| 2 | "Et toi, fils de l'homme, jugeras-tu, jugeras-tu la ville de sang ? Fais-lui connaître toutes ses abominations, | And thou, son of man, wilt thou judge, wilt thou judge the bloody city? then cause her to know all her abominations. |
| 3 | et dis : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Ville qui répand le sang au dedans d'elle, pour que son temps vienne, et qui se couvre d'idoles infâmes pour se souiller! | And thou shalt say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: A city that sheddeth blood in the midst of her, that her time may come, and that maketh idols against herself to defile her! |
| 4 | Par le sang que tu as répandu, tu t'es rendue criminelle; par les idoles infâmes que tu as faites, tu t'es souillée; et tu as ainsi avancé tes jours, et tu es parvenue au terme de tes années. C'est pourquoi je t'ai rendue un objet d'opprobre pour les nations et une risée dans tous les pays. | Thou art become guilty in thy blood that thou hast shed, and art defiled in thine idols which thou hast made; and thou hast caused thy days to draw near, and art come even unto thy years: therefore have I made thee a reproach unto the nations, and a mocking to all the countries. |
| 5 | Ceux qui sont près et ceux qui sont loin de toi se moqueront de toi, souillée de réputation, grande en désordre! | Those that are near, and those that are far from thee, shall mock thee, thou infamous one [and] full of tumult. |
| 6 | Voici que les princes d'Israël, chacun selon ses forces, sont occupés chez toi à répandre le sang. | Behold, the princes of Israel, every one according to his power, have been in thee to shed blood. |
| 7 | Chez toi, on méprise père et mère; au milieu de toi, on maltraite l'étranger; chez toi, on opprime l'orphelin et la veuve. | In thee have they set light by father and mother; in the midst of thee have they dealt by oppression with the sojourner; in thee have they wronged the fatherless and the widow. |
| 8 | Tu méprises mon sanctuaire et tu profanes mes sabbats. | Thou hast despised my holy things, and hast profaned my sabbaths. |
| 9 | Il y a chez toi des gens qui calomnient pour répandre le sang; chez toi, on mange sur les montagnes; on commet des énormités au milieu de toi. | Slanderous men have been in thee to shed blood; and in thee they have eaten upon the mountains: in the midst of thee they have committed lewdness. |
| 10 | Chez toi, on découvre la nudité de son père; chez toi, on fait violence à la femme pendant sa souillure. | In thee have they uncovered their fathers` nakedness; in thee have they humbled her that was unclean in her impurity. |
| 11 | L'un commet l'abomination avec la femme de son prochain, un autre souille par l'impureté sa belle-fille chez toi, un autre fait violence à sa soeur, fille de son père. | And one hath committed abomination with his neighbor`s wife; and another hath lewdly defiled his daughter-in-law; and another in thee hath humbled his sister, his father`s daughter. |
| 12 | Chez toi, ou reçoit des présents pour répandre le sang; tu prends l'usure et un intérêt; tu dépouilles par la violence ton prochain; et moi, tu m'oublies, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. | In thee have they taken bribes to shed blood; thou hast taken interest and increase, and thou hast greedily gained of thy neighbors by oppression, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 13 | Mais voici que je frappe dans ma main à cause du gain déshonnête que tu as fait, et à cause du sang qui est au milieu de toi. | Behold, therefore, I have smitten my hand at thy dishonest gain which thou hast made, and at thy blood which hath been in the midst of thee. |
| 14 | Ton coeur tiendra-t-il bon, tes mains seront-elles tenues aux jours où j'agirai contre toi ? Moi, Yahweh, j'ai dit et j'agirai. | Can thy heart endure, or can thy hands be strong, in the days that I shall deal with thee? I, Jehovah, have spoken it, and will do it. |
| 15 | Je te disperserai parmi les nations, je te sèmerai dans les pays, et j'ôterai de toi toute ta souillure, | And I will scatter thee among the nations, and disperse thee through the countries; and I will consume thy filthiness out of thee. |
| 16 | et tu seras profanée chez toi aux yeux des nations; et tu sauras que je suis Yahweh." | And thou shalt be profaned in thyself, in the sight of the nations; and thou shalt know that I am Jehovah. |
| 17 | La parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes : | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 18 | "Fils de l'homme, la maison d'Israël s'est changée pour moi en scories; eux tous sont de l'airain, de l'étain, du fer et du plomb au milieu du fourneau; ils sont devenus les scories de l'argent. | Son of man, the house of Israel is become dross unto me: all of them are brass and tin and iron and lead, in the midst of the furnace; they are the dross of silver. |
| 19 | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Parce que vous êtes tous devenus des scories, à cause de cela, voici que je vais vous rassembler au milieu de Jérusalem. | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because ye are all become dross, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem. |
| 20 | Comme ou met ensemble l'argent, l'airain, le fer, le plomb et l'étain au milieu d'un fourneau et qu'on souffle le feu sur le fourneau pour les fondre, ainsi je vous rassemblerai dans ma colère et mon courroux; je vous mettrai là et je vous fondrai. | As they gather silver and brass and iron and lead and tin into the midst of the furnace, to blow the fire upon it, to melt it; so will I gather you in mine anger and in my wrath, and I will lay you there, and melt you. |
| 21 | Je vous rassemblerai et je soufflerai sur vous, avec le feu de ma fureur, et vous serez fondus au milieu de Jérusalem. | Yea, I will gather you, and blow upon you with the fire of my wrath, and ye shall be melted in the midst thereof. |
| 22 | Comme on fond l'argent au milieu d'un fourneau, ainsi vous serez fondus au milieu d'elle; et vous saurez que moi, Yahweh, j'ai répandu mon courroux sur vous." | As silver is melted in the midst of the furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof; and ye shall know that I, Jehovah, have poured out my wrath upon you. |

| 24 | "Fils de l'homme, dis-lui : Tu es une terre qui n'a pas été purifiée, qui n'a pas été lavée par la pluie, en un jour de colère. | Son of man, say unto her, Thou art a land that is not cleansed, nor rained upon in the day of indignation. |
| 25 | Il y a au milieu d'elle une conspiration de ses prophètes. Comme un lion rugissant qui déchire sa proie, ils dévorent les âmes, ils s'emparent des biens et des trésors, ils multiplient ses veuves au milieu d'elle. | There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey: they have devoured souls; they take treasure and precious things; they have made her widows many in the midst thereof. |
| 26 | Ses prêtres ont violé ma loi et profané mon sanctuaire; ils ne distinguent pas entre le saint et le profane; ils n'enseignent pas la différence entre celui qui est souillé et celui qui est pur; ils ferment leurs yeux sur mes sabbats, et je suis profané au milieu d'eux. | Her priests have done violence to my law, and have profaned my holy things: they have made no distinction between the holy and the common, neither have they caused men to discern between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them. |
| 27 | Ses chefs sont au milieu d'elle comme des loups qui déchirent leur proie, répandant le sang, perdant des âmes pour faire des gains. | Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, [and] to destroy souls, that they may get dishonest gain. |
| 28 | Et ses prophètes leur plâtrent tous ces crimes; ils ont des visions vaines et des oracles menteurs; ils disent : "Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh"et Yahweh n'a point parlé. | And her prophets have daubed for them with untempered [mortar], seeing false visions, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah, when Jehovah hath not spoken. |
| 29 | Le peuple du pays commet des violences et s'adonne à la rapine; ils foulent le malheureux et l'indigent, et font violence à l'étranger sans motif. | The people of the land have used oppression, and exercised robbery; yea, they have vexed the poor and needy, and have oppressed the sojourner wrongfully. |
| 30 | J'ai cherché parmi eux un homme qui fit une clôture et qui se tint à la brèche devant moi pour le pays, afin que le ne détruise pas; et je ne l'ai pas trouvé. | And I sought for a man among them, that should build up the wall, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found none. |
| 31 | Et j'ai répandu sur eux mon courroux, et je les ai consumés par le feu de ma fureur, et j'ai fait retomber leurs oeuvres sur leur tête, --oracle du Seigneur Yahweh." | Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have consumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I brought upon their heads, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
