| 1 | Et l'Éternel lui apparut auprès des chênes de Mamré; et il était assis à l'entrée de la tente, pendant la chaleur du jour. | And Jehovah appeared unto him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day; | L'Eterno apparve ad Abrahamo alle querce di Mamre, mentre egli sedeva all'ingresso della tenda durante il caldo del giorno. |
| 2 | Et il leva les yeux et regarda; et voici, trois hommes se tenaient près de lui; et quand il les vit; il courut de l'entrée de la tente à leur rencontre, et se prosterna en terre; | and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood over against him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth, | Abrahamo alzò gli occhi ed ecco, tre uomini stavano in piedi accanto a lui. Appena li vide, corse loro incontro dall'ingresso della tenda, si prostrò fino a terra e disse: |
| 3 | et il dit: Seigneur, si j'ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ne passe point outre, je te prie, d'auprès de ton serviteur. | and said, My lord, if now I have found favor in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant: | Signor mio, se ho trovato grazia davanti a te, ti prego non passar senza fermarti dal tuo servo! |
| 4 | Qu'on prenne, je te prie, un peu d'eau, et vous laverez vos pieds, et vous vous reposerez sous l'arbre; | let now a little water be fetched, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree: | Deh, lasciate che si porti un po' d'acqua, affinché possiate lavarvi i piedi, e riposatevi sotto questo albero. |
| 5 | et je prendrai un morceau de pain, et vous réconforterez votre coeur, après quoi vous passerez outre; car c'est pour cela que vous avez passé près de votre serviteur. Et ils dirent: Fais ainsi, comme tu l'as dit. | and I will fetch a morsel of bread, and strengthen ye your heart; after that ye shall pass on: forasmuch as ye are come to your servant. And they said, So do, as thou hast said. | Io andrò a prendere un pezzo di pane, così potrete rinfrancare il vostro cuore; poi proseguirete il vostro cammino perché per questo siete passati dal vostro servo. Quelli dissero: Fa' come hai detto. |
| 6 | Et Abraham alla en hâte dans la tente vers Sara, et dit: Prends vite trois mesures de fleur de farine, pétris, et fais des gâteaux. | And Abraham hastened into the tent unto Sarah, and said, Make ready quickly three measures of fine meal, knead it, and make cakes. | Allora Abrahamo andò in fretta nella tenda, da Sara, e le disse: Presto prendi tre misure di fior di farina, impastala e fanne delle focacce. |
| 7 | Et Abraham courut au troupeau, et pris un veau tendre et bon, et le donna à un jeune homme qui se hâta de l'apprêter. | And Abraham ran unto the herd, and fetched a calf tender and good, and gave it unto the servant; and he hasted to dress it. | Poi Abrahamo corse all'armento, scelse un vitello tenero e buono, lo diede a un servo, e si affrettò a prepararlo. |
| 8 | Et il prit de la crème et du lait, et le veau qu'il avait apprêté, et le mit devant eux, et il se tint auprès d'eux sous l'arbre, et ils mangèrent. | And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat. | Prese poi della cagliata, del latte e il vitello che aveva preparato, e li pose davanti a loro; mentre essi mangiavano, egli rimase in piedi accanto a loro, sotto l'albero. |
| 9 | Et ils lui dirent: Où est Sara, ta femme? Et il dit: Voici, dans la tente. | And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? And he said, Behold, in the tent. | Poi essi gli dissero: Dov'è Sara tua moglie?. Abrahamo rispose: E là nella tenda. |
| 10 | Et il dit: Je reviendrai certainement vers toi quand son terme sera là, et voici, Sara, ta femme, aura un fils. Et Sara écoutait à l'entrée de la tente, qui était derrière lui. | And he said, I will certainly return unto thee when the season cometh round; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard in the tent door, which was behind him. | Ed egli disse: Tornerò certamente da te l'anno prossimo a questo tempo; ed ecco, Sara tua moglie avrà un figlio. E Sara ascoltava all'ingresso della tenda, che era dietro di lui. |
| 11 | Or Abraham et Sara étaient vieux, avancés en âge; Sara avait cessé d'avoir ce qu'ont les femmes. | Now Abraham and Sarah were old, [and] well stricken in age; it had ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. | Ora Abrahamo e Sara erano vecchi, di età avanzata, e Sara non aveva più i ricorsi ordinari delle donne. |
| 12 | Et Sara rit en elle-même, disant: Étant vieille, aurai-je du plaisir?... mon seigneur aussi est âgé. | And Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? | Perciò Sara rise dentro di sé, dicendo: Vecchia come sono, avrei io tali piaceri, dato che il mio stesso signore è vecchio?. |
| 13 | Et l'Éternel dit à Abraham: Pourquoi Sara a-t-elle ri, disant: Est-ce que vraiment j'aurai un enfant, moi qui suis vieille? | And Jehovah said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, who am old? | E l'Eterno disse ad Abrahamo: Perché mai ha riso Sara dicendo: "Partorirò io per davvero, vecchia come sono?". |
| 14 | Y a-t-il quelque chose qui soit trop difficile pour l'Éternel? Au temps fixé je reviendrai vers toi, quand son terme sera là, et Sara aura un fils. | Is anything too hard for Jehovah? At the set time I will return unto thee, when the season cometh round, and Sarah shall have a son. | Vi è forse qualcosa che sia troppo difficile per l'Eterno? Al tempo fissato, fra un anno, ritornerò da te, e Sara avrà un figlio. |
| 15 | Sara le nia, disant: Je n'ai pas ri; car elle eut peur. Et il dit: Non, car tu as ri. | Then Sarah denied, saying, I laughed not; for she was afraid. And he said, Nay; but thou didst laugh. | Allora Sara negò, dicendo: Non ho riso, perché ebbe paura. Ma egli disse: Invece hai riso!. |
| 16 | Et les hommes se levèrent de là, et regardèrent du côté de Sodome; et Abraham allait avec eux pour leur faire la conduite. | And the men rose up from thence, and looked toward Sodom: and Abraham went with them to bring them on the way. | Poi quegli uomini si alzarono di là e volsero gli sguardi verso Sodoma; e Abrahamo camminava con loro per accomiatarli. |
| 17 | Et l'Éternel dit: Cacherai-je à Abraham ce que je vais faire, | And Jehovah said, Shall I hide from Abraham that which I do; | E l'Eterno disse: Celerò io ad Abrahamo quello che sto per fare |
| 18 | puisque Abraham doit certainement, devenir une nation grande et forte, et qu'en lui seront bénies toutes les nations de la terre? | seeing that Abraham had surely become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth shall be blessed in him? | poiché Abrahamo deve diventare una nazione grande e potente e in lui saranno benedette tutte le nazioni della terra? |
| 19 | Car je le connais, et je sais qu'il commandera à ses fils et à sa maison après lui de garder la voie de l'Éternel, pour pratiquer ce qui est juste et droit, afin que l'Éternel fasse venir sur Abraham ce qu'il a dit à son égard. | For I have known him, to the end that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice; to the end that Jehovah may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. | Io infatti l'ho scelto, perché ordini ai suoi figli e alla sua casa dopo di lui di seguire la via dell'Eterno, mettendo in pratica la giustizia e l'equità, perché l'Eterno possa compiere per Abrahamo ciò che gli ha promesso. |
| 20 | Et l'Éternel dit: Parce que le cri de Sodome et de Gomorrhe est grand, et que leur péché est très-aggravé, et bien, | And Jehovah said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; | E l'Eterno disse: Siccome il grido che sale da Sodoma e Gomorra è grande e siccome il loro peccato è molto grave, |
| 21 | je descendrai, et je verrai s'ils ont fait entièrement selon le cri qui est venu jusqu'à moi; et sinon, je le saurai. | I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know. | io scenderò per vedere se hanno veramente fatto secondo il grido che è giunto a me; in caso contrario, lo saprò. |
| 22 | Et les hommes se détournèrent de là, et ils allaient vers Sodome; et Abraham se tenait encore devant l'Éternel. | And the men turned from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before Jehovah. | Poi quegli uomini si allontanarono di là e si avviarono verso Sodoma; ma Abrahamo rimase ancora davanti all'Eterno. |
| 23 | Et Abraham s'approcha, et dit: Feras-tu périr le juste avec le méchant? | And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou consume the righteous with the wicked? | Allora Abrahamo si avvicinò e disse: Farai perire il giusto insieme con l'empio? |
| 24 | Peut-être y a-t-il cinquante justes dans la ville; la détruiras-tu, et ne pardonneras-tu pas à la ville à cause des cinquante justes qui seront en elle? | Peradventure there are fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein? | Ammesso che ci siano cinquanta giusti nella città. distruggeresti tu il luogo e non lo risparmieresti per amore dei cinquanta giusti che si trovano nel suo mezzo? |
| 25 | Loin de toi d'agir de cette manière, de faire mourir le juste avec le méchant, et qu'il en soit du juste comme du méchant! Loin de toi! Le juge de toute la terre ne fera-t-il pas ce qui est juste? | That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked, that so the righteous should be as the wicked; that be far from thee: shall not the Judge of all the earth do right? | Lungi da te il fare tale cosa: far morire il giusto con l'empio, cosicché il giusto sia trattato come l'empio; lungi da te! Il giudice di tutta la terra non farà egli giustizia?. |
| 26 | Et l'Éternel dit: Si je trouve dans Sodome cinquante justes, au dedans de la ville, je pardonnerai à tout le lieu à cause d'eux. | And Jehovah said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sake. | L'Eterno disse: Se trovo nella città di Sodoma cinquanta giusti, io risparmierò l'intero luogo per amor loro. |
| 27 | Et Abraham répondit et dit: Voici, je te prie, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur, moi qui suis poussière et cendre. | And Abraham answered and said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord, who am but dust and ashes: | Allora Abrahamo riprese e disse: Ecco, prendo l'ardire di parlare al Signore, benché io non sia che polvere e cenere. |
| 28 | Peut-être en manquera-t-il cinq, des cinquante justes; détruiras-tu pour cinq toute la ville? Et il dit: Je ne la détruirai pas, si j'y en trouve quarante-cinq. | peradventure there shall lack five of the fifty righteous: wilt thou destroy all the city for lack of five? And he said, I will not destroy it, if I find there forty and five. | Ammesso che a quei cinquanta giusti ne manchino cinque. distruggeresti tu l'intera città per cinque di meno?. l'Eterno rispose: Se ve ne trovo quarantacinque, non la distruggerò. |
| 29 | Et il continua encore de lui parler, et dit: Peut-être s'y en trouvera-t-il quarante? Et il dit: Je ne le ferai pas, à cause des quarante. | And he spake unto him yet again, and said, Peradventure there shall be forty found there. And he said, I will not do it for the forty`s sake. | Abrahamo continuò a parlargli e disse: Ammesso che in città se ne trovino quaranta?. E l'Eterno: Non lo farò, per amor dei quaranta. |
| 30 | Et il dit: Je te prie, que le Seigneur ne s'irrite pas, et je parlerai: Peut-être s'y en trouvera-t-il trente? Et il dit: Je ne le ferai pas, si j'y en trouve trente. | And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak: peradventure there shall thirty be found there. And he said, I will not do it, if I find thirty there. | Allora Abrahamo disse: Deh, non si adiri il Signore, ed io parlerò. Ammesso che in città se ne trovino trenta?. L'Eterno rispose: Non lo Farò se ve ne trovo trenta. |
| 31 | Et il dit: Voici, j'ai osé parler au Seigneur: Peut-être s'y en trouvera-t-il vingt? Et il dit: Je ne la détruirai pas, à cause des vingt. | And he said, Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord: peradventure there shall be twenty found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the twenty`s sake. | E Abrahamo disse: Ecco, prendo l'ardire di parlare al Signore. Ammesso che in città se ne trovino venti?. L'Eterno rispose: Non la distruggerò, per amor dei venti. |
| 32 | Et il dit: Je te prie, que le Seigneur ne s'irrite pas, et je parlerai encore une seule fois: Peut-être s'y en trouvera-t-il dix? Et il dit: Je ne la détruirai pas, à cause des dix. | And he said, Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak yet but this once: peradventure ten shall be found there. And he said, I will not destroy it for the ten`s sake. | E Abrahamo disse: Deh, non si adiri il Signore e io parlerò ancora questa volta soltanto. Ammesso che in città se ne trovino dieci?. L'Eterno rispose: Non la distruggerò per amore dei dieci. |
| 33 | Et l'Éternel s'en alla quand il eut achevé de parler à Abraham; et Abraham s'en retourna en son lieu. | And Jehovah went his way, as soon as he had left off communing with Abraham: and Abraham returned unto his place. | Come l'Eterno ebbe finito di parlare ad Abrahamo. se ne andò. E Abrahamo tornò alla sua dimora. |
