| 1 | Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel. | Quindi mi disse: Figlio d'uomo, mangia ciò che tu trovi; mangia questo rotolo, poi va' e parla alla casa d'Israele. |
| 2 | So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll. | Così io apersi la bocca ed egli mi fece mangiare quel rotolo. |
| 3 | And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness. | Poi mi disse: Figlio d'uomo, ciba il tuo ventre e riempi le tue viscere con questo rotolo che ti do. Così io lo mangiai e fu nella mia bocca dolce come il miele. |
| 4 | And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them. | Mi disse ancora: Figlio d'uomo, va', recati alla casa d'Israele e riferisci loro le mie parole, |
| 5 | For thou art not sent to a people of a strange speech and of an hard language, but to the house of Israel; | perché non sei mandato a un popolo dal linguaggio oscuro e dalla lingua difficile, ma alla casa d'Israele, |
| 6 | Not to many people of a strange speech and of an hard language, whose words thou canst not understand. Surely, had I sent thee to them, they would have hearkened unto thee. | non a molti popoli dal linguaggio oscuro e dalla lingua difficile, dei quali non comprendi le parole. Certamente se ti avessi mandato da loro, ti avrebbero ascoltato. |
| 7 | But the house of Israel will not hearken unto thee; for they will not hearken unto me: for all the house of Israel are impudent and hardhearted. | Ma la casa d'Israele non vorrà ascoltarti, perché non vogliono ascoltare me. Infatti tutta la casa d'Israele ha la fronte dura e il cuore ostinato. |
| 8 | Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads. | Ecco, io ho reso la tua faccia dura contro la loro faccia e ho reso la tua fronte dura contro la loro fronte. |
| 9 | As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. | Io ho reso la tua fronte come un diamante, più dura della selce; non temerli, non aver paura di fronte a loro, perché sono una casa ribelle. |
| 10 | Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears. | Poi mi disse: Figlio d'uomo, ricevi nel tuo cuore tutte le parole che ti dirò e ascoltale con le tue orecchie. |
| 11 | And go, get thee to them of the captivity, unto the children of thy people, and speak unto them, and tell them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear. | E va', recati da quelli che sono in cattività, dai figli del tuo popolo, parla loro e di' loro: così dice il Signore, l'Eterno sia che ascoltino o rifiutino di ascoltare. |
| 12 | Then the spirit took me up, and I heard behind me a voice of a great rushing, saying, Blessed be the glory of the LORD from his place. | Quindi lo Spirito mi sollevò e udii dietro a me il suono di un grande fragore che diceva: Benedetta sia la gloria dell'Eterno dalla sua dimora!. |
| 13 | I heard also the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels over against them, and a noise of a great rushing. | Udii pure il rumore delle ali degli esseri viventi che battevano l'una contro l'altra, il rumore delle ruote accanto ad esse, e il suono di un grande fragore. |
| 14 | So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon me. | Così lo Spirito mi sollevò e mi portò via, e io andai pieno di amarezza nello sdegno del mio spirito; ma la mano dell'Eterno era forte su di me. |
| 15 | Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days. | Giunsi quindi da quelli che erano in cattività a Tel-abib presso il fiume Kebara e mi fermai dove essi dimoravano e vi rimasi sette giorni in mezzo a loro, stordito. |
| 16 | And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, | Alla fine dei sette giorni avvenne che la parola dell'Eterno mi fu rivolta, dicendo: |
| 17 | Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. | Figlio d'uomo, io t'ho stabilito come sentinella per la casa d'Israele quando udrai una parola dalla mia bocca, li avvertirai da parte mia. |
| 18 | When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. | Se io dico all'empio: "Certamente morirai" e tu non l'avverti e non parli per avvertire l'empio di abbandonare la sua via malvagia perché salvi la sua vita, quell'empio morirà nella sua iniquità, ma del suo sangue domanderò conto a te. |
| 19 | Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. | Ma se tu avverti l'empio, ed egli non si ritrae dalla sua empietà e dalla sua via malvagia, egli morirà nella sua iniquità, ma tu avrai salvato la tua anima. |
| 20 | Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. | Se poi un giusto si ritrae dalla sua giustizia e commette iniquità, io gli metterò davanti un ostacolo ed egli morirà; poiché tu non l'hai avvertito egli morirà nel suo peccato, e le cose giuste da lui fatte non saranno più ricordate, ma del suo sangue domanderò conto alla tua mano. |
| 21 | Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. | Se però tu avverti il giusto perché non pecchi e non pecca, egli certamente vivrà perché è stato avvertito, e tu avrai salvato la tua anima. |
| 22 | And the hand of the LORD was there upon me; and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and I will there talk with thee. | Là fu quindi su di me la mano dell'Eterno e mi disse: Alzati, esci nella pianura e là io ti parlerò. |
| 23 | Then I arose, and went forth into the plain: and, behold, the glory of the LORD stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chebar: and I fell on my face. | Così mi alzai e uscii nella pianura, ed ecco là stava la gloria dell'Eterno, come la gloria che avevo visto presso il fiume Kebar, e caddi sulla mia faccia. |
| 24 | Then the spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake with me, and said unto me, Go, shut thyself within thine house. | Ma lo Spirito entrò in me, mi fece alzare in piedi e mi parlò e mi disse: Va' chiuditi in casa tua. |
| 25 | But thou, O son of man, behold, they shall put bands upon thee, and shall bind thee with them, and thou shalt not go out among them: | Ed ecco, figlio d'uomo, a te metteranno addosso delle corde, con esse ti legheranno e così non potrai uscire in mezzo a loro. |
| 26 | And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they are a rebellious house. | Io farò aderire la tua lingua al palato e resterai muto, così non sarai più per loro uno che li rimprovera, perché sono una casa ribelle, |
| 27 | But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they are a rebellious house. | Ma quando ti parlerò, ti aprirò la bocca e tu dirai loro: "Così dice il Signore, l'Eterno" Chi vuole ascoltare ascolti, e chi rifiuta di ascoltare rifiuti pure, perché sono una casa ribelle. |
