Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;Be ye therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;Siate dunque imitatori di Dio, come figli carissimi,
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.and walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for an odor of a sweet smell.e camminate nell'Amore, come anche Cristo ci ha amati e ha dato se stesso per noi, in offerta e sacrificio a Dio come un profumo di odore soave.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;Ma come si conviene ai santi, né fornicazione, né impurità alcuna, né avarizia siano neppure nominate fra di voi;
Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.nor filthiness, nor foolish talking, or jesting, which are not befitting: but rather giving of thanks.lo stesso si dica della disonestà, del parlare sciocco e della buffoneria, le quali cose sono sconvenienti, ma piuttosto abbondi il rendimento di grazie.
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.For this ye know of a surety, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.Sappiate infatti questo: nessun fornicatore o immondo o avaro, il quale è un idolatra, ha alcuna eredità nel regno di Cristo e di Dio.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.Let no man deceive you with empty words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience.
Be not ye therefore partakers with them.Be not ye therefore partakers with them;Non siate dunque loro compagni.
For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:For ye were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord: walk as children of lightUn tempo infatti eravate tenebre, ma ora siete luce nel Signore; camminate dunque come figli di luce.
(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)(for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),poiché il frutto dello Spirito consiste in tutto ciò che è bontà, giustizia e verità,
Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;esaminando ciò che è accettevole al Signore.
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.and have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even reprove them;E non partecipate alle opere infruttuose delle tenebre, ma piuttosto riprovatele,
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.for the things which are done by them in secret it is a shame even to speak of.perché è persino vergognoso dire le cose che si fanno da costoro in segreto.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.But all things when they are reproved are made manifest by the light: for everything that is made manifest is light.
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.Wherefore [he] saith, Awake, thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine upon thee.
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,Look therefore carefully how ye walk, not as unwise, but as wise;Badate dunque di camminare con diligenza non da stolti, ma come saggi,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.redeeming the time, because the days are evil.riscattando il tempo, perché i giorni sono malvagi.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.Wherefore be ye not foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.Non siate perciò disavveduti, ma intendete quale sia la volontà del Signore.
And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;And be not drunken with wine, wherein is riot, but be filled with the Spirit;E non vi inebriate di vino, nel quale vi è dissolutezza, ma siate ripieni di Spirito,
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;speaking one to another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord;parlandovi gli uni gli altri con salmi inni e cantici spirituali, cantando e lodando col vostro cuore il Signore,
Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;giving thanks always for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God, even the Father;rendendo continuamente grazie per ogni cosa a Dio e Padre nel nome del Signor nostro Gesù Cristo;
Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.subjecting yourselves one to another in the fear of Christ.sottomettetevi gli uni agli altri nel timore di Cristo.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.Wives, [be in subjection] unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.
For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.For the husband is the head of the wife, and Christ also is the head of the church, [being] himself the saviour of the body.poiché il marito è capo della moglie, come anche Cristo è capo della chiesa, ed egli stesso è Salvatore del corpo.
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.But as the church is subject to Christ, so [let] the wives also [be] to their husbands in everything.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;Mariti, amate le vostre mogli, come anche Cristo ha amato la chiesa e ha dato se stesso per lei,
That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word,per santificarla, avendola purificata col lavacro dell'acqua per mezzo della parola,
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.that he might present the church to himself a glorious [church], not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.per far comparire la chiesa davanti a sé gloriosa, senza macchia o ruga o alcunché di simile, ma perché sia santa ed irreprensibile.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his own wife loveth himself:Così i mariti devono amare le loro mogli, come i loro propri corpi; chi ama la propria moglie ama se stesso.
For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:for no man ever hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as Christ also the church;Nessuno infatti ebbe mai in odio la sua carne, ma la nutre e la cura teneramente, come anche il Signore fa con la chiesa,
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.because we are members of his body.poiché noi siamo membra del suo corpo, della sua carne e delle sue ossa.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh.
This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church.
Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.Nevertheless do ye also severally love each one his own wife even as himself; and [let] the wife [see] that she fear her husband.
