| 1 | Or, Adam connut Ève sa femme, et elle conçut, et enfanta Caïn (conquérir, envahir, usurper), et fascinée elle dit: J'ai acquis un homme qui est Dieu. | And the man knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man with [the help of] Jehovah. | Ora Adamo conobbe Eva sua moglie, la quale concepì e partorì Caino, e disse: Ho acquistato un uomo, dall'Eterno. |
| 2 | Elle enfanta encore son frère Abel qu'elle considérait insignifiant; et Abel (renoncement, soumission, abaissement) dirigeait la conversion des êtres vivants, mais Caïn gardait les hommes sous l'esclavage. | And again she bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. | Poi partorì ancora Abele, suo fratello. E Abele divenne pastore di greggi; mentre Caino divenne lavoratore della terra. |
| 3 | Or, au bout de quelque temps, Caïn proposa la délivrance des hommes en offrande à l'Éternel; | And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto Jehovah. | Col passare del tempo, avvenne che Caino fece un'offerta di frutti della terra all'Eterno; |
| 4 | Et Abel présenta, le droit d'aînesse de la conversion et de son enrichissement. Et l'Éternel eut égard à Abel, et à son offrande; | And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And Jehovah had respect unto Abel and to his offering: | Ora Abele offerse anch'egli dei primogeniti del suo gregge e il loro grasso. E l'Eterno riguardò Abele e la sua offerta, |
| 5 | Mais il n'eut point égard à Caïn, ni à son offrande; et Caïn s'enflamma de colère, et sa présence fut disgraciée (NAPHAL). | but unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. | ma non riguardò Caino e la sua offerta. Così Caino ne fu molto irritato, e il suo viso ne fu abbattuto. |
| 6 | Et l'Éternel dit à Caïn: Voici tu t'es enflammé, et ainsi ta présence est rejetée (NAPHAL). | And Jehovah said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? | Allora l'Eterno disse a Caino: Perché sei tu irritato e perché è il tuo volto abbattuto? |
| 7 | Si tu fais bien, ta présence ne sera-t-elle pas restaurée? Mais, si tu ne fais pas bien, le péché est couché à la porte, et son désir devient le tien; et toi, tu en seras le maître | If thou doest well, shall it not be lifted up? and if thou doest not well, sin coucheth at the door: and unto thee shall be its desire, but do thou rule over it. | Se fai bene non sarai tu accettato? Ma se fai male, il peccato sta spiandoti alla porta e i suoi desideri sono volti a te; ma tu lo devi dominare. |
| 8 | Et Caïn parla à Abel, son frère. Et comme ils étaient dans l’expansion de leur existence, Caïn s'éleva contre Abel son frère, et le tua. | And Cain told Abel his brother. And it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. | E Caino parlò con suo fratello Abele; quando furono nei campi, Caino si levò contro suo fratello Abele e lo uccise. |
| 9 | Et l'Éternel dit à Caïn: Où est Abel ton frère? Et il répondit: Je ne sais; suis-je le gardien de mon frère, moi? | And Jehovah said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: am I my brother`s keeper? | Allora l'Eterno disse a Caino: Dov'è tuo fratello Abele?. Egli rispose: Non lo so; sono io forse il custode di mio fratello?. |
| 10 | Et l'Éternel dit: Qu'as-tu fait? La voix du sang de ton frère crie de la terre jusqu'à moi. | And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother`s blood crieth unto me from the ground. | L'Eterno disse: Che hai tu fatto? La voce del sangue di tuo fratello grida a me dalla terra. |
| 11 | Et maintenant tu seras exilé de la terre, qui a ouvert sa bouche pour recevoir de ta main le sang de ton frère. | And now cursed art thou from the ground, which hath opened its mouth to receive thy brother`s blood from thy hand; | E ora tu sei più maledetto della terra che ha aperto la sua bocca per ricevere il sangue di tuo fratello dalla tua mano. |
| 12 | Quand tu exploiteras la terre, elle ne te rendra plus son fruit; tu seras vagabond et fugitif de la terre. | when thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee its strength; a fugitive and a wanderer shalt thou be in the earth. | Quando coltiverai il suolo, esso non ti darà più i suoi prodotti, e tu sarai vagabondo e fuggiasco sulla terra. |
| 13 | Et Caïn dit à l'Éternel: Ma peine est trop grande pour être supportée. | And Cain said unto Jehovah, My punishment is greater than I can bear. | Allora Caino disse all'Eterno: Il mio castigo è troppo grande perché io lo possa sopportare. |
| 14 | Voici, tu m'as chassé aujourd'hui de la présence de l'homme, et je serai soustrait de devant ta présence, et je serai vagabond et fugitif de la terre; et il arrivera que quiconque me trouvera, me tuera. | Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the ground; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a wanderer in the earth; and it will come to pass, that whosoever findeth me will slay me. | Ecco, tu mi scacci oggi dalla faccia di questo suolo e sarò nascosto dalla tua faccia; e sarò vagabondo e fuggiasco per la terra, e avverrà che chiunque mi troverà mi ucciderà. |
| 15 | Et l'Éternel lui dit: C'est pourquoi, si quelqu'un tue Caïn, Caïn sera vengé sept fois. Et l'Éternel mit à Caïn une marque prodigieuse, afin que quiconque le trouverait ne le tuât point. | And Jehovah said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And Jehovah appointed a sign for Cain, lest any finding him should smite him. | L'Eterno gli disse: Perciò, chiunque ucciderà Caino, egli sarà punito sette volte. E l'Eterno mise un segno su Caino affinché nessuno trovandolo, lo uccidesse. |
| 16 | Alors Caïn renonça à la présence de l'Éternel, et habita dans l'astre errant de Nod (errer, planète), et s'éleva contre la Grâce de Dieu. | And Cain went out from the presence of Jehovah, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. | Allora Caino si allontanò dalla presenza dell'Eterno e dimorò nel paese di Nod, ad est di Eden. |
| 17 | Puis, en ce lieu, Caïn réalisa son existence, qui conçut et engendra une initiation à une nouvelle naissance; et il érigea une vengeance terrible contre Dieu, qu'il appela Hénoc, du nom de sa condition de disgrâce | And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. | E Caino conobbe sua moglie, ed ella concepì e partorì Enok. Poi Caino costruì una città, a cui diede nome Enok, dal nome di suo figlio. |
| 18 | Puis Irad (la séquestration) naquit à Hénoc, et Irad engendra Mehujaël (affligé de Dieu), et Mehujaël engendra Methushaël (l'homme divinisé), et Methushaël engendra Lémec (le renversement de l'être). | And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methushael; and Methushael begat Lamech. | E a Enok nacque Irad; Irad generò Mehujael; Mehujael generò Methusael; e Methusael generò Lamek. |
| 19 | Et Lémec prit deux femmes: le nom de l'une était Ada (plaisir), le nom de l'autre Tsilla (protection). | And Lamech took unto him two wives: the name of the one was Adah, and the name of the other Zillah. | E Lamek si prese due mogli: il nome di una era Ada, e il nome dell'altra Tsillah. |
| 20 | Et Ada enfanta Jabal (fastueux); il fut père de ceux qui demeurent dans des sanctuaires et près des rachetés. | And Adah bare Jabal: he was the father of such as dwell in tents and [have] cattle. | E Ada partorì Jabal, che fu il padre di quelli che abitano sotto le tende e allevano il bestiame. |
| 21 | Et le nom de son frère était Jubal (une source); il fut père de tous ceux qui manipulent le retentissement (harpe) de la sensualité (chalumeau). | And his brother`s name was Jubal: he was the father of all such as handle the harp and pipe. | Ora il nome di suo fratello era Jubal, che fu il padre di tutti quelli che suonano la cetra e il flauto. |
| 22 | Et Tsilla, elle aussi, enfanta Tubal-Caïn (le producteur), qui affinait (forgeait) tous les complots et les enchantements qui se transpirent; et la soeur de Tubal-Caïn fut Naama (séduisante). | And Zillah, she also bare Tubal-cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron: and the sister of Tubal-cain was Naamah. | Tsillah partorì anch'essa Tubal-cain, l'artefice di ogni sorta di strumenti di bronzo e di ferro; e la sorella di Tubal-cain fu Naama. |
| 23 | Et Lémec dit à ses femmes: Ada et Tsilla, écoutez ma voix; femmes de Lémec, prêtez l'oreille à ma parole: Oui! j'ai tué un homme pour ma séparation d'avec Dieu, et un jeune homme pour mon attachement à Cain. | And Lamech said unto his wives: Adah and Zillah, hear my voice; Ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: For I have slain a man for wounding me, And a young man for bruising me: | Poi Lamek disse alle sue mogli: Ada e Tsillah ascoltate la mia voce; mogli di Lamek, fate attenzione alle mie parole! Si, io ho ucciso un uomo perché mi ha ferito, e un giovane per avermi causato una lividura. |
| 24 | Car si Caïn est vengé sept fois contre Dieu, Lémec le sera soixante-dix-sept fois. | If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, Truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. | Se Caino sarà vendicato sette volte, Lamek lo sarà settanta volte sette. |
| 25 | Et Adam connut encore sa femme; et elle enfanta un fils et l'appela Seth (substitut, renommée); car Dieu, dit-elle, m'a donné un autre fils au lieu d'Abel, que Caïn a tué. | And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth. For, [said she], God hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel; for Cain slew him. | Quindi Adamo conobbe ancora la sua moglie, che partorì un figlio e lo chiamò Seth, perché ella disse: Dio mi ha dato un altro discendente al posto di Abele, che Caino ha ucciso. |
| 26 | Et un fils naquit aussi à Seth, et il l'appela Énosh (la défaillance). Alors les hommes commencèrent à invoquer le nom de l'Éternel pour être délivré. | And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enosh. Then began men to call upon the name of Jehovah. | Anche a Seth nacque un figlio, e lo chiamò Enosh. Allora si cominciò a invocare il nome dell'Eterno. |
