| 5 | And Jacob heard that he had defiled Dinah his daughter: now his sons were with his cattle in the field: and Jacob held his peace until they were come. | Et Jacob apprit qu'il avait violé Dina sa fille. Or ses fils étaient avec son bétail aux champs; et Jacob se tut jusqu'à ce qu'ils fussent revenus. | Or Giacobbe udì che egli aveva disonorato sua figlia Dina; ma i suoi figli erano nei campi col suo bestiame, per cui Giacobbe tacque finché non furono tornati. |
| 6 | And Hamor the father of Shechem went out unto Jacob to commune with him. | Et Hémor, père de Sichem vint à Jacob pour parler avec lui. | Allora Hamor, padre di Sichem, si recò da Giacobbe per parlargli. |
| 7 | And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heard it: and the men were grieved, and they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob's daughter: which thing ought not to be done. | Et les fils de Jacob étant revenus des champs, et ayant appris ce qui était arrivé, ils en eurent une grande douleur, et furent fort irrités de l'infamie que Sichem avait commise contre Israël, en couchant avec la fille de Jacob, ce qui ne se devait point faire. | Appena sentirono dell'accaduto, i figli di Giacobbe tornarono dai campi; essi erano addolorati e fortemente adirati, perché costui aveva commesso una cosa ignominiosa in Israele, coricandosi con la figlia di Giacobbe, cosa che non era da farsi. |

| 9 | And make ye marriages with us, and give your daughters unto us, and take our daughters unto you. | Et alliez-vous avec nous, donnez-nous vos filles, et prenez nos filles pour vous. | e imparentatevi con noi: dateci le vostre figlie e prendetevi le nostre figlie. |

| 13 | And the sons of Jacob answered Shechem and Hamor his father deceitfully, and said, because he had defiled Dinah their sister: | Alors les enfants de Jacob répondirent à Sichem et à Hémor son père; et agissant avec ruse (parce qu'il avait violé Dina leur soeur:) | Allora i figli di Giacobbe risposero a Sichem e a Hamor suo padre e parlarono loro con astuzia, perché Sichem aveva disonorato Dina loro sorella, |
| 14 | And they said unto them, We cannot do this thing, to give our sister to one that is uncircumcised; for that were a reproach unto us: | Ils leur dirent: Nous ne pourrons point faire cela, de donner notre soeur à un homme incirconcis; car ce nous serait un opprobre. | e dissero loro: Non possiamo fare questa cosa, cioè dare la nostra sorella a uno che non è circonciso, perché questo sarebbe per noi un disonore. |
| 15 | But in this will we consent unto you: If ye will be as we be, that every male of you be circumcised; | Mais nous nous accommoderons avec vous, pourvu que vous deveniez semblables à nous en circoncisant tous les mâles qui sont parmi vous. | Soltanto a questa condizione acconsentiremo alla vostra richiesta: se voi diventerete come noi, facendo circoncidere ogni maschio tra voi. |
| 16 | Then will we give our daughters unto you, and we will take your daughters to us, and we will dwell with you, and we will become one people. | Alors nous vous donnerons nos filles, et nous prendrons vos filles pour nous, et nous demeurerons avec vous, et nous ne serons qu'un seul peuple. | Allora noi vi daremo le nostre figlie e ci prenderemo le vostre figlie, abiteremo con voi e diventeremo un sol popolo. |
| 17 | But if ye will not hearken unto us, to be circumcised; then will we take our daughter, and we will be gone. | Mais si vous ne consentez pas d'être circoncis, nous prendrons notre fille, et nous nous en irons. | Ma se non ci volete ascoltare e non vi volete far circoncidere, noi prenderemo la nostra figlia e ce ne andremo. |

| 21 | These men are peaceable with us; therefore let them dwell in the land, and trade therein; for the land, behold, it is large enough for them; let us take their daughters to us for wives, and let us give them our daughters. | Ces gens-ci sont paisibles, ils sont avec nous; qu'ils habitent au pays, et qu'ils y trafiquent; car voici, le pays est d'une assez grande étendue pour eux. Nous prendrons leurs filles pour nos femmes, et nous leur donnerons nos filles. | Questi uomini intendono stare in pace con noi; rimangano pure nel paese e vi commercino, perché il paese è grande abbastanza per loro. Noi prenderemo le loro figlie per mogli e daremo le nostre figlie a loro. |
| 22 | Only herein will the men consent unto us for to dwell with us, to be one people, if every male among us be circumcised, as they are circumcised. | Et ces gens s'accommoderont à nous en ceci pour habiter avec nous, et pour devenir un même peuple; pourvu que tout mâle qui est parmi nous soit circoncis, comme ils sont circoncis. | Ma questi uomini acconsentiranno ad abitare con noi per formare un sol popolo, unicamente a questa condizione: che ogni maschio fra noi sia circonciso, come sono circoncisi loro. |
| 23 | Shall not their cattle and their substance and every beast of their's be our's? only let us consent unto them, and they will dwell with us. | Leur bétail, et leurs biens, et toutes leurs bêtes, ne seront-ils pas à nous? Seulement accommodons-nous à eux, et qu'ils demeurent avec nous. | Il loro bestiame, la loro ricchezza e i loro animali non saranno, forse nostri? Acconsentiamo alla loro richiesta ed essi abiteranno con noi. |
| 24 | And unto Hamor and unto Shechem his son hearkened all that went out of the gate of his city; and every male was circumcised, all that went out of the gate of his city. | Et tous ceux qui sortaient par la porte de leur ville obéirent à Hémor, et à Sichem son fils; et tout mâle d'entre tous ceux qui sortaient par la porte de leur ville fut circoncis. | E tutti quelli che uscivano dalla porta della città diedero ascolto ad Hamor e a suo figlio Sichem; e ogni maschio fu circonciso, tutti quelli che uscivano dalla porta della città. |
| 25 | And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. | Mais il arriva au troisième jour, quand ils étaient dans la douleur, que deux des enfants de Jacob, Siméon et Lévi, frères de Dina, ayant pris leurs épées, entrèrent hardiment dans la ville, et tuèrent tous les mâles. | Or avvenne che il terzo giorno, mentre essi erano sofferenti, due dei figli di Giacobbe, Simeone e Levi, fratelli di Dina, presero ciascuno la propria spada, piombarono sulla città che se ne stava al sicuro, e uccisero tutti i maschi. |

| 30 | And Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, Ye have troubled me to make me to stink among the inhabitants of the land, among the Canaanites and the Perizzites: and I being few in number, they shall gather themselves together against me, and slay me; and I shall be destroyed, I and my house. | Alors Jacob dit à Siméon et Lévi: Vous m'avez troublé, en me mettant en mauvaise odeur parmi les habitants du pays, tant Cananéens que Phéréziens, et je n'ai que peu de gens; ils s'assembleront donc contre moi, et me frapperont, et me détruiront, moi et ma maison. | Allora Giacobbe disse a Simeone e a Levi: Voi mi avete messo nei guai rendendomi odioso agli abitanti del paese, ai Cananei e ai Perezei. | 31 | And they said, Should he deal with our sister as with an harlot? | Et ils répondirent: Fera-t-on de notre soeur comme d'une paillarde? | Ma essi risposero: Doveva egli trattare nostra sorella come una prostituta?. |
