| 1 | And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee. | Et il me fut dit: Fils d'homme, tiens-toi sur tes pieds, et je parlerai avec toi. |
| 2 | And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me. | Alors l'Esprit entra dans moi, après qu'on m'eut parlé, et il me releva sur mes pieds, et j'ouïs celui qui me parlait, |
| 3 | And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me, even unto this very day. | Qui me dit: fils d'homme; je t'envoie vers les enfants d'Israël, vers des nations rebelles qui se sont rebellées contre moi; eux et leurs pères ont péché contre moi jusques à ce propre jour. |
| 4 | For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. | Et ce sont des enfants effrontés, et d'un coeur obstiné, vers lesquels je t'envoie; c'est pourquoi tu leur diras que le Seigneur l'Eternel a ainsi parlé. |
| 5 | And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. | Et soit qu'ils écoutent, ou qu'ils n'en fassent rien; car ils sont une maison rebelle, ils sauront pourtant qu'il y aura eu un Prophète parmi eux. |
| 6 | And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. | Mais toi, fils d'homme, ne les crains point, et ne crains point leurs paroles; quoique des gens revêches et dont les langues sont perçantes comme des épines soient avec toi, et que tu demeures parmi des scorpions; ne crains point leurs paroles, et ne t'effraie point à cause d'eux, quoiqu'ils soient une maison rebelle. |
| 7 | And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. | Tu leur prononceras donc mes paroles, soit qu'ils écoutent, ou qu'ils n'en fassent rien; car ils ne sont que rébellion. |
| 8 | But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee. | Mais toi, fils d'homme, écoute ce que je te dis, et ne sois point rebelle, comme cette maison rebelle; ouvre ta bouche, et mange ce que je te vais donner. |
| 9 | And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein; | Alors je regardai, et voici, une main fut envoyée vers moi, et voici, elle avait un rouleau de livre. |
| 10 | And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe. | Et elle l'ouvrit devant moi, et voici, il était écrit dedans et dehors, et des lamentations, des regrets, et des malédictions y étaient écrites. |
