| 1 | Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth [month], in the fifth [day] of the month, as I was among the captives by the river Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God. | Nel trentesimo anno, il cinque del quarto mese, avvenne che, mentre mi trovavo tra i deportati presso il fiume Kebar, i cieli si aprirono ed ebbi visioni da parte di DIO. |

| 3 | the word of Jehovah came expressly unto Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by the river Chebar; and the hand of Jehovah was there upon him. | la parola dell'Eterno fu espressamente rivolta al sacerdote Ezechiele, figlio di Buzi, nel paese dei Caldei, presso il fiume Kebar; e là fu sopra di lui la mano dell'Eterno. |
| 4 | And I looked, and, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, with a fire infolding itself, and a brightness round about it, and out of the midst thereof as it were glowing metal, out of the midst of the fire. | Mentre guardavo, ecco venire dal nord un vento di tempesta, una grossa nuvola con un fuoco che si avvolgeva su se stesso; intorno ad esso e dal mezzo di esso emanava un grande splendore come il colore di bronzo incandescente in mezzo al fuoco. |
| 5 | And out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. | Dal suo mezzo appariva la sembianza di quattro esseri viventi; e questo era il loro aspetto: avevano la sembianza d'uomo. |
| 6 | And every one had four faces, and every one of them had four wings. | Ognuno di essi aveva quattro facce e ognuno quattro ali. |
| 7 | And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf`s foot; and they sparkled like burnished brass. | Le loro gambe erano diritte e la pianta dei loro piedi era come la pianta del piede di un vitello, e sfavillavano come il bronzo lucidato. |
| 8 | And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings [thus]: | Sui loro quattro lati, sotto le ali, avevano mani d'uomo; e tutti e quattro avevano le proprie facce e le proprie ali. |
| 9 | their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. | Le loro ali si toccavano l'una con l'altra; avanzando, non si voltavano, ma ciascuno andava diritto davanti a sé. |
| 10 | As for the likeness of their faces, they had the face of a man; and they four had the face of a lion on the right side; and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four had also the face of an eagle. | Quanto all'aspetto delle loro facce, avevano tutti la faccia di uomo, tutti e quattro la faccia di leone destra, tutti e quattro la faccia di bue a sinistra, e tutti e quattro la faccia di aquila. |
| 11 | And their faces and their wings were separate above; two [wings] of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. | Tali erano le loro facce. Le loro ali erano distese verso l'alto, ciascuno aveva due ali che si toccavano e due che coprivano il loro corpo. |
| 12 | And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; they turned not when they went. | Ciascuno andava diritto davanti a sé andavano ovunque lo spirito voleva andare e, andando, non si voltavano. |
| 13 | As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches: [the fire] went up and down among the living creatures; and the fire was bright, and out of the fire went forth lightning. | Quanto all'aspetto degli esseri viventi, essi sembravano come carboni ardenti, come fiaccole. Il fuoco si muoveva in mezzo agli esseri viventi; il fuoco era risplendente e dal fuoco si sprigionavano lampi. |
| 14 | And the living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning. | Gli esseri viventi correvano avanti e indietro, sembravano come un fulmine. |
| 15 | Now as I beheld the living creatures, behold, one wheel upon the earth beside the living creatures, for each of the four faces thereof. | Come guardavo gli esseri viventi, ecco una ruota in terra accanto agli esseri viventi con le loro quattro facce. |
| 16 | The appearance of the wheels and their work was like unto a beryl: and they four had one likeness; and their appearance and their work was as it were a wheel within a wheel. | L'aspetto delle ruote e la loro fattura era come l'aspetto di colore del crisolito tutte e quattro si somigliavano. Il loro aspetto e la loro fattura era come quella di una ruota in mezzo a un'altra ruota. |
| 17 | When they went, they went in their four directions: they turned not when they went. | Quando si muovevano, andavano verso una delle loro quattro direzioni e, andando, non si voltavano. |
| 18 | As for their rims, they were high and dreadful; and they four had their rims full of eyes round about. | Quanto ai loro cerchi, erano alti e imponenti; e i cerchi di tutti e quattro erano pieni di occhi tutt'intorno. |
| 19 | And when the living creatures went, the wheels went beside them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up. | Quando gli esseri viventi si muovevano, anche le ruote si muovevano accanto a loro e quando gli esseri viventi si alzavano da terra, si alzavano anche le ruote. |
| 20 | Whithersoever the spirit was to go, they went; thither was the spirit to go: and the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. | Dovunque lo spirito voleva andare, andavano anch'essi, perché là andava lo spirito; le ruote si alzavano con essi perché lo spirito degli esseri viventi era nelle ruote. |
| 21 | When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them: for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels. | Quando essi si muovevano, anche le ruote si muovevano; quando essi si fermavano, anch'esse Si fermavano, e quando essi si alzavano da terra, anche le ruote si alzavano con essi, perché lo spirito degli esseri viventi era nelle ruote. |
| 22 | And over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of a firmament, like the terrible crystal to look upon, stretched forth over their heads above. | Sopra le teste degli esseri viventi c'era la sembianza di un firmamento, simile al colore di un maestoso cristallo, disteso sopra le loro teste. |
| 23 | And under the firmament were their wings straight, the one toward the other: every one had two which covered on this side, and every one had two which covered on that side, their bodies. | Sotto il firmamento si stendevano diritte le loro ali, l'una verso l'altra, ciascuno ne aveva due che coprivano un lato e due che coprivano l'altro lato del corpo. |
| 24 | And when they went, I heard the noise of their wings like the noise of great waters, like the voice of the Almighty, a noise of tumult like the noise of a host: when they stood, they let down their wings. | Quando essi si muovevano, io sentivo il fragore delle loro ali, come il fragore delle grandi acque, come la voce dell'Onnipotente, il rumore di un gran tumulto, come lo strepito di un esercito; quando si fermavano, abbassavano le loro ali. |
| 25 | And there was a voice above the firmament that was over their heads: when they stood, they let down their wings. | E si udiva un rumore dal di sopra del firmamento che era sopra le loro teste quando si fermavano, abbassavano le loro ali. |
| 26 | And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone; and upon the likeness of the throne was a likeness as the appearance of a man upon it above. | Al di sopra del firmamento che stava sopra le loro teste, c'era la sembianza di un trono che sembrava come una pietra di zaffiro, e su questa specie di trono, in alto su di esso, stava una figura dalle sembianze di uomo. |
| 27 | And I saw as it were glowing metal, as the appearance of fire within it round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward; and from the appearance of his loins and downward I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness round about him. | Da ciò che sembravano i suoi lombi, in su vidi pure come il colore di bronzo incandescente che sembrava come fuoco tutt'intorno dentro di esso; e da ciò che sembravano i suoi lombi in giù vidi qualcosa somigliante al fuoco e che emanava tutt'intorno un grande splendore. |
| 28 | As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of Jehovah. And when I saw it, I fell upon my face, and I heard a voice of one that spake. | Come l'aspetto dell'arcobaleno nella nuvola in un giorno di pioggia, così era l'aspetto di quello splendore che lo circondava. Questa era un'apparizione dell'immagine della gloria dell'Eterno. Quando la vidi, caddi sulla mia faccia e udii la voce di uno che parlava. |
