| 4 | And the heart of the rash shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall be ready to speak plainly. | Il cuore degli sconsiderati acquisterà conoscenza e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà speditamente e chiaramente. |
| 5 | The fool shall be no more called noble, nor the churl said to be bountiful. | L'uomo spregevole non sarà più chiamato nobile né il disonesto sarà detto magnanimo |
| 6 | For the fool will speak folly, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise profaneness, and to utter error against Jehovah, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and to cause the drink of the thirsty to fail. | Poiché l'uomo spregevole proferisce cose spregevoli e il suo cuore si dà all'iniquità, per commettere empietà e dire cose irriverenti contro l'Eterno, per lasciare vuoto lo stomaco dell'affamato e far mancare la bevanda all'assetato. |
| 7 | And the instruments of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the meek with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. | Le armi del disonesto sono inique egli escogita disegni malvagi per distruggere il misero con parole bugiarde, anche quando il bisognoso afferma il giusto. |

| 9 | Rise up, ye women that are at ease, [and] hear my voice; ye careless daughters, give ear unto my speech. | Levatevi, o donne che vivete nell'agiatezza, e ascoltate la mia voce; o figlie sconsiderate, prestate orecchio alla mia parola! |
| 10 | For days beyond a year shall ye be troubled, ye careless women; for the vintage shall fail, the ingathering shall not come. | Fra un anno e qualche giorno voi tremerete, o donne sconsiderate, perché la vendemmia andrà male e il raccolto non si farà. |
| 11 | Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones; strip you, and make you bare, and gird [sackcloth] upon your loins. | Fremete, o donne che vivete nell'agiatezza, tremate, o donne sconsiderate. Deponete le vostre vesti, denudatevi e cingetevi i lombi col cilicio, |

| 14 | For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; | Poiché il palazzo sarà abbandonato, la città rumorosa sarà deserta, l'Ofel, e la torre diventeranno per sempre caverne, gioia degli asini selvatici e pascolo dei greggi, |

| 16 | Then justice shall dwell in the wilderness; and righteousness shall abide in the fruitful field. | Allora il diritto abiterà nel deserto e la giustizia dimorerà nel frutteto. |
| 17 | And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness, quietness and confidence for ever. | L'effetto della giustizia sarà la pace il risultato della giustizia tranquillità e sicurezza per sempre. |
| 18 | And my people shall abide in a peaceable habitation, and in safe dwellings, and in quiet resting-places. | Il mio popolo abiterà in una dimora di pace, in abitazioni sicure e in quieti luoghi di riposo, |
| 19 | But it shall hail in the downfall of the forest; and the city shall be utterly laid low. | anche se cadesse grandine sulla foresta e la città fosse grandemente abbassata. |
