Now these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them. Now these are the ordinances which thou shalt set before them.
If thou buy an Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing. If thou buy a Hebrew servant, six years he shall serve: and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.
If he came in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he were married, then his wife shall go out with him.S'il est venu seul, il sortira seul; s'il avait une femme, sa femme sortira avec lui.If he come in by himself, he shall go out by himself: if he be married, then his wife shall go out with him.
If his master have given him a wife, and she have born him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself. If his master give him a wife and she bear him sons or daughters; the wife and her children shall be her master`s, and he shall go out by himself.
And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:Que si l'esclave dit: J'aime mon maître, ma femme et mes enfants; je ne veux pas sortir pour être libre;But if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free:Ma se lo schiavo apertamente dice: "Io amo il mio padrone, mia moglie e i miei figli, e non voglio andarmene libero",
Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.Alors son maître l'amènera devant Dieu et le fera approcher de la porte ou du poteau, et son maître lui percera l'oreille avec un poinçon, et il le servira toujours.then his master shall bring him unto God, and shall bring him to the door, or unto the door-post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an awl; and he shall serve him for ever.allora il suo padrone lo farà avvicinare a DIO e lo farà accostare alla porta o allo stipite; quindi il suo padrone gli forerà l'orecchio con un punteruolo; ed egli lo servirà per sempre.
And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do.Si quelqu'un vend sa fille pour être esclave, elle ne sortira point comme sortent les esclaves.And if a man sell his daughter to be a maid-servant, she shall not go out as the men-servants do.Se uno vende la propria figlia per essere serva, ella non se ne andrà come se ne vanno gli schiavi.
If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. If she please not her master, who hath espoused her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a foreign people he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her.
And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. And if he espouse her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters.E se la dà in sposa a suo figlio, la tratterà in base al diritto delle figlie.
If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.S'il en prend une autre, il ne retranchera rien pour la première à la nourriture, au vêtement, ni à la cohabitation.If he take him another [wife]; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.
And if he do not these three unto her, then shall she go out free without money. And if he do not these three things unto her, then shall she go out for nothing, without money.
He that smiteth a man, so that he die, shall be surely put to death. He that smiteth a man, so that he dieth, shall surely be put to death.
And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver him into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee. And if a man lie not in wait, but God deliver [him] into his hand; then I will appoint thee a place whither he shall flee.
But if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbour, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die. And if a man come presumptuously upon his neighbor, to slay him with guile; thou shalt take him from mine altar, that he may die.
And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death. And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.
And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death. And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.
And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. And he that curseth his father or his mother, shall surely be put to death.
And if men strive together, and one smite another with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keepeth his bed:Quand des hommes se querelleront, et que l'un frappera l'autre d'une pierre, ou du poing, de telle sorte qu'il n'en meure pas, mais qu'il soit obligé de se mettre au lit;And if men contend, and one smite the other with a stone, or with his fist, and he die not, but keep his bed;Se due uomini vengono a una lite e uno percuote l'altro con una pietra o col pugno e quello non muore ma deve mettersi a letto,
If he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.S'il se lève, et marche dehors, appuyé sur son bâton, celui qui l'aura frappé sera absous; seulement il paiera son chômage, et le fera guérir entièrement.if he rise again, and walk abroad upon his staff, then shall he that smote him be quit: only he shall pay for the loss of his time, and shall cause him to be thoroughly healed.se poi si rialza e cammina fuori appoggiato al suo bastone, chi lo ha colpito sarà assolto; lo indennizzerà soltanto del tempo perduto e lo farà curare fino a guarigione compiuta.
And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall be surely punished.Quand un homme frappera son serviteur, ou sa servante, avec le bâton, et qu'ils mourront sous sa main, il ne manquera pas d'être puni.And if a man smite his servant, or his maid, with a rod, and he die under his hand; he shall surely be punished.Se uno percuote il suo schiavo e la sua schiava col bastone, ed egli o essa gli muore fra le mani, il padrone sarà punito;
Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money. Notwithstanding, if he continue a day or two, he shall not be punished: for he is his money.ma se sopravvive un giorno o due, non sarà punito, perché è di sua proprietà.
If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.Si des hommes se battent, et frappent une femme enceinte, et qu'elle en accouche, sans qu'il arrive malheur, celui qui l'aura frappée sera condamné à l'amende que le mari de la femme lui imposera; et il la donnera devant des juges.And if men strive together, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart, and yet no harm follow; he shall be surely fined, according as the woman`s husband shall lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.Se alcuni vengono a lite e percuotono una donna incinta così da farla abortire, ma non ne segue altro danno, il percuotitore sarà multato in base a quanto il marito della donna gli imporrà; egli pagherà l'indennizzo come determinano i giudici;
And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,Mais s'il arrive malheur, tu donneras vie pour vie,But if any harm follow, then thou shalt give life for life,ma se ne segue danno, darai vita per vita,
Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,oeil pour oeil, dent pour dent, main pour main, pied pour pied,eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,occhio per occhio, dente per dente, mano per mano, piede per piede,
Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.Brûlure pour brûlure, plaie pour plaie, meurtrissure pour meurtrissure.burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.scottatura per scottatura, ferita per ferita, contusione per contusione.
And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, that it perish; he shall let him go free for his eye's sake. And if a man smite the eye of his servant, or the eye of his maid, and destroy it; he shall let him go free for his eye`s sake.
And if he smite out his manservant's tooth, or his maidservant's tooth; he shall let him go free for his tooth's sake. And if he smite out his man-servant`s tooth, or his maid-servant`s tooth, he shall let him go free for his tooth`s sake.E se fa cadere un dente al suo schiavo o un dente alla sua schiava, li lascerà andare liberi in compenso del dente perduto.
If an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die: then the ox shall be surely stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit. And if an ox gore a man or a woman to death, the ox shall be surely stoned, and its flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be quit.
But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past, and it hath been testified to his owner, and he hath not kept him in, but that he hath killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. But if the ox was wont to gore in time past, and it hath been testified to its owner, and he hath not kept it in, but it hath killed a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death.
If there be laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatsoever is laid upon him. If there be laid on him a ransom, then he shall give for the redemption of his life whatsoever is laid upon him.
Whether he have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. Whether it have gored a son, or have gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.
If the ox shall push a manservant or a maidservant; he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. If the ox gore a man-servant or a maid-servant, there shall be given unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.
And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein;Si quelqu'un ouvre une fosse ou si quelqu'un creuse une fosse, et ne la couvre point, et qu'il y tombe un boeuf ou un âne,And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein,Se uno apre una fossa, o se uno scava una fossa e non la copre e un bue o un asino vi cade dentro,
The owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.Le maître de la fosse fera restitution; il rendra de l'argent à leur maître; mais ce qui est mort sera à lui.the owner of the pit shall make it good; he shall give money unto the owner thereof, and the dead [beast] shall be his.il proprietario della fossa pagherà l'indennizzo; egli darà in denaro al padrone il valore della bestia e la bestia morta sarà sua.
And if one man's ox hurt another's, that he die; then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the money of it; and the dead ox also they shall divide. And if one man`s ox hurt another`s, so that it dieth, then they shall sell the live ox, and divide the price of it: and the dead also they shall divide.
Or if it be known that the ox hath used to push in time past, and his owner hath not kept him in; he shall surely pay ox for ox; and the dead shall be his own.S'il est notoire qu'auparavant le boeuf avait accoutumé de heurter de sa corne, et que son maître ne l'ait point gardé, il devra rendre boeuf pour boeuf; mais le boeuf mort sera à lui.Or if it be known that the ox was wont to gore in time past, and its owner hath not kept it in, he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead [beast] shall be his own.
