son chariot, et monta pour aller au-devant d'Israël son père en Goscen. Il se fit voir à lui; il se jeta sur son cou, et pleura quelque temps sur son cou. |
| 30 | And Israel said unto Joseph, Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, because thou art yet alive. | Et Israël dit à Joseph: Que je meure à présent, puisque j'ai vu ton visage, et que tu vis encore. |
| 31 | And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house, I will go up, and shew Pharaoh, and say unto him, My brethren, and my father's house, which were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me; | Puis Joseph dit à ses frères et à la famille de son père: Je remonterai, et ferai savoir à Pharaon, et je lui dirai: Mes frères et la famille de mon père, qui étaient au pays de Canaan, sont venus vers moi. |
| 32 | And the men are shepherds, for their trade hath been to feed cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have. | Et ces hommes sont bergers, et se sont toujours mêlés de bétail, et ils ont amené leurs brebis et leurs boeufs, et tout ce qui était à eux. |
| 33 | And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say, What is your occupation? | Or il arrivera que Pharaon vous fera appeler, et vous dira: Quel est votre métier? |
| 34 | That ye shall say, Thy servants' trade hath been about cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and also our fathers: that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians. | Et vous direz: Tes serviteurs se sont toujours mêlés de bétail dès leur jeunesse jusqu'à maintenant, tant nous, que nos pères; afin que vous demeuriez en la contrée de Goscen; car les Egyptiens ont en abomination les bergers. |
