| 2 | I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts; | J'ai tout le jour étendu mes mains au peuple rebelle, à ceux qui marchent dans le mauvais chemin, savoir après leurs pensées; |
| 3 | A people that provoketh me to anger continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon altars of brick; | Au peuple de ceux qui m'irritent continuellement en face, qui sacrifient dans les jardins, et qui font des parfums sur les autels de briques. |
| 4 | Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels; | Qui se tiennent dans les sépulcres, et passent la nuit dans les lieux désolés; qui mangent la chair de pourceau, et qui ont dans leurs vaisseaux le jus des choses abominables. |
| 5 | Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day. | Qui disent: retire toi, n'approche point de moi, car je suis plus saint que toi; ceux-là sont une fumée à mes narines, un feu ardent tout le jour. |
| 6 | Behold, it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense, even recompense into their bosom, | Voici, ceci est écrit devant moi, je ne m'en tairai point, mais je le rendrai, oui je le rendrai dans leur sein, |
| 7 | Your iniquities, and the iniquities of your fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I measure their former work into their bosom. | A savoir vos iniquités, et les iniquités de vos pères ensemble, a dit l'Eternel; lesquels ont fait des parfums sur les montagnes, et m'ont déshonoré sur les coteaux; c'est pourquoi je leur mesurerai aussi dans leur sein le salaire de ce qu'ils ont fait au commencement. |
| 8 | Thus saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it: so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. | Ainsi a dit l'Eternel: comme quand on trouve dans une grappe du vin à épreindre, et qu'on dit: ne la gâte pas, car il y a en elle de la bénédiction; j'en ferai de même à cause de mes serviteurs, afin que le tout ne soit point détruit. |

| 10 | And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have sought me. | Et Saron sera pour les cabanes du menu bétail, et la vallée de Hachor sera le gîte du gros bétail, pour mon peuple qui m'aura recherché. |
| 11 | But ye are they that forsake the LORD, that forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that number. | Mais vous, qui abandonnez l'Eternel, et qui oubliez la montagne de ma sainteté, qui dressez la table à l'armée des cieux, et qui fournissez l'aspersion à autant qu'on en peut compter; |
| 12 | Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes, and did choose that wherein I delighted not. | Je vous compterai aussi avec l'épée, et vous serez tous courbés, pour être égorgés; parce que j'ai appelé, et que vous n'avez point répondu; j'ai parlé, et vous n'avez point écouté; mais vous avez fait ce qui me déplaît, et vous avez choisi les choses auxquelles je ne prends point de plaisir. |
| 13 | Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink, but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye shall be ashamed: | C'est pourquoi, ainsi a dit le Seigneur l'Eternel; voici, mes serviteurs mangeront, et vous aurez faim; voici, mes serviteurs boiront, et vous aurez soif; voici mes serviteurs se réjouiront, et vous serez honteux. |
| 14 | Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart, but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. | Voici, mes serviteurs se réjouiront avec chant de triomphe pour la joie qu'ils auront au coeur, mais vous crierez pour la douleur que vous aurez au coeur, et vous hurlerez à cause de l'accablement de votre esprit. |
| 15 | And ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name: | Et vous laisserez votre nom à mes élus pour s'en servir dans les exécrations, et le Seigneur l'Eternel te fera mourir; mais il appellera ses serviteurs d'un autre nom. |
| 16 | That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid from mine eyes. | Celui qui se bénira en la terre, se bénira par le Dieu de Vérité; et celui qui jurera sur la terre, jurera par le Dieu de Vérité; car les angoisses du passé seront oubliées, et même elles seront cachées devant mes yeux. |
| 17 | For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. | Car voici, je m'en vais créer de nouveaux cieux, et une nouvelle terre; et on ne se souviendra plus des choses précédentes, et elles ne reviendront plus au coeur. |
| 18 | But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy. | Mais plutôt vous vous réjouirez, et vous vous égayerez à toujours en ce que je m'en vais créer; car voici, je m'en vais créer Jérusalem, pour n'être que joie, et son peuple, pour n'être qu'allégresse. |
| 19 | And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. | Je m'égayerai donc sur Jérusalem, et je me réjouirai sur mon peuple; et on n'y entendra plus de voix de pleurs, ni de voix de clameurs. |
| 20 | There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. | Il n'y aura plus désormais aucun enfant né depuis peu de jours, ni aucun vieillard qui n'accomplisse ses jours; car celui qui mourra âgé de cent ans sera encore jeune; mais le pécheur âgé de cent ans sera maudit. |
| 21 | And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them. | Même ils bâtiront des maisons, et y habiteront; ils planteront des vignes, et ils en mangeront le fruit. |
| 22 | They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. | Ils ne bâtiront pas des maisons afin qu'un autre y habite; ils ne planteront pas des vignes afin qu'un autre en mange le fruit; car les jours de mon peuple seront comme les jours des arbres; et mes élus perpétueront le travail de leurs mains. |
| 23 | They shall not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them. | Ils ne travailleront plus en vain, et n'engendreront plus des enfants pour être exposés à la frayeur; car ils seront la postérité des bénis de l'Eternel, et ceux qui sortiront d'eux seront avec eux. |
| 24 | And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. | Et il arrivera qu'avant qu'ils crient, je les exaucerai; et lorsque encore ils parleront, je les aurai déjà ouïs. |
| 25 | The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bullock: and dust shall be the serpent's meat. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD. | Le loup et l'agneau paîtront ensemble, et le lion mangera du fourrage comme le boeuf, et la poudre sera la nourriture du serpent; on ne nuira point, et on ne fera aucun dommage dans toute la montagne de ma sainteté; a dit l'Eternel. |
