| 3 | Et quand tous les troupeaux étaient là assemblés, on roulait la pierre de dessus l'ouverture du puits, et on abreuvait les troupeaux; et ensuite on remettait la pierre en son lieu, sur l'ouverture du puits. | And thither were all the flocks gathered. And they rolled the stone from the well`s mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well`s mouth in its place. | Là si radunavano solitamente tutte le greggi; allora i pastori rotolavano via la pietra dalla bocca del pozzo e abbeveravano le pecore; poi rimettevano la pietra al suo posto, sulla bocca del pozzo. |
| 4 | Et Jacob leur dit: Mes frères, d'où êtes-vous? Ils répondirent: Nous sommes de Caran. | And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence are ye? And they said, Of Haran are we. | E Giacobbe disse loro: Fratelli miei, di dove siete?. Essi risposero: Siamo di Haran. |

| 8 | Ils répondirent: Nous ne le pouvons point jusqu'à ce que tous les troupeaux soient assemblés, et qu'on ait oté la pierre de dessus l'ouverture du puits, afin d'abreuver les troupeaux. | And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and they roll the stone from the well`s mouth. Then we water the sheep. | Ma essi risposero: Non possiamo, finché tutte le greggi siano raunate, e abbiano rotolata via la pietra dalla bocca del pozzo; allora faremo bere le pecore. |
| 9 | Et comme il parlait encore avec eux, Rachel arriva avec le troupeau de son père; car elle était bergère. | While he was yet speaking with them, Rachel came with her father`s sheep. | 10 | Et il arriva que quand Jacob eut vu Rachel fille de Laban frère de sa mère, et le troupeau de Laban frère de sa mère, il s'approcha et roula la pierre de dessus l'ouverture du puits, et abreuva le troupeau de Laban, frère de sa mère. | And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother`s brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother`s brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well`s mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother`s brother. | Quando Giacobbe vide Rachele figlia di Labano, fratello di sua madre, e le pecore di Labano fratello di sua madre, si avvicinò, rotolò la pietra dalla bocca del pozzo, e abbeverò il gregge di Labano, fratello di sua madre. |

| 14 | Et Laban lui dit: Certainement, tu es mon os et ma chair; et il demeura avec lui un mois entier. | And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month. | Allora Labano gli disse: Tu sei veramente mia carne e sangue!. Ed egli rimase con lui per un mese. |
| 15 | Après quoi Laban dit à Jacob: Me serviras-tu pour rien, parce que tu es mon frère? Dis-moi quel sera ton salaire? | And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? Tell me, what shall thy wages be? | Poi Labano disse a Giacobbe: Perché sei mio parente dovrai tu servirmi per nulla? Dimmi quale dev'essere il tuo salario. |
| 16 | Or Laban avait deux filles, dont l'aînée s'appelait Léa, et la plus jeune, Rachel. | And Laban had two daughters. The name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel. | Ora Labano aveva due figlie: la maggiore si chiamava Lea e la minore Rachele. |
| 17 | Mais Léa avait les yeux tendres, et Rachel était de belle taille, et belle à voir. | And Leah`s eyes were tender. But Rachel was beautiful and well favored. | Lea aveva gli occhi languidi, ma Rachele era avvenente e di bell'aspetto. |
| 18 | Et Jacob aimait Rachel, et il dit: Je te servirai sept ans pour Rachel, ta plus jeune fille. | And Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter. | Perciò Giacobbe amava Rachele e disse a Labano: Io ti servirò sette anni per Rachele, tua figlia minore. |
| 19 | Et Laban répondit: Il vaut mieux que je te la donne que si je la donnais à un autre; demeure avec moi. | And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man. Abide with me. | Labano rispose: meglio che la dia a te piuttosto che darla a un altro uomo; rimani con me. |
| 20 | Jacob donc servit sept ans pour Rachel, qui lui semblèrent comme peu de jours, parce qu'il l'aimait. | And Jacob served seven years for Rachel. And they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her. | Così Giacobbe servì sette anni per Rachele; e gli parvero pochi giorni, per l'amore che le portava. |
| 21 | Et Jacob dit à Laban: Donne-moi ma femme, car mon temps est accompli, et je viendrai vers elle. | And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her. | Poi Giacobbe disse a Labano: Dammi mia moglie, poiché il mio tempo è compiuto e lascia che mi accosti a lei. |
| 22 | Laban donc assembla tous les gens du lieu, et fit un festin. | And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast. | Allora Labano radunò tutti gli uomini del luogo e fece un convito. |
| 23 | Mais quand le soir fut venu, il prit Léa sa fille, et l'amena à Jacob, qui vint vers elle. | And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him. And he went in unto her. | Ma, quando fu sera, egli prese sua figlia Lea e la condusse da Giacobbe, che entrò da lei. |
| 24 | Et Laban donna Zilpa sa servante à Léa, sa fille, pour servante. | And Laban gave Zilpah his handmaid unto his daughter Leah for a handmaid. | Labano diede inoltre la sua serva Zilpah per serva a Lea, sua figlia. |
| 25 | Mais le matin étant venu, voici, c'était Léa. Et il dit à Laban: Qu'est-ce que tu m'as fait? N'ai-je pas servi chez toi pour Rachel? et pourquoi m'as-tu trompé? | And it came to pass in the morning that, behold, it was Leah. And he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? Did not I serve with thee for Rachel? Wherefore then hast thou beguiled me? | L'indomani mattina, ecco che era Lea. Allora Giacobbe disse a Labano: Cosa mi hai fatto? Non è forse per Rachele che ti ho servito? Perché dunque mi hai ingannato?. |
| 26 | Laban répondit: On ne fait pas ainsi en ce lieu, de donner la plus jeune avant l'aînée. | And Laban said, It is not so done in our place, to give the younger before the first-born. | Labano rispose: Non si usa far così nel nostro paese, dare cioè la minore prima della maggiore. |
| 27 | Achève la semaine de celle-ci, et nous te donnerons aussi l'autre, pour le service que tu feras encore chez moi sept autres années. | Fulfil the week of this one, and we will give thee the other also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years. | Finisci la settimana di questa e ti daremo anche l'altra, per il servizio che presterai da me per altri sette anni. |
| 28 | Jacob donc fit ainsi, et il acheva la semaine de Léa; et Laban lui donna aussi pour femme Rachel sa fille. | And jacob did so, and fulfilled her week. And he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife. | Allora Giacobbe fece così, e finì la settimana di Lea; poi Labano gli diede in moglie la figlia Rachele. |
| 29 | Et Laban donna Bilha sa servante à Rachel sa fille, pour servante. | And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her handmaid. | Inoltre Labano diede la sua serva Bilhah per serva a Rachele, sua figlia. |
| 30 | Il vint donc aussi vers Rachel, et il aima plus Rachel que Léa; et il servit encore chez lui sept autres années. | And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years. | E Giacobbe entrò pure da Rachele ed amò Rachele più di Lea; e servì da Labano altri sette anni. |
| 31 | Et l'Eternel voyant que Léa était haïe, ouvrit sa matrice; mais Rachel était stérile. | And Jehovah saw that Leah was hated, and he opened her womb. But Rachel was barren. | L'Eterno, vedendo che Lea non era amata, aperse il suo grembo; ma Rachele era sterile. |
| 32 | Et Léa conçut et enfanta un fils, et elle le nomma Ruben, car elle dit: C'est parce que l'Eternel a regardé mon affliction; c'est pourquoi aussi maintenant mon mari m'aimera. | And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben. For she said, Because Jehovah hath looked upon my affliction. For now my husband will love me. | Così Lea concepì e partorì un figlio e lo chiamò Ruben, perché disse: L'Eterno ha visto la mia maledizione; perciò ora mio marito mi amerà. |
| 33 | Elle conçut encore, et enfanta un fils, et dit: Parce que l'Eternel a entendu que j'étais haïe, il m'a aussi donné celui-ci; et elle le nomma Siméon. | And she conceived again, and bare a son: and said, Because Jehovah hath heard that I am hated, he hath therefore given me this [son] also. And she called his name Simeon. | Poi concepì nuovamente e partorì un figlio e disse: L'Eterno ha udito che io non ero amata, e perciò mi ha dato anche questo figlio. E lo chiamò Simeone. |
| 34 | Et elle conçut encore, et enfanta un fils, et dit: Maintenant mon mari s'attachera à moi: car je lui ai enfanté trois fils: C'est pourquoi on appela son nom Lévi. | And she conceived again, and bare a son. And said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have borne him three sons. Therefore was his name called Levi. | Ella concepì nuovamente e partorì un figlio, e disse: Questa volta mio marito sia affezionerà a me, perché gli ho partorito tre figli. Per questo fu chiamato Levi. |
| 35 | Elle conçut encore, et enfanta un fils, et dit: Cette fois je louerai l'Eternel; c'est pourquoi elle appela son nom Juda; et elle ne continua plus d'avoir des enfants. | And she conceived again, and bare a son. And she said, This time will I praise Jehovah. Therefore she called his name Judah. And she left off bearing. | Ella concepì nuovamente e partorì un figlio, e disse: Questa volta celebrerò l'Eterno. Perciò lo chiamo Giuda. Poi cessò di avere figli. |
