| 3 | Car je me camperai en rond contre toi, et je t'assiégerai avec des tours, et je dresserai contre toi des forts. | And I will encamp against thee round about, and will lay siege against thee with posted troops, and I will raise siege works against thee. |
| 4 | Et tu seras abaissée, et tu parleras comme de dedans la terre, et ta parole sera basse, comme si elle sortait de la poussière, et ta voix, comme celle d'un esprit de Python, sortira de la terre, et ta parole marmottera comme si elle sortait de la poussière. | And thou shalt be brought down, and shalt speak out of the ground, and thy speech shall be low out of the dust; and thy voice shall be as of one that hath a familiar spirit, out of the ground, and thy speech shall whisper out of the dust. |
| 5 | Et la multitude de tes étrangers sera comme de la poudre menue; et la multitude des terribles sera comme de la balle qui passe, et cela sera pour un petit moment. | But the multitude of thy foes shall be like small dust, and the multitude of the terrible ones as chaff that passeth away: yea, it shall be in an instant suddenly. |
| 6 | Elle sera visitée par l'Eternel des armées avec des tonnerres, et avec des tremblements de terre, et avec un grand bruit, tempête, tourbillon, et flamme de feu dévorant. | She shall be visited of Jehovah of hosts with thunder, and with earthquake, and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of a devouring fire. |
| 7 | Et la multitude de toutes les nations qui feront la guerre à Ariel, et tous ceux qui combattront contre la ville, et ceux qui la serreront de près, seront comme un songe d'une vision de nuit. | And the multitude of all the nations that fight against Ariel, even all that fight against her and her stronghold, and that distress her, shall be as a dream, a vision of the night. |
| 8 | Et il arrivera, que comme celui qui a faim, songe qu'il mange, mais quand il est réveillé, son âme est vide; et comme celui qui a soif, songe qu'il boit, mais quand il est réveillé, il est las, et son âme est altérée, ainsi sera la multitude de toutes les nations qui combattront contre la montagne de Sion. | And it shall be as when a hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: so shall the multitude of all the nations be, that fight against mount Zion. |

| 10 | Car l'Eternel a répandu sur vous un esprit d'un profond dormir; il a bouché vos yeux; il a bandé ceux de vos Prophètes, et de vos principaux Voyants. | For Jehovah hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes, the prophets; and your heads, the seers, hath he covered. |
| 11 | Et toute vision vous sera comme les paroles d'un livre cacheté qu'on donnerait à un homme de lettres en lui disant; Nous te prions, lis ceci; et il répondrait: Je ne saurais, car il est cacheté. | And all vision is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I cannot, for it is sealed: |
| 12 | Puis si on le donnait à quelqu'un qui ne fût point homme de lettres, en lui disant; nous te prions, lis ceci; il répondrait; je ne sais point lire. | and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee; and he saith, I am not learned. |
| 13 | C'est pourquoi le Seigneur dit: parce que ce peuple s'approche de moi de sa bouche, et qu'ils m'honorent de leurs lèvres, mais qu'il a éloigné son coeur de moi, et parce que la crainte qu'ils ont de moi est un commandement d'hommes, enseigné par des hommes; | And the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw nigh [unto me], and with their mouth and with their lips to honor me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear of me is a commandment of men which hath been taught [them]; |
| 14 | A cause de cela, voici, je continuerai de faire à l'égard de ce peuple-ci des merveilles et des prodiges étranges: c'est que la sapience de ses sages périra, et l'intelligence de ses hommes savants disparaîtra. | therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder; and the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid. |
| 15 | Malheur à ceux qui veulent aller plus loin que l'Eternel, pour cacher leur conseil, et dont les oeuvres sont dans les ténèbres, et qui disent: qui nous voit, et qui nous aperçoit? | Woe unto them that hide deep their counsel from Jehovah, and whose works are in the dark, and that say, Who seeth us? and who knoweth us? |
| 16 | Ce que vous renversez ne sera-t-il pas réputé comme l'argile d'un potier? même, l'ouvrage dira-t-il de celui qui l'a fait: il ne m'a point fait? et la chose formée dira-t-elle de celui qui l'a formée; il n'y entendait rien? | Ye turn things upside down! Shall the potter be esteemed as clay; that the thing made should say of him that made it, He made me not; or the thing formed say of him that formed it, He hath no understanding? |
| 17 | Le Liban ne sera-t-il pas encore dans très-peu de temps changé en un Carmel? et Carmel ne sera-t-il pas réputé comme une forêt? | Is it not yet a very little while, and Lebanon shall be turned into a fruitful field, and the fruitful field shall be esteemed as a forest? |
| 18 | Et les sourds entendront en ce jour-là les paroles du livre, et les yeux des aveugles étant délivrés de l'obscurité et des ténèbres, verront. | And in that day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the blind shall see out of obscurity and out of darkness. |
| 19 | Et les débonnaires auront joie sur joie en l'Eternel, et les pauvres d'entre les hommes s'égayeront au Saint d'Israël. | The meek also shall increase their joy in Jehovah, and the poor among men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel. |
| 20 | Car le terrible prendra fin, et le moqueur sera consumé, et tous ceux qui veillent pour commettre l'iniquité, seront retranchés. | For the terrible one is brought to nought, and the scoffer ceaseth, and all they that watch for iniquity are cut off; |
| 21 | Ceux qui font tenir pour coupables les hommes pour une parole, et qui tendent des pièges à celui qui les reprend en la porte, et qui font tomber le juste en confusion. | that make a man an offender in [his] cause, and lay a snare for him that reproveth in the gate, and turn aside the just with a thing of nought. |
| 22 | C'est pourquoi l'Eternel, qui a racheté Abraham, a dit ainsi touchant la maison de Jacob; Jacob ne sera plus honteux, et sa face ne pâlira plus. | Therefore thus saith Jehovah, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob: Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale. |
| 23 | Car quand il verra ses fils être un ouvrage de mes mains au milieu de lui, ils sanctifieront mon Nom; ils sanctifieront, dis-je, le Saint de Jacob, et redouteront le Dieu d'Israël. | But when he seeth his children, the work of my hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name; yea, they shall sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall stand in awe of the God of Israel. |
| 24 | Et ceux dont l'Esprit s'était fourvoyé deviendront prudents; et ceux qui murmuraient apprendront la doctrine. | They also that err in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmur shall receive instruction. |
