| 2 | Et toi, fils d'homme, ne jugeras-tu pas, ne jugeras-tu pas la ville sanguinaire, et ne lui donneras-tu pas à connaître toutes ses abominations? | And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations. |
| 3 | Tu diras donc, ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: ville qui répands le sang au dedans de toi, afin que ton temps vienne, et qui as fait des idoles à ton préjudice, pour en être souillée. | And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that maketh idols against herself to defile her! |
| 4 | Tu t'es rendue coupable par ton sang que tu as répandu, et tu t'es souillée par tes idoles que tu as faites; tu as fait approcher tes jours, et tu es venue jusqu'à tes ans; c'est pourquoi je t'ai exposée en opprobre aux nations, et en dérision à tous les pays. | Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and art defiled in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. |
| 5 | Celles qui sont près de toi, et celles qui en sont loin, se moqueront de toi, infâme de réputation, et remplie de troubles. | Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, thou infamous one [and] full of tumult. |
| 6 | Voici, les Princes d'Israël ont contribué au dedans de toi, chacun selon sa force, à répandre le sang. | Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his power, have been in thee to shed blood. |
| 7 | On a méprisé père et mère au dedans de toi; on a usé de tromperie à l'égard de l'étranger au dedans de toi; on a opprimé l'orphelin et la veuve au dedans de toi. | In thee have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the sojourner; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow. |
| 8 | Tu as méprisé mes choses saintes, et profané mes Sabbats. | Thou hast despised my holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths. |
| 9 | Des gens médisants ont été au dedans de toi pour répandre le sang, et ceux qui sont au dedans de toi ont mangé sur les montagnes; on a commis des actions énormes au milieu de toi. | Slanderous men have been in thee to shed blood; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness. |
| 10 | L'enfant a découvert la nudité du père au dedans de toi, et on a humilié au dedans de toi la femme dans le temps de sa souillure. | In thee have they uncovered their fathers` nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her impurity. |
| 11 | Et l'un a commis abomination avec la femme de son prochain; et l'autre en commettant des actions énormes a souillé sa belle-fille; et l'autre a humilié sa soeur, fille de son père, au dedans de toi. | And one hath committed abomination with his neighbor`s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father`s daughter. |
| 12 | On a reçu au dedans de toi des présents pour répandre le sang; tu as pris de l'usure et du surcroît; et tu as fait un gain déshonnête sur tes prochains, en usant de tromperie; et tu m'as oublié, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel. | In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbors by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 13 | Et voici, j'ai frappé de mes mains l'une contre l'autre à cause de ton gain déshonnête que tu as fait, et à cause de ton sang qui a été répandu au dedans de toi. | Behold, therefore, I have smitten my hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee. |
| 14 | Ton coeur pourra-t-il tenir ferme? ou tes mains seront-elles fortes aux jours que j'agirai contre toi? moi l'Eternel j'ai parlé, et je le ferai. | Can thy heart endure, or can thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and will do it. |
| 15 | Et je te disperserai parmi les nations, je te vannerai par les pays, et je consumerai ta souillure, jusqu'à ce qu'il n'y en ait plus en toi. | And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee. |
| 16 | Et tu seras partagée en toi-même en la présence des nations, et tu sauras que je suis l'Eternel. | And thou shalt be profaned in thyself, in the sight of the nations; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. |
| 17 | Puis la parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en disant: | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 18 | Fils d'homme: la maison d'Israël m'est devenue comme de l'écume; eux tous sont de l'airain, de l'étain, du fer et du plomb dans un creuset; ils sont devenus comme une écume d'argent. | Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver. |
| 19 | C'est pourquoi ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel: parce que vous êtes tous devenus comme de l'écume, voici, je vais à cause de cela vous assembler au milieu de Jérusalem, | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. |
| 20 | Comme qui assemblerait de l'argent, de l'airain, du fer, du plomb, et de l'étain dans un creuset, afin d'y souffler le feu pour les fondre; je vous assemblerai ainsi en ma colère, et en ma fureur, je me satisferai, et je vous fondrai. | As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you. |
| 21 | Je vous assemblerai donc, je soufflerai contre vous le feu de ma fureur, et vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem. | Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. |
| 22 | Comme l'argent se fond dans le creuset, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu d'elle, et vous saurez que moi l'Eternel j'ai répandu ma fureur sur vous. | As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath upon you. |
| 23 | La parole de l'Eternel me fut encore adressée, en disant: | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 24 | Fils d'homme, dis-lui: tu es une terre qui n'a pas été nettoyée ni mouillée de pluie au jour de l'indignation. | Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. |
| 25 | Il y a un complot de ses Prophètes au milieu d'elle; ils seront comme des lions rugissants, qui ravissent la proie: ils ont dévoré les âmes; ils ont emporté les richesses, et la gloire; ils ont multiplié les veuves au milieu d'elle. | There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in the midst thereof. |
| 26 | Ses Sacrificateurs ont fait violence à ma Loi; et ont profané mes choses saintes; ils n'ont point mis différence entre la chose sainte et la profane, ils n'ont point donné à connaître la différence qu'il y a entre la chose immonde et la nette, et ils ont caché leurs yeux de mes Sabbats, et j'ai été profané au milieu d'eux. | Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. |
| 27 | Ses principaux ont été au milieu d'elle comme des loups qui ravissent la proie, pour répandre le sang et pour détruire les âmes, pour s'adonner au gain déshonnête. | Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, [and] to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. |
| 28 | Ses Prophètes aussi les ont enduits de mortier mal lié; ils ont des visions fausses, et ils leur devinent le mensonge, en disant: ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel; et cependant l'Eternel n'avait point parlé. | And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered [mortar], seeing false visions, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, when Jehovah hath not spoken. |
| 29 | Le peuple du pays a usé de tromperies, et ils ont ravi le bien d'autrui, et ont opprimé l'affligé et le pauvre, et ont foulé l'étranger contre tout droit. | The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojourner wrongfully. |
| 30 | Et j'ai cherché quelqu'un d'entre eux qui refît la cloison, et qui se tînt à la brèche devant moi pour le pays, afin que je ne le détruisisse point; mais je n'en ai point trouvé. | And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none. |
| 31 | C'est pourquoi je répandrai sur eux mon indignation, et je les consumerai par le feu de ma fureur; je ferai tomber la peine de leur train sur leur tête, dit le Seigneur l'Eternel. | Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
