And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things. And Abraham was old, [and] well stricken in age. And Jehovah had blessed Abraham in all things.Abrahamo era ormai vecchio e di età avanzata; e l'Eterno aveva benedetto Abrahamo in ogni cosa.
And Abraham said unto his eldest servant of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh:Et Abraham dit à son serviteur, le plus ancien de sa maison, qui avait le gouvernement de tout ce qui lui appartenait: Mets, je te prie, ta main sous ma cuisse,And Abraham said unto his servant, the elder of his house, that ruled over all that he had, Put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh.E Abrahamo disse al servo più anziano di casa sua che aveva il governo su tutti i suoi beni: Deh, metti la tua mano sotto la mia coscia;
And I will make thee swear by the LORD, the God of heaven, and the God of the earth, that thou shalt not take a wife unto my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:Et je te ferai jurer par l'Éternel, le Dieu des cieux et le Dieu de la terre, que tu ne prendras point de femme pour mon fils, d'entre les filles des Cananéens, parmi lesquels j'habite. And I will make thee swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou wilt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.e io ti farò giurare per l'Eterno, il DIO dei cieli e il DIO della terra, che tu non prenderai per moglie a mio figlio alcuna delle figlie dei Cananei, in mezzo ai quali io dimoro;
But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son Isaac. But thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Isaac.ma andrai al mio paese e al mio parentado a prendere una moglie per mio figlio, per Isacco.
And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest? And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land. Must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?
And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.Abraham lui dit: Garde-toi bien d'y ramener mon fils. And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.
The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father's house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.L'Éternel, le Dieu des cieux, qui m'a pris de la maison de mon père et du pays de ma naissance, et qui m'a parlé, et qui m'a juré, en disant: Je donnerai à ta postérité ce pays, enverra lui-même son ange devant toi, et tu prendras de là une femme pour mon fils.Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father`s house, and from the land of my nativity, and who spake unto me, and who sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land. He will send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife for my son from thence.L'Eterno, il DIO dei cieli, che mi trasse dalla casa di mio padre e dal mio paese natio, e mi parlò e mi giurò dicendo: Io darò questo paese alla tua discendenza, egli manderà il suo angelo davanti a te, e tu prenderai di là una moglie per mio figlio.
And if the woman will not be willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath: only bring not my son thither again. And if the woman be not willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath. Only thou shalt not bring my son thither again.E se la donna non sarà disposta a seguirti, allora sarai sciolto da questo giuramento a me fatto; soltanto non riportare là mio figlio.
And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning that matter. And the servant put his hand under the thigh of Abraham his master, and sware to him concerning this matter.
And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed; for all the goods of his master were in his hand: and he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor. And the servant took ten camels, of the camels of his master, and departed, having all goodly things of his master`s in his hand. And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia, unto the city of Nahor.
And he made his camels to kneel down without the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, even the time that women go out to draw water. And he made the camels to kneel down without the city by the well of water at the time of evening, the time that women go out to draw water.E fece inginocchiare i cammelli fuori della città presso un pozzo d'acqua, verso sera, all'ora in cui le donne escono ad attingere l'acqua, e disse:
And he said O LORD God of my master Abraham, I pray thee, send me good speed this day, and shew kindness unto my master Abraham. And he said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, send me, I pray thee, good speed this day, and show kindness unto my master Abraham.O Eterno, DIO del mio signore Abrahamo, ti prego, fa' che quest'oggi possa fare un felice incontro, e usa benignità verso Abrahamo mio signore!
Behold, I stand here by the well of water; and the daughters of the men of the city come out to draw water:Voici, je me tiens près de la source, et les filles des gens de la ville sortent pour puiser de l'eau.Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And the daughters of the men of the city are coming out to draw water.
And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink; and she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac; and thereby shall I know that thou hast shewed kindness unto my master. And let it come to pass, that the damsel to whom I shall say, Let down thy pitcher, I pray thee, that I may drink. And she shall say, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also. Let the same be she that thou hast appointed for thy servant Isaac. And thereby shall I know that thou hast showed kindness unto my master.
And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel, son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham's brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder. And it came to pass, before he had done speaking, that, behold, Rebekah came out, who was born to Bethuel the son of Milcah, the wife of Nahor, Abraham`s brother, with her pitcher upon her shoulder.
And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.Et la jeune fille était très belle; elle était vierge, et nul homme ne l'avait connue. And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her. And she went down to the fountain, and filled her pitcher, and came up.La Fanciulla era molto bella d'aspetto, vergine, e nessun uomo l'aveva mai conosciuta.
And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Let me, I pray thee, drink a little water of thy pitcher. And the servant ran to meet her, and said, Give me to drink, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher.
And she said, Drink, my lord: and she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink. And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hasted, and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave him drink.
And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for thy camels also, until they have done drinking. And when she had done giving him drink, she said, I will draw for thy camels also, until they have done drinking.
And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw water, and drew for all his camels. And she hasted, and emptied her pitcher into the trough, and ran again unto the well to draw, and drew for all his camels.
And the man wondering at her held his peace, to wit whether the LORD had made his journey prosperous or not. And the man looked stedfastly on her, holding his peace, to know whether Jehovah had made his journey prosperous or not.
And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold;Et, dès que les chameaux eurent achevé de boire, cet homme prit un anneau d'or, pesant un demi-sicle, et deux bracelets pour ses mains, pesant dix sicles d'or. And it came to pass, as the camels had done drinking, that the man took a golden ring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for her hands of ten shekels weight of gold,Quando i cammelli ebbero finito di bere, l'uomo prese un anello d'oro per il naso del peso di mezzo siclo e due braccialetti del peso di dieci sicli d'oro per i polsi di lei, e disse:
And said, Whose daughter art thou? tell me, I pray thee: is there room in thy father's house for us to lodge in?Et il dit: De qui es-tu fille? apprends-le-moi, je te prie. Tell me, I pray thee. Is there room in thy father`s house for us to lodge in?Di chi sei figlia?
And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, which she bare unto Nahor. And she said unto him, I am the daughter of Bethuel the son of Milcah, whom she bare unto Nahor.
She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.Puis elle lui dit: Il y a chez nous beaucoup de paille et de fourrage, et aussi de la place pour y passer la nuit.She said moreover unto him, We have both straw and provender enough, and room to lodge in.E aggiunse: Da noi c'è strame e foraggio in quantità e anche posto per passare la notte.
And the man bowed down his head, and worshipped the LORD.Et cet homme s'inclina et se prosterna devant l'Éternel;And the man bowed his head, and worshipped Jehovah.Allora l'uomo s'inchinò, adorò l'Eterno e disse:
And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of my master Abraham, who hath not left destitute my master of his mercy and his truth: I being in the way, the LORD led me to the house of my master's brethren. And he said, Blessed be Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who hath not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth toward my master. As for me, Jehovah hath led me in the way to the house of my master`s brethren.
And the damsel ran, and told them of her mother's house these things. And the damsel ran, and told her mother`s house according to these words.E la fanciulla corse a raccontare queste cose a casa di sua madre.
And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the well.Or, Rébecca avait un frère nommé Laban. And Rebekah had a brother, and his name was Laban: and Laban ran out unto the man, unto the fountain.Or Rebecca aveva un fratello chiamato Labano.
And it came to pass, when he saw the earring and bracelets upon his sister's hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me; that he came unto the man; and, behold, he stood by the camels at the well. And it came to pass, when he saw the ring, and the bracelets upon his sister`s hands, and when he heard the words of Rebekah his sister, saying, Thus spake the man unto me. That he came unto the man. And, behold, he was standing by the camels at the fountain.
And he said, Come in, thou blessed of the LORD; wherefore standest thou without? for I have prepared the house, and room for the camels. And he said, Come in, thou blessed of Jehovah. Wherefore standest thou without? For I have prepared the house, and room for the camels.E disse: Entra, benedetto dall'Eterno!
And the man came into the house: and he ungirded his camels, and gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet, and the men's feet that were with him.L'homme entra donc dans la maison, et Laban déharnacha les chameaux, et donna de la paille et du fourrage aux chameaux, et de l'eau, pour laver ses pieds et les pieds des gens qui étaient avec lui. And the man came into the house, and he ungirded the camels. And he gave straw and provender for the camels, and water to wash his feet and the feet of the men that were with him.L'uomo entrò in casa, e Labano scaricò i cammelli diede strame e foraggio ai cammelli e portò acqua per lavare i piedi di lui e i piedi degli uomini che erano con lui.
And there was set meat before him to eat: but he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.Et on lui présenta à manger. Mais il dit: Je ne mangerai point, que je n'aie dit ce que j'ai à dire. Et Laban dit: Parle. And there was set food before him to eat. But he said, I will not eat, until I have told mine errand. And he said, Speak on.Poi gli fu posto davanti da mangiare; ma egli disse: Non mangerò finché non abbia fatto la mia ambasciata. L'altro disse: Parla.
And he said, I am Abraham's servant.Alors il dit: Je suis serviteur d'Abraham.And he said, I am Abraham`s servant.
And the LORD hath blessed my master greatly; and he is become great: and he hath given him flocks, and herds, and silver, and gold, and menservants, and maidservants, and camels, and asses. And Jehovah hath blessed my master greatly. And he is become great. And he hath given him flocks and herds, and silver and gold, and men-servants and maid-servants, and camels and asses.L'Eterno ha benedetto abbondantemente il mio signore, che è divenuto grande; gli ha dato pecore e buoi, argento e oro, servi e serve, cammelli e asini.
And Sarah my master's wife bare a son to my master when she was old: and unto him hath he given all that he hath.Et Sara, femme de mon seigneur, a enfanté un fils à mon seigneur, après être devenue vieille, et il lui a donné tout ce qu'il a.And Sarah my master`s wife bare a son to my master when she was old. And unto him hath he given all that he hath.
And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell:Et mon seigneur m'a fait jurer, en disant: Tu ne prendras point de femme pour mon fils, parmi les filles des Cananéens, dans le pays desquels j'habite.And my master made me swear, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, in whose land I dwell.E il mio signore mi ha fatto giurare, dicendo: "Non prenderai per mio figlio una moglie tra i figli dei Cananei, nel paese dei quali dimoro;
But thou shalt go unto my father's house, and to my kindred, and take a wife unto my son. But thou shalt go unto my father`s house, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son.ma andrai alla casa di mio padre e al mio parentado e là prenderai una moglie per mio figlio".
And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.Et je dis à mon seigneur: Peut-être que la femme ne me suivra pas.And I said unto my master, Peradventure the woman will not follow me.Allora io dissi al mio padrone: "Può darsi che la donna non mi voglia seguire".
And he said unto me, The LORD, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way; and thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father's house:Et il me répondit: L'Éternel, devant la face de qui je marche, enverra son ange avec toi, et fera réussir ton voyage, et tu prendras une femme pour mon fils, de ma parenté et de la maison de mon père.And he said unto me, Jehovah, before whom I walk, will send his angel with thee, and prosper thy way. And thou shalt take a wife for my son of my kindred, and of my father`s house.
Then shalt thou be clear from this my oath, when thou comest to my kindred; and if they give not thee one, thou shalt be clear from my oath.Tu seras quitte du serment solennel que tu me fais, quand tu seras allé vers ma parenté; et si on ne te la donne pas, tu seras quitte du serment solennel que tu me fais.Then shalt thou be clear from my oath, when thou comest to my kindred. And if they give her not to thee, thou shalt be clear from my oath.
And I came this day unto the well, and said, O LORD God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go:Et quand je suis venu aujourd'hui à la source, j'ai dit: Éternel, Dieu de mon seigneur Abraham! si tu daignes faire réussir le voyage que j'ai entrepris, And I came this day unto the fountain, and said, O Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, if now thou do prosper my way which I go.Oggi sono arrivato alla fonte e ho detto: "O Eterno, DIO del mio signore Abrahamo, se così ti piace, ti prego di far prosperare il viaggio che ho intrapreso;
Behold, I stand by the well of water; and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin cometh forth to draw water, and I say to her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water of thy pitcher to drink;Voici, je me tiens près de la source: que la jeune fille qui sortira pour puiser, et à qui je dirai: Donne-moi, je te prie, à boire un peu de l'eau de ta cruche,Behold, I am standing by the fountain of water. And let it come to pass, that the maiden that cometh forth to draw, to whom I shall say, Give me, I pray thee, a little water from thy pitcher to drink.ecco, io mi fermo presso la fonte d'acqua; fa' che la fanciulla che uscirà ad attingere acqua e alla quale dirò: "Deh, lasciami bere un po' d'acqua dalla tua brocca",
And she say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels: let the same be the woman whom the LORD hath appointed out for my master's son. And she shall say to me, Both drink thou, and I will also draw for thy camels. Let the same be the woman whom Jehovah hath appointed for my master`s son.e che mi dirà: "Bevi pure e ne attingerò anche per i tuoi cammelli", sia la moglie che l'Eterno ha destinato al figlio del mio signore.
And before I had done speaking in mine heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder; and she went down unto the well, and drew water: and I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee. Et je lui ai dit: Donne-moi à boire, je te prie;And before I had done speaking in my heart, behold, Rebekah came forth with her pitcher on her shoulder. And she went down unto the fountain, and drew. And I said unto her, Let me drink, I pray thee.
And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also: so I drank, and she made the camels drink also. And she made haste, and let down her pitcher from her shoulder, and said, Drink, and I will give thy camels drink also. So I drank, and she made the camels drink also."Deh, lasciami bere!".
And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, the daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bare unto him: and I put the earring upon her face, and the bracelets upon her hands. And I asked her, and said, Whose daughter art thou? And she said, The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor`s son, whom Milcah bare unto him. And I put the ring upon her nose, and the bracelets upon her hands.
And I bowed down my head, and worshipped the LORD, and blessed the LORD God of my master Abraham, which had led me in the right way to take my master's brother's daughter unto his son. And I bowed my head, and worshipped Jehovah, and blessed Jehovah, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me in the right way to take my master`s brother`s daughter for his son.
And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me: and if not, tell me; that I may turn to the right hand, or to the left. And now if ye will deal kindly and truly with my master, tell me. And if not, tell me. That I may turn to the right hand, or to the left.E ora, se volete usare benevolenza e fedeltà verso il mio signore, ditemelo; se no, ditemelo lo stesso e io mi volgerò a destra o a sinistra.
Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from the LORD: we cannot speak unto thee bad or good. Then Laban and Bethuel answered and said, The thing proceedeth from Jehovah. We cannot speak unto thee bad or good.Allora Labano e Bethuel risposero e dissero: La cosa procede dall'Eterno; noi non possiamo parlarti né in bene né in male.
Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master's son's wife, as the LORD hath spoken. Behold, Rebekah is before thee, take her, and go, and let her be thy master`s son`s wife, as Jehovah hath spoken.
And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's servant heard their words, he worshipped the LORD, bowing himself to the earth. And it came to pass, that, when Abraham`s servant heard their words, he bowed himself down to the earth unto Jehovah.
And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah: he gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things. And the servant brought forth jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and gave them to Rebekah. He gave also to her brother and to her mother precious things.
And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night; and they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master. And they did eat and drink, he and the men that were with him, and tarried all night. And they rose up in the morning, and he said, Send me away unto my master.
And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us a few days, at the least ten; after that she shall go.Et son frère et sa mère dirent: Que la jeune fille demeure avec nous quelques jours, une dizaine; puis elle s'en ira.And her brother and her mother said, Let the damsel abide with us [a few] days, at the least ten. After that she shall go.Il fratello e la madre di Rebecca dissero: Lascia che la fanciulla rimanga alcuni giorni con noi, almeno una diecina; poi se ne può andare.
And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing the LORD hath prospered my way; send me away that I may go to my master. And he said unto them, Hinder me not, seeing Jehovah hath prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.
And they said, We will call the damsel, and enquire at her mouth. And they said, We will call the damsel, and inquire at her mouth.Allora essi dissero: Chiamiamo la fanciulla e chiediamo a lei stessa.
And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.Ils appelèrent donc Rébecca et lui dirent: Veux-tu aller avec cet homme? Et elle répondit: J'irai. And they called Rebekah, and said unto her, Wilt thou go with this man? And she said, I will go.Allora chiamarono Rebecca e le dissero: Vuoi andare con quest'uomo?. Ella rispose: Si, andrò.
And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham's servant, and his men. And they sent away Rebekah their sister, and her nurse, and Abraham`s servant, and his men.
And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Thou art our sister, be thou the mother of thousands of millions, and let thy seed possess the gate of those which hate them. And they blessed Rebekah, and said unto her, Our sister, be thou [the mother] of thousands of ten thousands, and let thy seed possess the gate of those that hate them.E benedissero Rebecca e le dissero: Sorella nostra, possa tu divenire madre di migliaia di miriadi e possa la tua discendenza possedere la porta dei suoi nemici.
And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man: and the servant took Rebekah, and went his way. And Rebekah arose, and her damsels, and they rode upon the camels, and followed the man. And the servant took Rebekah, and went his way.
And Isaac came from the way of the well Lahairoi; for he dwelt in the south country. And Isaac came from the way of Beer-lahai-roi. For he dwelt in the land of the South.
And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide. And he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, there were camels coming.
And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel.Rébecca leva aussi les yeux, vit Isaac, et se jeta à bas du chameau.And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she alighted from the camel.
For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. And she said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant said, It is my master. And she took her veil, and covered herself.e disse al servo: Chi è quell'uomo che viene nel campo incontro a noi?. Il servo rispose: E' il mio signore. Allora ella, preso il velo, si coprì.
And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And the servant told Isaac all the things that he had done.
And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her: and Isaac was comforted after his mother's death. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah`s tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife. And he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother`s death.
