Et Jacob répondit : Ce sont les enfants que Dieu a accordés à ton serviteur. | And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are these with thee? And he said, The children whom God hath graciously given thy servant. | Poi Esaù alzò gli occhi e vide le donne e i fanciulli, e disse: Chi sono questi con te?. Giacobbe rispose: Sono i figli che DIO si è compiaciuto di dare al tuo servo. |

| 8 | Ésaü dit : A quoi destines-tu tout ce camp que j'ai rencontré ? Et Jacob répondit : A trouver grâce aux yeux de mon seigneur. | And he said, What meanest thou by all this company which I met? And he said, To find favor in the sight of my lord. | Esaù disse: Che vuoi fare di tutta quella schiera che ho incontrato?. Giacobbe rispose: E' per trovare grazia agli occhi del mio signore. |
| 9 | Ésaü dit : Je suis dans l'abondance, mon frère ; garde ce qui est à toi. | And Esau said, I have enough, my brother; let that which thou hast be thine. | Allora Esaù disse: Ne ho già abbastanza, fratello mio; tieni per te ciò che è tuo. |
| 10 | Et Jacob répondit : Non, je te prie, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, accepte de ma main mon présent ; car c'est pour cela que j'ai regardé ta face comme on regarde la face de Dieu, et tu m'as accueilli favorablement. | And Jacob said, Nay, I pray thee, if now I have found favor in thy sight, then receive my present at my hand; forasmuch as I have seen thy face, as one seeth the face of God, and thou wast pleased with me. | Ma Giacobbe disse: No, ti prego; se ho trovato grazia ai tuoi occhi, accetta il mio dono dalla mia mano, perché vedere la tua faccia, per me è stato come vedere la faccia di DIO, e tu mi hai fatto una buona accoglienza. |
| 11 | Accepte donc mon présent qui t'a été offert, puisque Dieu m'a comblé de grâces, et que je ne manque de rien. Il insista auprès de lui, et Ésaü accepta. | Take, I pray thee, my gift that is brought to thee; because God hath dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him, and he took it. | Deh, accetta il mio dono che ti è stato recato, perché DIO mi ha usato grande bontà, e perché ho tutto. E insisté tanto, che Esaù accettò. |
| 12 | Ésaü dit : Partons, mettons-nous en route ; j'irai devant toi. | And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before thee. | Poi Esaù disse: Partiamo, incamminiamoci e io andrò davanti a te. |
| 13 | Jacob lui répondit : Mon seigneur sait que les enfants sont délicats, et que j'ai des brebis et des vaches qui allaitent ; si l'on forçait leur marche un seul jour, tout le troupeau périrait. | And he said unto him, My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and that the flocks and herds with me have their young: and if they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die. | Ma Giacobbe rispose: Il mio signore sa che i fanciulli sono di tenera età e che ho con me delle pecore e delle mucche che allattano; se le fanno strapazzare anche un solo giorno, tutte le bestie moriranno. |
| 14 | Que mon seigneur prenne les devants sur son serviteur ; et moi, je suivrai lentement, au pas du troupeau qui me précédera, et au pas des enfants, jusqu'à ce que j'arrive chez mon seigneur, à Séir. | Let my lord, I pray thee, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come unto my lord unto Seir. | Deh, passi il mio signore prima del suo servo, e io me ne verrò pian piano, al passo del bestiame che mi precede e al passo dei fanciulli, finché arrivi presso al mio signore, a Seir. |
| 15 | Ésaü dit : Je veux au moins laisser avec toi une partie de mes gens. Et Jacob répondit : Pourquoi cela ? Que je trouve seulement grâce aux yeux de mon seigneur ! | And Esau said, Let me now leave with thee some of the folk that are with me. And he said, What needeth it? let me find favor in the sight of my lord. | Esaù allora disse: Permetti almeno che io lasci con te un po' della gente che ho con me. Ma Giacobbe rispose: Perché fare ciò? Basta che io trovi grazia agli occhi del mio signore. |
| 16 | Le même jour, Ésaü reprit le chemin de Séir. | So Esau returned that day on his way unto Seir. | Così, in quel giorno stesso, Esaù ritornò sul suo cammino verso Seir. |
| 17 | Jacob partit pour Succoth. Il bâtit une maison pour lui, et il fit des cabanes pour ses troupeaux. C'est pourquoi l'on a appelé ce lieu de nom de Succoth. | And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him a house, and made booths for his cattle: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth. | Giacobbe partì alla volta di Sukkoth, costruì una casa per sé e fece delle capanne per il suo bestiame; perciò quel luogo fu chiamato Sukkoth. |
| 18 | A son retour de Paddan Aram, Jacob arriva heureusement à la ville de Sichem, dans le pays de Canaan, et il campa devant la ville. | And Jacob came in peace to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Paddan-aram; and encamped before the city. | Poi Giacobbe, tornando da Paddan-Aram, arrivò sano e salvo alla città di Sichem, nel paese di Canaan, e piantò le tende di fronte alla città. |
| 19 | Il acheta la portion du champ où il avait dressé sa tente, des fils d'Hamor, père de Sichem, pour cent kesita. | And he bought the parcel of ground, where he had spread his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem`s father, for a hundred pieces of money. | E comprò dai figli di Hamor, padre di Sichem, per cento pezzi di denaro, la parte del campo dove aveva piantato le sue tende. |
