| 2 | Et Jacob dit à sa maison et à tous ceux qui étaient avec lui: Otez les dieux étrangers qui sont au milieu de vous, et purifiez-vous, et changez de vêtements; | Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: | Allora Giacobbe disse alla sua famiglia e a tutti quelli che erano con lui: Rimuovete dal vostro mezzo gli dèi stranieri, purificatevi e cambiate le vostre vesti; |

| 4 | Et ils donnèrent à Jacob tous les dieux étrangers qui étaient en leurs mains, et les anneaux qui étaient à leurs oreilles, et Jacob les cacha sous le térébinthe qui était près de Sichem. | And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. | Allora essi diedero a Giacobbe tutti gli dèi stranieri che avevano e gli orecchini che portavano agli orecchi; e Giacobbe li nascose sotto la quercia che si trova vicino a Sichem. |

| 6 | Et Jacob vint à Luz (c'est Béthel), qui est dans le pays de Canaan, lui et tout le peuple qui était avec lui; | So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him. | Così Giacobbe giunse a Luz, cioè Bethel, che è nel paese di Canaan, egli con tutta la gente che era con lui. |
| 7 | et il bâtit là un autel, et il appela le lieu El-Béthel; car c'est là que Dieu s'était révélé à lui comme il s'enfuyait de devant la face de son frère. | And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother. | E là egli costruì un altare e chiamò quel luogo El-Bethel, perché là DIO gli era apparso, quando egli fuggiva davanti a suo fratello. |
| 8 | Et Debora, la nourrice de Rebecca, mourut; et elle fut enterrée au dessous de Béthel, sous un chêne dont le nom fut appelé Allon-Bacuth. | But Deborah Rebekah's nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth. | Allora morì Debora, bàlia di Rebecca, e fu sepolta al di sotto di Bethel, ai piedi della quercia, che fu chiamata Allon-Bakuth. |
| 9 | Et Dieu apparut encore à Jacob, à son retour de Paddan-Aram, et le bénit; | And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. | DIO apparve ancora a Giacobbe, quando questi veniva da Paddan-Aram, e lo benedisse. |
| 10 | et Dieu lui dit: Ton nom est Jacob; ton nom ne sera plus appelé Jacob, mais Israël sera ton nom. Et il appela son nom Israël. | And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. | E DIO gli disse: Il tuo nome è Giacobbe; tu non sarai più chiamato Giacobbe, ma il tuo nome sarà Israele. | 11 | Et Dieu lui dit: Je suis le Dieu Tout-puissant; fructifie et multiplie; une nation, et une multitude de nations, proviendra de toi; et des rois sortiront de tes reins. | And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; | Quindi DIO gli disse: Io sono il Dio onnipotente; sii fruttifero e moltiplica; una nazione, anzi un insieme di nazioni discenderà da te, e dei re usciranno dai tuoi lombi; |
| 12 | Et le pays que j'ai donné à Abraham et à Isaac, je te le donnerai, et je donnerai le pays à ta semence après toi. | And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land. | e darò a te, e alla tua discendenza dopo di te, il paese che diedi ad Abrahamo e a Isacco. |
| 13 | Et Dieu monta d'auprès de lui, dans le lieu où il avait parlé avec lui. | And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him. | Poi DIO salì in alto da lui, dal luogo dove gli aveva parlato. |
| 14 | Et Jacob érigea une stèle au lieu où il avait parlé avec lui, une stèle de pierre, et il répandit dessus une libation, et y versa de l'huile. | And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. | Allora Giacobbe eresse una stele, una stele di pietra, nel luogo dove Dio gli aveva parlato; e su di essa fece una libazione e vi sparse sopra dell'olio. |
| 15 | Et Jacob appela le nom du lieu où Dieu avait parlé avec lui Béthel. | And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel. | E Giacobbe chiamò, il luogo dove DIO gli aveva parlato, Bethel. |
| 16 | Et ils partirent de Béthel; et il y avait encore quelque espace de pays pour arriver à Éphrath, et Rachel enfanta, et elle eut un enfantement pénible. | And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour. | Poi partirono da Bethel; mancava ancora un tratto di strada per arrivare ad Efrata, quando Rachele partorì. Ella ebbe un travaglio difficile; |
| 17 | Et comme elle était en grand travail pour enfanter, la sage-femme lui dit Ne crains point, car tu as ici encore un fils. | And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. | e durante il difficile travaglio per partorire la levatrice le disse: Non temere, perché anche questa volta hai un figlio. |
| 18 | Et il arriva, comme son âme s'en allait (car elle mourut), qu'elle appela le nom du fils Ben-oni; et son père l'appela Benjamin. | And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. | E mentre l'anima la lasciava (perché morì), gli pose nome Ben-Oni, ma il padre lo chiamò Beniamino. |
| 19 | Et Rachel mourut; et elle fut enterrée au chemin d'Éphrath, qui est Bethléhem. | And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. | Così Rachele morì; e fu sepolta sulla via di Efrata, (cioè di Betlemme). |
| 20 | Jacob érigea une stèle sur son sépulcre: c'est la stèle du sépulcre de Rachel, jusqu'à aujourd'hui. | And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel's grave unto this day. | E Giacobbe eresse sulla sua tomba una stele. la stele sulla tomba di Rachele che esiste ancora oggi. |
| 21 | Et Israël partit, et dressa sa tente au delà de Migdal-Éder. | And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar. | Poi Israele partì e piantò la tenda al di là di Migdal-Eder. |
| 22 | Et il arriva, pendant qu'Israël demeurait dans ce pays-là, que Ruben alla et coucha avec Bilha, concubine de son père; et Israël l'apprit. | And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father's concubine: and Israel heard it. Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: | E avvenne che, mentre Israele abitava in quel paese, Ruben andò e si coricò con Bilhah, concubina di suo padre. E Israele lo seppe. |

I figli di Lea: Ruben, primogenito di Giacobbe, Simeone, Levi, Giuda, Issacar, Zabulon. |

Ce sont là les fils de Jacob, qui lui naquirent à Paddan-Aram. | And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's handmaid: Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram. | I figli di Zilpah, serva di Lea: Gad e Ascer. Questi sono i figli di Giacobbe che gli nacquero in Paddan-Aram. |
| 27 | Et Jacob vint vers Isaac, son père, à Mamré, à Kiriath-Arba, qui est Hébron, où Abraham et Isaac avaient séjourné. | And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned. | Poi Giacobbe venne da Isacco suo padre a Mamre, a Kirjath-Arba, (cioè Hebron), dove Abrahamo e Isacco avevano soggiornato. |
| 28 | Et les jours d'Isaac furent cent quatre-vingt ans. | And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years. | Or Isacco visse centottant'anni. |
| 29 | Et Isaac expira et mourut, et fut recueilli vers ses peuples, âgé et rassasié de jours; et Ésaü et Jacob, ses fils, l'enterrèrent. | And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him. | Così Isacco spirò, morì e fu riunito al suo popolo, vecchio e sazio di giorni; ed Esaù e Giacobbe, suoi figli, lo seppellirono. |
