| 7 | Et les fils de Jacob revenaient des champs, lorsqu'ils apprirent la chose ; ces hommes furent irrités et se mirent dans une grande colère, parce que Sichem avait commis une infamie en Israël, en couchant avec la fille de Jacob, ce qui n'aurait pas dû se faire. | And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done. | Appena sentirono dell'accaduto, i figli di Giacobbe tornarono dai campi; essi erano addolorati e fortemente adirati, perché costui aveva commesso una cosa ignominiosa in Israele, coricandosi con la figlia di Giacobbe, cosa che non era da farsi. |

| 14 | Ils leur dirent : C'est une chose que nous ne pouvons pas faire, que de donner notre soeur à un homme incirconcis ; car ce serait un opprobre pour nous. | And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us: | e dissero loro: Non possiamo fare questa cosa, cioè dare la nostra sorella a uno che non è circonciso, perché questo sarebbe per noi un disonore. |
| 15 | Nous ne consentirons à votre désir qu'à la condition que vous deveniez comme nous, et que tout mâle parmi vous soit circoncis. | But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; | Soltanto a questa condizione acconsentiremo alla vostra richiesta: se voi diventerete come noi, facendo circoncidere ogni maschio tra voi. |

Nous prendrons pour femmes leurs filles, et nous leur donnerons nos filles. | These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters. | Questi uomini intendono stare in pace con noi; rimangano pure nel paese e vi commercino, perché il paese è grande abbastanza per loro. Noi prenderemo le loro figlie per mogli e daremo le nostre figlie a loro. |
| 22 | Mais ces hommes ne consentiront à habiter avec nous, pour former un seul peuple, qu'à la condition que tout mâle parmi nous soit circoncis, comme ils sont eux-mêmes circoncis. | Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised. | Ma questi uomini acconsentiranno ad abitare con noi per formare un sol popolo, unicamente a questa condizione: che ogni maschio fra noi sia circonciso, come sono circoncisi loro. |

| 24 | Tous ceux qui étaient venus à la porte de la ville écoutèrent Hamor et Sichem, son fils ; et tous les mâles se firent circoncire, tous ceux qui étaient venus à la porte de la ville. | And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city. | E tutti quelli che uscivano dalla porta della città diedero ascolto ad Hamor e a suo figlio Sichem; e ogni maschio fu circonciso, tutti quelli che uscivano dalla porta della città. |
| 25 | Le troisième jour, pendant qu'ils étaient souffrants, les deux fils de Jacob, Siméon et Lévi, frères de Dina, prirent chacun leur épée, tombèrent sur la ville qui se croyait en sécurité, et tuèrent tous les mâles. | And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. | Or avvenne che il terzo giorno, mentre essi erano sofferenti, due dei figli di Giacobbe, Simeone e Levi, fratelli di Dina, presero ciascuno la propria spada, piombarono sulla città che se ne stava al sicuro, e uccisero tutti i maschi. |

Je n'ai qu'un petit nombre d'hommes ; et ils se rassembleront contre moi, ils me frapperont, et je serai détruit, moi et ma maison. | And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house. | Allora Giacobbe disse a Simeone e a Levi: Voi mi avete messo nei guai rendendomi odioso agli abitanti del paese, ai Cananei e ai Perezei. Siccome noi siamo in pochi, essi si raduneranno contro di me e mi daranno addosso, e io e la casa mia saremo sterminati. |
| 31 | Ils répondirent : Traitera-t-on notre soeur comme une prostituée ? | And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot? | Ma essi risposero: Doveva egli trattare nostra sorella come una prostituta?. |
