| 11 | And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? | Yahweh lui dit : "Qui a donné la bouche à l'homme, et qui rend muet ou sourd, voyant ou aveugle ? N'est-ce pas moi, Yahweh ? |
| 12 | Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say. | Va donc, je serai avec ta bouche et je t'enseignerai ce que tu devras dire." |
| 13 | And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send. | Moïse dit : "Ah! Seigneur, envoyez votre message par qui vous voudrez l'envoyer." |
| 14 | And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart. | Alors la colère de Yahweh s'enflamma contre Moïse, et il dit : "N'y a-t-il pas Aaron, ton frère, le Lévite ? Je sais qu'il parlera facilement, lui. Et même, voici qu'il vient à ta rencontre et, en te voyant, il se réjouira dans son coeur. |
| 15 | And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do. | Tu lui parleras et tu mettras les paroles dans sa bouche, et moi je serai avec ta bouche et avec sa bouche, et je vous enseignerai ce que vous aurez à faire. |
| 16 | And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God. | C'est lui qui parlera pour toi au peuple; il te servira de bouche, et tu lui seras un Dieu. |
| 17 | And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs. | Quant à ce bâton, prends-le dans ta main; c'est avec quoi tu feras les signes." |
| 18 | And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace. | Moïse s'en alla. Et moi, j'endurcirai son coeur, et il ne laissera pas aller le peuple. |
| 22 | And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: | Tu diras à : Pharaon : Ainsi parle Yahweh : "Israël est mon fils, mon premier-né. |
| 23 | And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn. | Je te dis : Laisse aller mon fils, pour qu'il me serve; tu refuses de le laisser aller, je ferai périr ton fils, ton premier-né." |
| 24 | And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him. | Sur la route, dans un lieu où Moïse passa la nuit, Yahweh vint à sa rencontre et voulut le faire mourir. |
| 25 | Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me. | Séphora prit une pierre tranchante, coupa le prépuce de son fils, et en toucha les pieds de Moïse, en disant : "Tu es pour moi un époux de sang!" |
| 26 | So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision. | Et Yahweh le laissa. C'est alors qu'elle dit : "Epoux a du sang", à cause de la circoncision. |
| 27 | And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him. | Yahweh dit à Aaron : "Va au-devant de Moïse dans le désert."Aaron partit et, ayant rencontré Moïse à la montagne de Dieu, il le baisa. |
| 28 | And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him. | Moïse fit connaître à Aaron toutes les paroles avec lesquelles Yahweh l'avait envoyé, et tous les signes qu’il lui avait ordonné de faire. |
| 29 | And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel: | Moïse et Aaron poursuivirent leur chemin, et ils rassemblèrent tous les anciens des enfants d'Israël. |
| 30 | And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people. | Aaron rapporta toutes les paroles que Yahweh avait dites à Moïse, et il fit les signes sous les yeux du peuple. |
| 31 | And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped. | Et le peuple crut; ils apprirent que Yahweh avait visité les enfants d'Israël et qu'il avait vu leur souffrance; et, s'étant inclinés, ils adorèrent. |
