| 1 | Et toute l'assemblée des fils d'Israël partit du désert de Sin, selon leurs traites, d'après le commandement de l'Éternel, et ils campèrent à Rephidim; et il n'y avait point d'eau à boire pour le peuple. | And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. | Poi tutta l'assemblea dei figli d'Israele partì dal deserto di Sin, marciando a tappe secondo gli ordini dell'Eterno, e si accampò a Redifim. Ma non c'era acqua da bere per il popolo. |
| 2 | Et le peuple contesta avec Moïse, et ils dirent: Donnez-nous de l'eau pour que nous buvions. Et Moïse leur dit: Pourquoi contestez-vous avec moi? Pourquoi tentez-vous l'Éternel? | Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD? | Allora il popolo contese con Mosè e disse: Dacci dell'acqua da bere. Mosè rispose loro: Perché contendete con me? Perché tentate l'Eterno?. |
| 3 | Et là, le peuple eut soif d'eau; et le peuple murmura contre Moïse, et dit: Pourquoi nous as-tu fait monter d'Égypte, pour nous faire mourir de soif, moi, et mes enfants, et mon bétail? | And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? | Là il popolo ebbe sete di acqua e mormorò contro Mosè, dicendo: Perché ci hai fatti salire dall'Egitto per farci morire di sete noi, i nostri figli e il nostro bestiame?. |
| 4 | Et Moïse cria à l'Éternel, disant: Que ferai-je à ce peuple? Encore un peu, et ils me lapideront. | And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. | Così Mosè gridò all'Eterno, dicendo: Che farò io per questo popolo? Ancora un po' ed essi mi lapideranno. |
| 5 | Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse: Passe devant le peuple, et prends avec toi des anciens d'Israël; et prends dans ta main ta verge avec laquelle tu as frappé le fleuve, et va. | And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. | L'Eterno disse a Mosè: Passa davanti al popolo e prendi con te degli anziani d'Israele; prendi anche nella tua mano il tuo bastone col quale percuotesti il fiume, e va'. |
| 6 | Voici, je me tiens là devant toi, sur le rocher, en Horeb; et tu frapperas le rocher, et il en sortira des eaux, et le peuple boira. Et Moïse fit ainsi devant les yeux des anciens d'Israël. | Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. | Ecco, io starò davanti a te, là sulla roccia in Horeb; tu percuoterai la roccia, ne scaturirà dell'acqua e il popolo berrà. Mosè fece così davanti agli occhi degli anziani d'Israele. |
| 7 | Et il appela le nom du lieu Massa et Meriba, à cause de la contestation des fils d'Israël, et parce qu'ils avaient tenté l'Éternel, en disant: l'Éternel est-il au milieu de nous, ou n'y est-il pas? | And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not? | Perciò chiamò quel luogo Massa e Meriba a motivo della contesa dei figli d'Israele, e perché avevano tentato l'Eterno, dicendo: E' l'Eterno in mezzo a noi, o no?. |
| 8 | Et Amalek vint, et combattit contre Israël, à Rephidim. | Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim. | Allora venne Amalek a combattere contro Israele a Refidim. |
| 9 | Et Moïse dit à Josué: Choisis-nous des hommes, et sors, combats contre Amalek; demain je me tiendrai sur le sommet de la colline, la verge de Dieu dans ma main. | And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand. | E Mosè disse a Giosuè: Scegli per noi degli uomini ed esci a combattere contro Amalek; domani io starò sulla vetta del colle col bastone di DIO in mano. |
| 10 | Et Josué fit comme Moïse lui avait dit, pour combattre contre Amalek; et Moïse, Aaron, et Hur montèrent au sommet de la colline. | So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. | Giosuè fece come Mosè gli aveva detto e combattè contro Amalek, mentre Mosè, Aaronne e Hur salirono sulla vetta del colle. |
| 11 | Et il arrivait, lorsque Moïse élevait sa main, qu'Israël avait le dessus; et quand il reposait sa main, Amalek avait le dessus. | And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. | Or avvenne che, quando Mosè alzava la sua mano, Israele vinceva; quando invece abbassava la sua mano, vinceva Amalek. |
| 12 | Mais les mains de Moïse étaient pesantes; et ils prirent une pierre, et la mirent sous lui, et il s'assit dessus; et Aaron et Hur soutenaient ses mains, l'un deçà, et l'autre delà; et ses mains furent fermes jusqu'au coucher du soleil. | But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. | Ma le mani di Mosè si erano fatte pesanti, così essi presero una pietra e gliela posero sotto, ed egli vi sedette sopra mentre Aaronne e Hur sostenevano le sue mani, l'uno da una parte, l'altro dall'altra così le sue mani rimasero ferme fino al tramonto del sole. |
| 13 | Et Josué abattit Amalek et son peuple au tranchant de l'épée. | And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword. | Perciò Giosué sconfisse Amalek e la sua gente, passandoli a fil di spada. |
| 14 | Et l'Éternel dit à Moïse: Ecris ceci pour mémorial dans le livre, et fais-le entendre à Josué, que j'effacerai entièrement la mémoire d'Amalek de dessous les cieux. | And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven. | Poi l'Eterno disse a Mosè: Scrivi questo fatto in un libro, perché se ne conservi il ricordo, e fa' sapere a Giosuè che io cancellerò interamente di sotto al cielo la memoria di Amalek. |
| 15 | Et Moïse bâtit un autel, et appela son nom: Jéhovah-Nissi; | And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi: | Mosè costruì quindi un altare, al quale pose nome: L'Eterno è la mia bandiera; e disse: |
| 16 | et il dit: Parce que Jah a juré, l'Éternel aura la guerre contre Amalek de génération en génération. | For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation. | La mano è stata alzata contro il trono dell'Eterno, e l'Eterno farà guerra ad Amalek di generazione in generazione. |
