| 1 | Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD: | Et toi, fils d'homme, prophétise aussi touchant les montagnes d'Israël, et dis: montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole de l'Eternel. |
| 2 | Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession: | Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: parce que l'ennemi a dit contre vous: ha! ha! Tous les lieux haut élevés, qui même sont d'ancienneté, sont devenus notre possession. |
| 3 | Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people: | C'est pourquoi prophétise, et dis: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: parce, oui, parce qu'on vous a réduites en désolation, et que ceux d'alentour, vous ont englouties, afin que vous fussiez en possession au reste des nations, et qu'on vous a exposées à la langue et aux insultes des nations. |
| 4 | Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about; | A cause de cela, montagnes d'Israël, écoutez la parole du Seigneur l'Eternel: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel aux montagnes, et aux coteaux, aux courants d'eaux, et aux vallées, aux lieux détruits et désolés, et aux villes abandonnées qui ont été en pillage et en moquerie au reste des nations qui sont tout à l'entour; |
| 5 | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey. | A cause de cela, dis-je, ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: si je ne parle en l'ardeur de ma jalousie contre le reste des nations, et contre tous ceux d'Idumée qui se sont attribué ma terre en possession, avec une joie dont leur coeur était plein, et avec un mépris dont ils se faisaient un grand plaisir, pour la mettre au pillage. |
| 6 | Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen: | C'est pourquoi prophétise touchant la terre d'Israël, et dis aux montagnes, et aux coteaux, aux courants d'eaux, et aux vallées: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, j'ai parlé en ma jalousie, et en ma fureur, parce que vous avez porté l'ignominie des nations. |
| 7 | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame. | C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: j'ai levé ma main, si les nations qui sont tout autour de vous ne portent leur ignominie. |
| 8 | But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come. | Mais vous, montagnes d'Israël, vous pousserez vos branches, et vous porterez votre fruit pour mon peuple d'Israël; car ils sont prêts à venir. |
| 9 | For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown: | Car me voici, je viens à vous, et je retournerai vers vous, et vous serez labourées, et semées. |
| 10 | And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded: | Et je multiplierai les hommes sur vous, savoir la maison d'Israël tout entière, et les villes seront habitées, et les lieux déserts seront rebâtis. |
| 11 | And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. | Et je multiplierai sur vous les hommes et les bêtes, qui y multiplieront, et fructifieront; je ferai que vous serez habités comme anciennement, et je vous ferai plus de bien que vous n'en avez eu au commencement; et vous saurez que je suis l'Eternel. |
| 12 | Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men. | Et je ferai marcher sur vous des hommes, savoir mon peuple d'Israël, qui vous posséderont, vous leur serez en héritage, et vous ne les consumerez plus. |
| 13 | Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations: | Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: parce qu'on dit de vous: tu es un pays qui dévore les hommes, et tu as consumé tes habitants; |
| 14 | Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD. | A cause de cela tu ne dévoreras plus les hommes, et ne consumeras plus tes habitants, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel. |
| 15 | Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD. | Et je ferai que tu n'entendras plus l'ignominie des nations, et que tu ne porteras plus l'opprobre des peuples; et tu ne feras plus périr tes habitants, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel. |
| 16 | Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, | Puis la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en disant: |
| 17 | Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman. | Fils d'homme, ceux de la maison d'Israël habitant en leur terre l'ont souillée par leur voie et par leurs actions; leur voie est devenue devant moi telle qu'est la souillure de la femme séparée à cause de son impureté; |
| 18 | Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it: | Et j'ai répandu ma fureur sur eux à cause du sang qu'ils ont répandu sur le pays, et parce qu'ils l'ont souillé par leurs idoles. |
| 19 | And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them. | Et je les ai dispersés parmi les nations, et ils ont été répandus par les pays; je les ai jugés selon leur voie, et selon leurs actions. |
| 20 | And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land. | Et étant venus parmi les nations au milieu desquelles ils sont venus, ils ont profané le Nom de ma Sainteté, en ce qu'on a dit d'eux: ceux-ci sont le peuple de l'Eternel, et cependant ils sont sortis de son pays. |
| 21 | But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went. | Mais j'ai épargné le Nom de ma Sainteté, lequel la maison d'Israël avait profané parmi les nations au milieu desquelles ils étaient venus. |
| 22 | Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. | C'est pourquoi dis à la maison d'Israël: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: je ne le fais point à cause de vous, ô maison d'Israël! mais à cause du Nom de ma Sainteté, que vous avez profané parmi les nations au milieu desquelles vous êtes venus. |
| 23 | And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes. | Et je sanctifierai mon grand Nom, qui a été profané parmi les nations, et que vous avez profané parmi elles; et les nations sauront que je suis l'Eternel, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel, quand je serai sanctifié en vous, en leur présence. |
| 24 | For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. | Je vous retirerai donc d'entre les nations, je vous rassemblerai de tous pays, et je vous ramènerai en votre terre. |
| 25 | Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. | Et je répandrai sur vous des eaux nettes, et vous serez nettoyés; je vous nettoierai de toutes vos souillures, et de toutes vos idoles. |
| 26 | A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. | Je vous donnerai un nouveau coeur, je mettrai au dedans de vous un Esprit nouveau; j'ôterai de votre chair le coeur de pierre, et je vous donnerai un coeur de chair. |
| 27 | And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. | Et je mettrai mon Esprit au dedans de vous, je ferai que vous marcherez dans mes statuts, et que vous garderez mes ordonnances, et les ferez. |
| 28 | And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God. | Et vous demeurerez au pays que j'ai donné à vos pères, et vous serez mon peuple, et je serai votre Dieu. |
| 29 | I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you. | Je vous délivrerai de toutes vos souillures, j'appellerai le froment, je le multiplierai, et je ne vous enverrai plus la famine; |
| 30 | And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen. | Mais je multiplierai le fruit des arbres, et le revenu des champs, afin que vous ne portiez plus l'opprobre de la famine entre les nations. |
| 31 | Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations. | Et vous vous souviendrez de votre mauvaise voie et de vos actions, qui n'étaient pas bonnes, et vous détesterez en vous-mêmes vos iniquités, et vos abominations. |
| 32 | Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel. | Je ne le fais point pour l'amour de vous, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel, afin que vous le sachiez. Soyez honteux et confus à cause de votre voie, ô maison d'Israël! |
| 33 | Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. | Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: au jour que je vous aurai purifiés de toutes vos iniquités je vous ferai habiter dans des villes, et les lieux déserts seront rebâtis. |
| 34 | And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by. | Et la terre désolée sera labourée, au lieu qu'elle n'a été que désolation, en la présence de tous les passants. |
| 35 | And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. | Et on dira: cette terre-ci qui était désolée, est devenue comme le jardin d'Héden; et ces villes qui avaient été désertes, désolées, et détruites, sont fortifiées et habitées. |
| 36 | Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it. | Et les nations qui seront demeurées de reste autour de vous sauront que moi l'Eternel j'aurai rebâti les lieux détruits, et planté le pays désolé, moi l'Eternel j'ai parlé, et je le ferai. |
| 37 | Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock. | Ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: encore serai-je recherché par la maison d'Israël, pour leur faire ceci, savoir que je multiplie leurs hommes comme un troupeau de brebis. |
| 38 | As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD. | Les villes qui sont désertes seront remplies de troupes d'hommes, tels que sont les troupeaux des bêtes sanctifiées, tels que sont les troupeaux des bêtes qu'on amène à Jérusalem en ses fêtes solennelles; et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel. |
