| 15 | C'est pourquoi aussi ayant entendu parler de la foi que vous avez au Seigneur Jésus, et de la charité que vous avez envers tous les Saints, | For this cause I also, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which is among you, and the love which [ye show] toward all the saints, |
| 16 | Je ne cesse point de rendre grâces pour vous dans mes prières; | cease not to give thanks for you, making mention [of you] in my prayers; |
| 17 | Afin que le Dieu de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ, le Père de gloire, vous donne l'Esprit de sagesse, et de révélation, dans ce qui regarde sa connaissance; | that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him; |
| 18 | Qu'il illumine les yeux de votre entendement, afin que vous sachiez quelle est l'espérance de sa vocation, et quelles sont les richesses de la gloire de son héritage dans les Saints; | having the eyes of your heart enlightened, that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, |
| 19 | Et quelle est l'excellente grandeur de sa puissance envers nous qui croyons selon l'efficace de la puissance de sa force: | and what the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might |
| 20 | Laquelle il a déployée avec efficace en Christ, quand il l'a ressuscité des morts, et qu'il l’a fait asseoir à sa droite dans les lieux célestes, | which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and made him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly [places], |
| 21 | Au-dessus de toute Principauté, de toute Puissance, de toute Dignité et de toute Domination, et au-dessus de tout Nom qui se nomme, non-seulement en ce siècle, mais aussi en celui qui est à venir. | far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: |
| 22 | Et il a assujetti toutes choses sous ses pieds, et l'a établi sur toutes choses pour être le Chef de l'Eglise; | and he put all things in subjection under his feet, and gave him to be head over all things to the church, |
| 23 | Qui est son Corps, et l'accomplissement de celui qui accomplit tout en tous. | which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. |
