| 2 | Fils d'homme, tourne ta face contre Pharaon Roi d'Egypte, et prophétise contre lui, et contre toute l'Egypte. | Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt; |
| 3 | Parle, et dis: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, j'en veux à toi, Pharaon Roi d'Egypte, grande Baleine couchée au milieu de tes bras d'eau, qui as dit: mes bras d'eau sont à moi, et je me les suis faits. | speak, and say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I am against thee, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster that lieth in the midst of his rivers, that hath said, My river is mine own, and I have made it for myself. |
| 4 | C'est pourquoi je mettrai des crocs dans tes mâchoires, et je ferai attacher à tes écailles les poissons de tes bras d'eau; et je te tirerai hors de tes bras d'eau, avec tous les poissons de tes bras d'eau, qui auront été attachés à tes écailles. | And I will put hooks in thy jaws, and I will cause the fish of thy rivers to stick unto thy scales; and I will bring thee up out of the midst of thy rivers, with all the fish of thy rivers which stick unto thy scales. |
| 5 | Et t'ayant tiré dans le désert, je te laisserai là, toi, et tous les poissons de tes bras d'eau; tu seras étendu sur le dessus de la campagne; tu ne seras point recueilli ni ramassé; je t'ai livré aux bêtes de la terre, et aux oiseaux des cieux, pour en être dévoré. | And I will cast thee forth into the wilderness, thee and all the fish of thy rivers: thou shalt fall upon the open field; thou shalt not be brought together, nor gathered; I have given thee for food to the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens. |
| 6 | Et tous les habitants d'Egypte sauront que je suis l'Eternel; parce qu'ils auront été à la maison d'Israël un bâton, qui n'était qu'un roseau. | And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am Jehovah, because they have been a staff of reed to the house of Israel. |
| 7 | Quand ils t'ont pris par la main, tu t'es rompu, et tu leur as percé toute l'épaule; et quand ils se sont appuyés sur toi, tu t'es cassé, et tu les as fait tomber à la renverse. | When they took hold of thee by thy hand, thou didst break, and didst rend all their shoulders; and when they leaned upon thee, thou brakest, and madest all their loins to be at a stand. |
| 8 | C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, je m'en vais faire venir l'épée sur toi, et j'exterminerai du milieu de toi les hommes et les bêtes. | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast. |
| 9 | Et le pays d'Egypte sera en désolation et en désert, et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel, parce que le Roi d'Egypte a dit: les bras d'eau sont à moi, et je les ai faits. | And the land of Egypt shall be a desolation and a waste; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. Because he hath said, The river is mine, and I have made it; |
| 10 | C'est pourquoi voici, j'en veux à toi, et à tes bras d'eau, et je réduirai le pays d'Egypte en désert de sécheresse et de désolation, depuis la tour de Syène, jusques aux marches de Cus. | therefore, behold, I am against thee, and against thy rivers, and I will make the land of Egypt an utter waste and desolation, from the tower of Seveneh even unto the border of Ethiopia. |
| 11 | Nul pied d'homme ne passera par là, et il n'y passera non plus aucun pied de bête, et elle sera quarante ans sans être habitée. | No foot of man shall pass through it, nor foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years. |
| 12 | Car je réduirai le pays d'Egypte en désolation entre les pays désolés, et ses villes entre les villes réduites en désert; elles seront en désolation durant quarante ans, je disperserai les Egyptiens parmi les nations, et je les répandrai parmi les pays. | And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries that are desolate; and her cities among the cities that are laid waste shall be a desolation forty years; and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and will disperse them through the countries. |
| 13 | Toutefois, ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: au bout de quarante ans je ramasserai les Egyptiens d'entre les peuples parmi lesquels ils auront été dispersés; | For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: At the end of forty years will I gather the Egyptians from the peoples whither they were scattered; |
| 14 | Et je ramènerai les captifs d'Egypte, et les ferai retourner au pays de Pathros, au pays de leur extraction, mais ils seront là un Royaume abaissé. | and I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return into the land of Pathros, into the land of their birth; and they shall be there a base kingdom. |
| 15 | Il sera le plus bas des Royaumes, et il ne s'élèvera plus au dessus des nations, et je le diminuerai, afin qu'il ne domine point sur les nations. | It shall be the basest of the kingdoms; neither shall it any more lift itself up above the nations: and I will diminish them, that they shall no more rule over the nations. |
| 16 | Et il ne sera plus l'assurance de la maison d'Israël, les faisant souvenir de leur iniquité quand les enfants d'Israël regardaient après eux; et ils sauront que je suis le Seigneur l'Eternel. | And it shall be no more the confidence of the house of Israel, bringing iniquity to remembrance, when they turn to look after them: and they shall know that I am the Lord Jehovah. |
| 17 | Et il arriva la vingt-septième année, au premier jour du premier mois, que la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en disant: | And it came to pass in the seven and twentieth year, in the first [month], in the first [day] of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 18 | Fils d'homme, Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone a fait servir son armée dans un service pénible contre Tyr; toute tête en est devenue chauve, et toute épaule en a été foulée, mais il n'a point eu de salaire, ni lui, ni son armée, à cause de Tyr, pour le service qu'il a fait contre elle. | Son of man, Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon caused his army to serve a great service against Tyre: every head was made bald, and every shoulder was worn; yet had he no wages, nor his army, from Tyre, for the service that he had served against it. |
| 19 | C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: voici, je m'en vais donner à Nébucadnetsar Roi de Babylone le pays d'Egypte; et il en enlèvera la multitude, il en emportera le butin, et en fera le pillage; et ce sera là le salaire de son armée. | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon; and he shall carry off her multitude, and take her spoil, and take her prey; and it shall be the wages for his army. |
| 20 | Pour le salaire de l'ouvrage auquel il a servi contre Tyr, je lui ai donné le pays d'Egypte, parce qu'ils ont travaillé pour moi, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel. | I have given him the land of Egypt as his recompense for which he served, because they wrought for me, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 21 | En ce jour-là je ferai germer la corne de la maison d'Israël, et j'ouvrirai ta bouche au milieu d'eux, et ils sauront que je suis l'Eternel. | In that day will I cause a horn to bud forth unto the house of Israel, and I will give thee the opening of the mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am Jehovah. |
