| 1 | Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? | 3 | I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the peoples there was no man with me: yea, I trod them in mine anger, and trampled them in my wrath; and their lifeblood is sprinkled upon my garments, and I have stained all my raiment. | Il tino l'ho pigiato da solo e dei popoli nessuno è stato con me. Li ho pigiati nella mia ira e li ho calpestati nel mio furore. Il loro sangue è spruzzato sulle mie vesti e ho macchiato tutti i miei abiti. |

| 5 | And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my wrath, it upheld me. | Guardai, ma non c'era nessuno che mi aiutasse; rimasi stupito che nessuno mi sostenesse. | 7 | I will make mention of the lovingkindnesses of Jehovah, [and] the praises of Jehovah, according to all that Jehovah hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. | Io ricorderò le benignità dell'Eterno le lodi dell'Eterno per tutto ciò che l'Eterno ci ha largito e la grande bontà usata alla casa d'Israele, concessa loro secondo le sue compassioni e secondo la sua grande benevolenza. |
| 8 | For he said, Surely, they are my people, children that will not deal falsely: so he was their Saviour. | Egli infatti aveva detto: Essi sono veramente il mio popolo, figli che non agiranno falsamente. Così divenne il loro Salvatore. |
| 9 | In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. | In ogni loro afflizione egli fu afflitto, e l'Angelo della sua presenza li salvò; nel suo amore e nella sua compassione li redense, li sollevò e li portò tutti i giorni del passato. |
| 10 | But they rebelled, and grieved his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, [and] himself fought against them. | Ma essi si ribellarono, e contristarono il suo santo Spirito; perciò egli divenne loro nemico e combattè contro di loro. |
| 11 | Then he remembered the days of old, Moses [and] his people, [saying], Where is he that brought them up out of the sea with the shepherds of his flock? where is he that put his holy Spirit in the midst of them? | Allora il suo popolo si ricordò dei giorni antichi di Mosè Dov'è colui che li fece uscire dal mare col pastore del suo gregge? | 12 | that caused his glorious arm to go at the right hand of Moses? that divided the waters before them, to make himself an everlasting name? | che li guidava per mezzo della destra di Mosè con il suo braccio glorioso, che divise le acque davanti a loro per farsi un nome eterno |
| 13 | that led them through the depths, as a horse in the wilderness, so that they stumbled not? | che li condusse attraverso gli abissi, come un cavallo nel deserto, perché non inciampassero? |
| 14 | As the cattle that go down into the valley, the Spirit of Jehovah caused them to rest; so didst thou lead thy people, to make thyself a glorious name. | Come il bestiame scende nella valle, lo Spirito dell'Eterno li fece riposare. Così tu guidasti il tuo popolo, per farti un nome glorioso. |
| 15 | Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of thy holiness and of thy glory: where are thy zeal and thy mighty acts? the yearning of thy heart and thy compassions are restrained toward me. | Guarda dal cielo e vedi dalla tua dimora santa e gloriosa. Dov'è il tuo zelo e la tua potenza? Il fremito delle tue viscere e le tue tenere compassioni verso di me sono forse state represse? |
| 16 | For thou art our Father, though Abraham knoweth us not, and Israel doth not acknowledge us: thou, O Jehovah, art our Father; our Redeemer from everlasting is thy name. | Poiché tu sei nostro padre, anche se Abrahamo non ci conosceva e Israele ci ignora. Tu, o Eterno, sei nostro padre nostro Redentore, da sempre è il tuo nome. |
| 17 | O Jehovah, why dost thou make us to err from thy ways, and hardenest our heart from thy fear? Return for thy servants` sake, the tribes of thine inheritance. | O Eterno, perché ci fai errare lontano dalle tue vie e indurisci il nostro cuore perché non ti tema? Ritorna per amore dei tuoi servi, alle tribù della tua eredità. |
| 18 | Thy holy people possessed [it] but a little while: our adversaries have trodden down thy sanctuary. | Per poco tempo il tuo santo popolo, ha posseduto il paese; i nostri nemici hanno calpestato il tuo santuario. |
| 19 | We are become as they over whom thou never barest rule, as they that were not called by thy name. | Noi siamo diventati come quelli sui quali non hai mai governato, sui quali il tuo nome non è mai stato invocato. |
