| 1 | After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. | Après ces choses, la parole de l'Eternel fut adressée à Abram dans une vision, en disant: Abram, ne crains point, je suis ton bouclier, et ta grande récompense. | Dopo queste cose, la parola dell'Eterno fu rivolta in visione ad Abramo, dicendo: Non temere o Abramo, io sono il tuo scudo, e la tua ricompensa sarà grandissima. |
| 2 | And Abram said, LORD God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? | Et Abram répondit: Seigneur Eternel, que me donneras-tu? je m'en vais sans laisser d'enfants après moi, et celui qui a le maniement de ma maison c'est ce Dammésec Elihézer. | Ma Abramo disse: Signore, Eterno, che mi darai, perché sono senza figli e l'erede della mia casa è Eliezer di Damasco?. |
| 3 | And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. | Abram dit aussi: Voici, tu ne m'as point donné d'enfants; et voilà, le serviteur né dans ma maison, sera mon héritier. | Poi Abramo soggiunse: tu non mi hai dato alcuna discendenza; Ora ecco, uno nato in casa mia sarà mio erede. |
| 4 | And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. | Et voici, la parole de l'Eternel lui fut adressée en disant: Celui-ci ne sera point ton héritier; mais celui qui sortira de tes entrailles sera ton héritier. | Allora la parola dell'Eterno gli fu rivolta, dicendo: Questi non sarà tuo erede; ma colui che uscirà dalle tue viscere sarà tuo erede. |
| 5 | And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. | Puis l'ayant fait sortir dehors, il lui dit: Lève maintenant les yeux au ciel, et compte les étoiles, si tu les peux compter; et il lui dit: Ainsi sera ta postérité. | Poi lo condusse fuori e gli disse: Mira il cielo e conta le stelle, se le puoi contare, quindi aggiunse: Così sarà la tua discendenza. |
| 6 | And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness. | Et Abram crut à l'Eternel, qui lui imputa cela à justice. | Ed egli credette all'Eterno, che glielo mise in conto di giustizia. |
| 7 | And he said unto him, I am the LORD that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. | Et il lui dit: Je suis l'Eternel qui t'ai fait sortir d'Ur des Caldéens, afin de te donner ce pays-ci pour le posséder. | Poi l'Eterno gli disse: Io sono l'Eterno che ti ho fatto uscire da Ur dei Caldei, per darti questo paese in eredità. |
| 8 | And he said, LORD God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it? | Et il dit: Seigneur Eternel, à quoi connaîtrai-je que je le posséderai? | E Abramo chiese: Signore, Eterno da che cosa posso io sapere che l'avrò in eredità?. |
| 9 | And he said unto him, Take me an heifer of three years old, and a she goat of three years old, and a ram of three years old, and a turtledove, and a young pigeon. | Et il lui répondit: Prends une génisse de trois ans, et une chèvre de trois ans, et un bélier de trois ans, une tourterelle, et un pigeon. | Allora l'Eterno gli disse: Portami una giovenca di tre anni, una capra di tre anni, un montone di tre anni, una tortora e un piccione giovane. |
| 10 | And he took unto him all these, and divided them in the midst, and laid each piece one against another: but the birds divided he not. | Il prit donc toutes ces choses, et les partagea par le milieu, et mit chaque moitié vis-à-vis l'une de l'autre; mais il ne partagea point les oiseaux. | Allora Abramo gli portò tutti questi animali, li divise in due e pose ciascuna metà di fronte all'altra; ma non divise gli uccelli. |
| 11 | And when the fowls came down upon the carcases, Abram drove them away. | Et une volée d'oiseaux descendit sur ces bêtes mortes; mais Abram les chassa. | Ora alcuni uccelli rapaci calarono sulle bestie morte ma Abramo li scacciò. |
| 12 | And when the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram; and, lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. | Et il arriva comme le soleil se couchait, qu'un profond sommeil tomba sur Abram, et voici, une frayeur d'une grande obscurité tomba sur lui. | Verso il tramontare del sole, un profondo sonno cadde su Abramo; ed ecco, uno spavento una oscurità profonda caddero su di lui. |
| 13 | And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not their's, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years; | Et l'Eternel dit à Abram: Sache comme une chose certaine que ta postérité habitera quatre cents ans comme étrangère dans un pays qui ne lui appartiendra point, et qu'elle sera asservie aux habitants du pays, et sera affligée; | Allora l'Eterno disse ad Abramo: Sappi per certo che i tuoi discendenti dimoreranno come stranieri in un paese che non sarà loro, e vi saranno schiavi e saranno oppressi per quattrocento anni. |
| 14 | And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance. | Mais aussi je jugerai la nation, à laquelle ils seront asservis, et après cela ils sortiront avec de grands biens. | Ma io giudicherò la nazione di cui saranno stati servi; dopo questo, essi usciranno con grandi ricchezze. |
| 15 | And thou shalt go to thy fathers in peace; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. | Et toi tu t'en iras vers tes pères en paix, et seras enterré en bonne vieillesse. | Quanto a te, te ne andrai in pace presso i tuoi padri, e sarai sepolto dopo una bella vecchiaia. |
| 16 | But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full. | Et en la quatrième génération ils retourneront ici; car l'iniquité des Amorrhéens n'est pas encore venue à son comble. | Ma alla quarta generazione essi torneranno qui, perché l'iniquità degli Amorei non è ancora giunta al colmo. |
| 17 | And it came to pass, that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold a smoking furnace, and a burning lamp that passed between those pieces. | Il arriva aussi que le soleil étant couché, il y eut une obscurité toute noire, et voici un four fumant, et un brandon de feu qui passa entre ces choses qui avaient été partagées. | Ora come il sole si fu coricato e scesero le tenebre, ecco una fornace fumante ed una torcia di fuoco passare in mezzo agli animali divisi. |
| 18 | In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: | En ce jour-là l'Eternel traita alliance avec Abram, en disant: J'ai donné ce pays à ta postérité, depuis le fleuve d'Egypte jusqu'au grand fleuve, le fleuve d'Euphrate; | In quel giorno l'Eterno fece un patto con Abramo dicendo: Io do alla tua discendenza questo paese, dal torrente d'Egitto al grande fiume, il fiume Eufrate: |
