| 9 | Et le serviteur mit sa main sous la cuisse d'Abraham, son seigneur, et lui jura au sujet de ces choses. | And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. | Così il servo pose la mano sotto la coscia di Abrahamo suo signore e fece a lui giuramento in merito a questo problema. |
| 10 | Et le serviteur prit dix chameaux d'entre les chameaux de son maître, et s'en alla; or il avait tout le bien de son maître sous sa main. Et il se leva et s'en alla en Mésopotamie, à la ville de Nakhor. | And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. | Poi il servo prese dieci cammelli fra i cammelli del suo signore e partì, parlando con sé ogni sorta di beni del suo signore. | 11 | Et il fit agenouiller les chameaux en dehors de la ville, auprès d'un puits d'eau, au temps du soir, au temps où sortent celles qui vont puiser. | And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. | E fece inginocchiare i cammelli fuori della città presso un pozzo d'acqua, verso sera, all'ora in cui le donne escono ad attingere l'acqua, e disse: |

| 13 | Voici, je me tiens près de la fontaine d'eau, et les filles des gens de la ville sortent pour puiser de l'eau; | Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water: | Ecco, io sto presso questa fonte d'acqua, mentre le figlie degli abitanti della città escono ad attingere acqua. |
| 14 | qu'il arrive donc que la jeune fille à laquelle je dirai: Abaisse ta cruche, je te prie, afin que je boive, et qui dira: Bois, et j'abreuverai aussi tes chameaux, soit celle que tu as destinée à ton serviteur, à Isaac; et à cela je connaîtrai que tu as usé de grâce envers mon seigneur. | And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. | Fa' che la fanciulla alla quale dirò: "Deh, abbassa la tua brocca perché io beva", e che mi risponderà: "Bevi, e darò da bere anche ai tuoi cammelli", sia quella che tu hai destinata al tuo servo Isacco. Et vite elle abaissa sa cruche sur sa main; et lui donna à boire. | And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. | Ella rispose: Bevi, signor mio; poi si affrettò a calare la brocca sulla mano, e gli diede da bere. |
| 19 | Et, après qu'elle eut achevé de lui donner à boire, elle dit: Je puiserai aussi pour tes chameaux, jusqu'à ce qu'ils aient fini de boire. | And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. | Come ebbe finito di dargli da bere, disse: Attingerò acqua anche per i tuoi cammelli, finché abbiano bevuto a sufficienza. |

| 21 | Et l'homme la regardait avec étonnement sans rien dire, pour savoir si l'Éternel aurait fait prospérer son voyage, ou non. | And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. | Intanto quell'uomo la contemplava in silenzio, per sapere se l'Eterno avesse o no fatto prosperare il suo viaggio. |
| 22 | Et il arriva, quand les chameaux eurent fini de boire, que l'homme prit un anneau d'or, du poids d'un demi-sicle, et deux bracelets pour ses mains, du poids de dix sicles d'or. | And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold; | Quando i cammelli ebbero finito di bere, l'uomo prese un anello d'oro per il naso del peso di mezzo siclo e due braccialetti del peso di dieci sicli d'oro per i polsi di lei, e disse: |
| 23 | Et il dit: De qui es-tu fille? Fais-le-moi savoir, je te prie. Y a-t-il pour nous, dans la maison de ton père, un lieu pour y loger? | And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in? | Di chi sei figlia? Dimmelo, per favore. C'è posto per noi in casa di tuo padre per passare la notte?. |
| 24 | Et elle lui dit: Je suis fille de Bethuel, fils de Milca, qu'elle a enfanté à Nakhor. | And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor. | Ella rispose: Io sono figlia di Bethuel figlio di Milkah, che ella partorì a Nahor. |
| 25 | Et elle lui dit: Il y a chez nous de la paille, et aussi du fourrage en abondance, et de la place pour loger. | She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in. | E aggiunse: Da noi c'è strame e foraggio in quantità e anche posto per passare la notte. |
| 26 | Et l'homme s'inclina, et se prosterna devant l'Éternel, et dit: | And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD. | Allora l'uomo s'inchinò, adorò l'Eterno e disse: |
| 27 | Béni soit l'Éternel, le Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham, qui ne s'est pas départi de sa grâce et de sa vérité envers mon seigneur. Lorsque j'étais en chemin, l'Éternel m'a conduit à la maison des frères de mon seigneur. | And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. | Benedetto l'Eterno, il DIO di Abrahamo mio signore, che non ha cessato di usare la sua benignità e fedeltà verso il mio signore! | 28 | Et la jeune fille courut, et rapporta ces choses dans la maison de sa mère; | And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things. | E la fanciulla corse a raccontare queste cose a casa di sua madre. |
| 29 | or Rebecca avait un frère, nommé Laban; et Laban courut vers l'homme, dehors, à la fontaine. | And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well. | Or Rebecca aveva un fratello chiamato Labano. E Labano corse fuori da quell'uomo alla fonte. |

| 32 | Et l'homme entra dans la maison, et on débarrassa les chameaux; et on donna de la paille et du fourrage aux chameaux, et pour lui de l'eau pour laver ses pieds et les pieds des gens qui étaient avec lui. | And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him. | L'uomo entrò in casa, e Labano scaricò i cammelli diede strame e foraggio ai cammelli e portò acqua per lavare i piedi di lui e i piedi degli uomini che erano con lui. |

| 35 | Or l'Éternel a béni abondamment mon seigneur, et il est devenu grand; et lui a donné du menu bétail, et du gros bétail, et de l'argent, et de l'or, et des serviteurs, et des servantes, et des chameaux, et des ânes. | And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. | L'Eterno ha benedetto abbondantemente il mio signore, che è divenuto grande; gli ha dato pecore e buoi, argento e oro, servi e serve, cammelli e asini. |

| 40 | Et il me dit: l'Éternel, devant qui je marche, enverra son ange avec toi et fera prospérer ton voyage, et tu prendras pour mon fils une femme de ma famille et de la maison de mon père. | And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house: | Ma egli rispose: "L'Eterno, davanti al quale ho camminato, manderà il suo angelo con te e farà prosperare il tuo viaggio, e tu prenderai per mio figlio una moglie dal mio parentado e dalla casa di mio padre. |

| 49 | Et maintenant, si vous voulez user de grâce et de vérité envers mon seigneur, déclarez-le-moi; et sinon, déclarez-le-moi, et je me tournerai à droite ou à gauche. | And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left. | E ora, se volete usare benevolenza e fedeltà verso il mio signore, ditemelo; se no, ditemelo lo stesso e io mi volgerò a destra o a sinistra. |
