| 1 | L'Esprit m'enleva et m'amena à la porte orientale de la maison de Yahweh, celle qui regarde l'orient. Et voici qu'à l'entrée de la porte, il y avait vingt-cinq hommes, et je vis au milieu d'eux Jézonias, fils d'Azzur, et Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, chefs du peuple. | Moreover the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me unto the east gate of Jehovah`s house, which looketh eastward: and behold, at the door of the gate five and twenty men; and I saw in the midst of them Jaazaniah the son of Azzur, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people. |
| 2 | Et Yahweh me dit : "Fils de l'homme, ce sont là les hommes qui méditent l'iniquité, et qui dorment de mauvais conseils dans cette ville; | And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and that give wicked counsel in this city; |
| 3 | qui disent : Le malheur n'est pas si proche! Bâtissons des maisons! Cette ville est la chaudière, et nous sommes la viande. | that say, [The time] is not near to build houses: this [city] is the caldron, and we are the flesh. |
| 4 | C'est pourquoi prophétise contre eux, prophétise, fils de l'homme." | Therefore prophesy against them, prophesy, O son of man. |
| 5 | Et l'Esprit de Yahweh tomba sur moi, et il me dit : "Dis : Ainsi parle Yahweh : C'est ainsi que vous parlez, maison d'Israël! Ce qui monte à votre esprit, moi je le connais. | And the Spirit of Jehovah fell upon me, and he said unto me, Speak, Thus saith Jehovah: Thus have ye said, O house of Israel; for I know the things that come into your mind. |
| 6 | Vous avez multiplié vos meurtres dans cette ville et rempli ses rues de cadavres. | Ye have multiplied your slain in this city, and ye have filled the streets thereof with the slain. |
| 7 | C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Vos morts, que vous avez étendus au milieu de la ville, c'est la chair, et la ville est la chaudière; mais on vous fera sortir du milieu d'elle. | Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Your slain whom ye have laid in the midst of it, they are the flesh, and this [city] is the caldron; but ye shall be brought forth out of the midst of it. |
| 8 | Vous craignez l'épée, et je ferai venir sur vous l'épée, ---oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. | Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring the sword upon you, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 9 | Je vous ferai sortir du milieu de la ville, je vous livrerai à la main des étrangers et j'exercerai sur vous mes jugements. | And I will bring you forth out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you. |
| 10 | Vous tomberez par l'épée; je vous jugerai à la frontière d'Israël, et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh. | Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am Jehovah. |
| 11 | Cette ville ne sera pas pour vous la chaudière, et vous ne serez pas la viande au milieu d'elle; c'est à la frontière d'Israël que je vous jugerai. | This [city] shall not be your caldron, neither shall ye be the flesh in the midst thereof; I will judge you in the border of Israel; |
| 12 | Et vous saurez que je suis Yahweh dont vous n'avez pas suivi les ordonnances, ni pratiqué les lois; mais vous avez agi selon les lois des nations qui vous entourent. | and ye shall know that I am Jehovah: for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the nations that are round about you. |
| 13 | Comme je prophétisais, Pheltias, fils de Banaïas, mourut; et je tombai sur ma face, et je criai à haute voix, et je dis "Ah! Seigneur, Yahweh, vas-tu anéantir ce qui reste d'Israël ?" | And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel? |
| 14 | Et la parole de Yahweh me fut adressée en ces termes : | And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying, |
| 15 | "Fils de l'homme, tes frères, tes frères, hommes de la parenté, et toute la maison d'Israël, ce sont tous ceux à qui les habitants de Jérusalem disent : Restez loin de Yahweh, c'est à nous que le pays a été donné en possession. | Son of man, thy brethren, even thy brethren, the men of thy kindred, and all the house of Israel, all of them, [are they] unto whom the inhabitants of Jerusalem have said, Get you far from Jehovah; unto us is this land given for a possession. |
| 16 | C'est pourquoi dis-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : Oui, je les ai éloignés parmi les nations, je les ai dispersés dans les pays; mais je serai pour eux un sanctuaire pendant un peu de temps, dans les pays où ils sont allés. | Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Whereas I have removed them far off among the nations, and whereas I have scattered them among the countries, yet will I be to them a sanctuary for a little while in the countries where they are come. |
| 17 | C'est pourquoi dis-leur : Ainsi parle le Seigneur Yahweh : je vous rassemblerai du milieu des peuples, je vous recueillerai des pays où vous avez été dispersés, et je vous donnerai la terre d'Israël. | Therefore say, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where ye have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel. |
| 18 | Ils y entreront et en ôteront toutes ses infamies et toutes ses abominations. | And they shall come thither, and they shall take away all the detestable things thereof and all the abominations thereof from thence. |
| 19 | Et je leur donnerai un seul coeur; je mettrai au-dedans d'eux un esprit nouveau; et j'ôterai de leur chair le coeur de pierre, et je leur donnerai un coeur de chair, | And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh; |
| 20 | afin qu'ils suivent mes ordonnances, et qu'ils gardent mes lois et les pratiquent; et ils seront mon peuple, et moi je serai leur Dieu. | that they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God. |
| 21 | Quant à ceux dont le coeur suit le coeur de leurs idoles abominables, je ferai retomber leurs oeuvres sur leurs têtes, ---oracle du Seigneur Yahweh. | But as for them whose heart walketh after the heart of their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their way upon their own heads, saith the Lord Jehovah. |
| 22 | Alors les Chérubins dressèrent leurs ailes, et les roues se mirent en mouvement avec eux, et la gloire du Dieu d'Israël reposait au-dessus d'eux. | Then did the cherubim lift up their wings, and the wheels were beside them; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above. |
| 23 | Et la gloire de Yahweh, s'élevant de dessus le milieu de la ville, s'arrêta sur la montagne qui est à l'orient de la ville. | And the glory of Jehovah went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city. |
| 24 | Et l'Esprit m'enleva et m'emmena en Chaldée auprès des captifs, en vision, dans l'esprit de Dieu; et la vision que j'avais eue disparut de devant moi. | And the Spirit lifted me up, and brought me in the vision by the Spirit of God into Chaldea, to them of the captivity. So the vision that I had seen went up from me. |
| 25 | Et je racontai aux captifs toutes les choses que Yahweh m'avait fait voir. | Then I spake unto them of the captivity all the things that Jehovah had showed me. |
