De la justice, et voici des cris de détresse ! | For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry. | Or la vigna dell'Eterno degli eserciti è la casa d'Israele, e gli uomini di Giuda sono la piantagione della sua delizia. | 11 | Malheur à ceux qui de bon matin Courent après les boissons enivrantes, Et qui bien avant dans la nuit Sont échauffés par le vin ! | Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them! | Guai a quelli che si alzano al mattino presto per correre dietro a bevande inebrianti e si attardano fino a sera finché il vino li infiammi! |
| 12 | La harpe et le luth, le tambourin, la flûte et le vin, animent leurs festins ; Mais ils ne prennent point garde à l'oeuvre de l'Éternel, Et ils ne voient point le travail de ses mains. | And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are [in] their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands. | Nei loro banchetti vi è la cetra, l'arpa, il tamburello, il flauto e il vino, ma non prestano attenzione all'opera dell'Eterno e non considerano ciò che ha fatto con le sue mani. |

| 16 | L'Éternel des armées sera élevé par le jugement, Et le Dieu saint sera sanctifié par la justice. | but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness. | Ma l'Eterno degli eserciti sarà esaltato nel giudizio, e il Dio santo si mostrerà santo nella giustizia. |
| 17 | Des brebis paîtront comme sur leur pâturage, Et des étrangers dévoreront les possessions ruinées des riches. | Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat. | Allora gli agnelli pascoleranno come nei loro pascoli e gli stranieri divoreranno i campi deserti dei ricchi. |

Que le décret du Saint d'Israël arrive et s'exécute, Afin que nous le connaissions ! | that say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it! | e dicono: Faccia presto, realizzi l'opera sua, affinché la possiamo vedere. | 20 | Malheur à ceux qui appellent le mal bien, et le bien mal, Qui changent les ténèbres en lumière, et la lumière en ténèbres, Qui changent l'amertume en douceur, et la douceur en amertume ! | Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! | Guai a quelli che chiamano bene il male, e male il bene che cambiano le tenebre in luce e la luce in tenebre, che cambiano l'amaro in dolce e il dolce in amaro! |

| 24 | C'est pourquoi, comme une langue de feu dévore le chaume, Et comme la flamme consume l'herbe sèche, Ainsi leur racine sera comme de la pourriture, Et leur fleur se dissipera comme de la poussière ; Car ils ont dédaigné la loi de l'Éternel des armées, Et ils ont méprisé la parole du Saint d'Israël. | Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. | Perciò, come una lingua di fuoco divora la stoppia e la fiamma consuma la paglia, così la loro radice sarà come marciume e il loro fiore sarà portato via come polvere, perché hanno rigettato la legge dell'Eterno degli eserciti e hanno disprezzato la parola del Santo d'Israele. |
| 25 | C'est pourquoi la colère de l'Éternel s'enflamme contre son peuple, Il étend sa main sur lui, et il le frappe ; Les montagnes s'ébranlent ; Et les cadavres sont comme des balayures au milieu des rues. Malgré tout cela, sa colère ne s'apaise point, Et sa main est encore étendue. | Therefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still. | Per questo l'ira dell'Eterno si è accesa contro il suo popolo; egli ha steso la sua mano contro di lui e lo ha colpito così i monti hanno tremato e i loro cadaveri giacciono come spazzatura in mezzo alle strade; malgrado ciò la sua ira non si è placata e la sua mano rimane distesa. |
| 26 | Il élève une bannière pour les peuples lointains, Et il en siffle un des extrémités de la terre : Et voici, il arrive avec promptitude et légèreté. | And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly. | Egli alzerà una bandiera per le nazioni lontane e fischierà loro dalle estremità della terra, ed ecco, esse verranno velocemente e prontamente. |
| 27 | Nul n'est fatigué, nul ne chancelle de lassitude, Personne ne sommeille, ni ne dort ; Aucun n'a la ceinture de ses reins détachée, Ni la courroie de ses souliers rompue. | None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken: | Nessuno fra esse sarà stanco o vacillerà, nessuno sonnecchierà o dormirà, la cintura dei loro lombi, non si scioglierà, né si romperà il legaccio dei loro calzari. |
| 28 | Ses flèches sont aiguës, Et tous ses arcs tendus ; Les sabots de ses chevaux ressemblent à des cailloux, Et les roues de ses chars à un tourbillon. | whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses` hoofs shall be accounted as flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind: | Le loro frecce sono acuminate e tutti i loro archi sono tesi; gli zoccoli dei loro cavalli sembreranno pietre e le ruote dei loro carri un turbine. |
| 29 | Son rugissement est comme celui d'une lionne ; Il rugit comme des lionceaux, il gronde, et saisit la proie, Il l'emporte, et personne ne vient au secours. | their roaring shall be like a lioness, they shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver. | Il loro ruggito sarà come quello di un leone, ruggiranno come leoncelli; sì, ruggiranno, afferreranno la preda e la porteranno via al sicuro e nessuno gliela strapperà. |
| 30 | En ce jour, il y aura près de lui un mugissement, Comme celui d'une tempête sur mer ; En regardant la terre, on ne verra que ténèbres, Avec des alternatives d'angoisse et d'espérance ; Au ciel, l'obscurité régnera. | And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness [and] distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof. | In quel giorno ruggiranno contro Giuda, come rugge il mare; a guardare il paese, ecco tenebre e angoscia, e la luce sarà oscurata dalle nuvole. |
