| 1 | La onzième année, le premier du mois, la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes : | And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first [day] of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 2 | "Fils de l'homme, parce que Tyr a dit de Jérusalem : Ha! Ha! elle est brisée, la porte des peuples! on se tourne vers moi; je vais me remplir! elle est devenue un désert! -- | Son of man, because that Tyre hath said against Jerusalem, Aha, she is broken [that was] the gate of the peoples; she is turned unto me; I shall be replenished, now that she is laid waste: |
| 3 | à cause de cela ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Voici que je viens contre toi, Tyr! Je vais faire monter contre toi des nations nombreuses, comme la mer fait monter ses flots. | therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I am against thee, O Tyre, and will cause many nations to come up against thee, as the sea causeth its waves to come up. |
| 4 | Elles détruiront les murs de Tyr, et abattront ses tours; je balaierai loin d'elle sa poussière, et je ferai d'elle un rocher nu. | And they shall destroy the walls of Tyre, and break down her towers: I will also scrape her dust from her, and make her a bare rock. |
| 5 | Elle sera, au milieu de la mer, un lieu où l'on étend les filets; car moi l'ai parlé, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh; elle sera la proie des nations. | She shall be a place for the spreading of nets in the midst of the sea; for I have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah; and she shall become a spoil to the nations. |
| 6 | Ses filles qui sont sur la terre ferme seront tuées par l'épée, et on saura que je suis Yahweh. | And her daughters that are in the field shall be slain with the sword: and they shall know that I am Jehovah. |
| 7 | Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Voici que je vais amener du septentrion contre Tyr; Nabuchodonosor, roi de Babylone, le roi des rois, avec des chevaux, des chars, des cavaliers, et une multitude de troupes et un peuple nombreux. | For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will bring upon Tyre Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, king of kings, from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and a company, and much people. |
| 8 | Il tuera par l'épée tes filles sur la terre ferme, Il construira contre toi des murs, il élèvera contre toi des terrasses, et dressera contre toi la tortue. | He shall slay with the sword thy daughters in the field; and he shall make forts against thee, and cast up a mound against thee, and raise up the buckler against thee. |
| 9 | Il dirigera contre tes murs le choc de ses béliers; et démolira tes tours avec ses crochets. | And he shall set his battering engines against thy walls, and with his axes he shall break down thy towers. |
| 10 | Telle sera la multitude de ses chevaux que leur poussière te couvrira; au bruit des cavaliers, des roues et des chars, tes murs trembleront, quand il entrera dans tes portes, comme on entre dans une ville forcée. | By reason of the abundance of his horses their dust shall cover thee: thy walls shall shake at the noise of the horsemen, and of the wagons, and of the chariots, when he shall enter into thy gates, as men enter into a city wherein is made a breach. |
| 11 | Du sabot de ses chevaux, il foulera toutes les rues; il tuera ton peuple par l'épée, et tes puissantes colonnes seront jetées par terre. | With the hoofs of his horses shall he tread down all thy streets; he shall slay thy people with the sword; and the pillars of thy strength shall go down to the ground. |
| 12 | Ils enlèveront tes richesses, pilleront tes marchandises, abattront tes murailles, renverseront tes beaux palais, et jetteront au milieu des eaux tes pierres, ton bois et ta poussière. | And they shall make a spoil of thy riches, and make a prey of thy merchandise; and they shall break down thy walls, and destroy thy pleasant houses; and they shall lay thy stones and thy timber and thy dust in the midst of the waters. |
| 13 | Je ferai cesser le bruit de tes chansons, et le son de tes cithares ne se fera plus entendre. | And I will cause the noise of thy songs to cease; and the sound of thy harps shall be no more heard. |
| 14 | Je ferai de toi un rocher nu, tu seras un lieu où l'on étend les filets; tu ne seras plus rebâtie; car moi, Yahweh, j'ai parlé, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. | And I will make thee a bare rock; thou shalt be a place for the spreading of nets; thou shalt be built no more: for I Jehovah have spoken it, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 15 | Ainsi parle à Tyr le Seigneur Yahweh : Au bruit de ta chute, quand tes blessés pousseront des gémissements; quand le carnage sévira au milieu de toi, les îles ne trembleront-elles pas ? | Thus saith the Lord Jehovah to Tyre: shall not the isles shake at the sound of thy fall, when the wounded groan, when the slaughter is made in the midst of thee? |
| 16 | Et ils descendront de leurs trônes, tous les princes de la mer; ils quitteront leurs manteaux, et déposeront leurs vêtements brodés; ils se vêtiront d'épouvante, ils s'assureront sur la terre; ils trembleront à chaque moment, et seront dans la stupeur à cause de toi. | Then all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their broidered garments: they shall clothe themselves with trembling; they shall sit upon the ground, and shall tremble every moment, and be astonished at thee. |
| 17 | Et ils prononceront sur toi une complainte, et ils te diront : "Comment as-tu péri, toi qui te dressais au sein des mers ô toi ville célèbre, qui étais puissante sur la mer, toi et tes habitants, alors qu'ils inspiraient la terreur à tous les habitants de la mer." | And they shall take up a lamentation over thee, and say to thee, How art thou destroyed, that wast inhabited by seafaring men, the renowned city, that was strong in the sea, she and her inhabitants, that caused their terror to be on all that dwelt there! |
| 18 | Maintenant les îles trembleront au jour de ta chute, et les îles qui sont dans la mer seront épouvantées de ta fin. | Now shall the isles tremble in the day of thy fall; yea, the isles that are in the sea shall be dismayed at thy departure. |
| 19 | Car ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Quand j'aurai fait de toi une ville déserte, comme les villes qui n'ont point d'habitants; quand j'aurai fait monter sur toi l'abîme, et que les grandes eaux t'auront couverte, | For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: When I shall make thee a desolate city, like the cities that are not inhabited; when I shall bring up the deep upon thee, and the great waters shall cover thee; |
| 20 | je te ferai descendre avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, vers les peuples d'autrefois; je te ferai habiter dans les profondeurs de la terre, dans les solitudes éternelles, avec ceux qui sont descendus dans la fosse, pour que tu ne sois plus habitée; et je mettrai un ornement sur la terre des vivants. | then will I bring thee down with them that descend into the pit, to the people of old time, and will make thee to dwell in the nether parts of the earth, in the places that are desolate of old, with them that go down to the pit, that thou be not inhabited; and I will set glory in the land of the living: |
| 21 | Je ferai de toi un objet d'épouvante, et tu ne seras plus; on te cherchera, et on ne te trouvera plus jamais, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. | I will make thee a terror, and thou shalt no more have any being; though thou be sought for, yet shalt thou never be found again, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
