| 2 | Afin que tu craignes l'Eternel ton Dieu, en gardant durant tous les jours de ta vie, toi, et ton fils, et le fils de ton fils, tous ces statuts et ces commandements que je te prescris, et afin que tes jours soient prolongés. | that thou mightest fear Jehovah thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son`s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged. |
| 3 | Tu les écouteras donc, ô Israël! et tu prendras garde de les faire, afin que tu prospères, et que vous soyez fort multipliés au pays découlant de lait et de miel, ainsi que l'Eternel, le Dieu de tes pères, l'a dit. | Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath promised unto thee, in a land flowing with milk and honey. |

| 5 | Tu aimeras donc l'Eternel ton Dieu de tout ton coeur, de toute ton âme, et de toutes tes forces. | and thou shalt love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. |
| 6 | Et ces paroles que je te commande aujourd'hui seront en ton coeur. | And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be upon thy heart; |
| 7 | Tu les enseigneras soigneusement à tes enfants, et tu t'en entretiendras quand tu demeureras en ta maison, quand tu voyageras, quand tu te coucheras, et quand tu te lèveras. | and thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. |
| 8 | Et tu les lieras pour être un signe sur tes mains, et elles seront comme des fronteaux entre tes yeux. | And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be for frontlets between thine eyes. |
| 9 | Tu les écriras aussi sur les poteaux de ta maison, et sur tes portes. | And thou shalt write them upon the door-posts of thy house, and upon thy gates. |
| 10 | Et il arrivera que quand l'Eternel ton Dieu t'aura fait entrer au pays qu'il a juré à tes pères, Abraham, Isaac, et Jacob, de te donner; dans les grandes et bonnes villes que tu n'as point bâties; | And it shall be, when Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee, great and goodly cities, which thou buildest not, |
| 11 | Dans les maisons pleines de tous biens que tu n'as point remplies; vers les puits creusés, que tu n'as point creusés; près des vignes et des oliviers que tu n'as point plantés; tu mangeras, et tu seras rassasié. | and houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and cisterns hewn out, which thou hewedst not, vineyards and olive-trees, which thou plantedst not, and thou shalt eat and be full; |
| 12 | Mais prends garde à toi, de peur que tu n'oublies l'Eternel qui t'a tiré du pays d'Egypte, de la maison de servitude. | then beware lest thou forget Jehovah, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. |
| 13 | Tu craindras l'Eternel ton Dieu, tu le serviras, et tu jureras par son Nom. | Thou shalt fear Jehovah thy God; and him shalt thou serve, and shalt swear by his name. |
| 14 | Vous ne marcherez point après les autres dieux, d'entre les dieux des peuples qui seront autour de vous. | Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples that are round about you; |
| 15 | Car le Dieu Fort et jaloux, qui est l'Eternel ton Dieu, est au milieu de toi; de peur que la colère de l'Eternel ton Dieu ne s'enflamme contre toi, et qu'il ne t'extermine de dessus la terre. | for Jehovah thy God in the midst of thee is a jealous God; lest the anger of Jehovah thy God be kindled against thee, and he destroy thee from off the face of the earth. |
| 16 | Vous ne tenterez point l'Eternel votre Dieu, comme vous l'avez tenté en Massa. | Ye shall not tempt Jehovah your God, as ye tempted him in Massah. |
| 17 | Vous garderez soigneusement les commandements de l'Eternel votre Dieu, et ses témoignages, et ses statuts qu'il vous a commandés. | Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of Jehovah your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee. |
| 18 | Tu feras donc ce que l'Eternel approuve et trouve droit et bon, afin que tu prospères, et que tu entres au bon pays duquel l'Eternel a juré à tes pères, et que tu le possèdes. | And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of Jehovah; that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, |
| 19 | En chassant tous tes ennemis de devant toi, comme l'Eternel en a parlé. | to thrust out all thine enemies from before thee, as Jehovah hath spoken. |
| 20 | Quand ton enfant t'interrogera à l'avenir, en disant: Que veulent dire ces témoignages, et ces statuts, et ces droits que l'Eternel notre Dieu vous a commandés? | When thy son asketh thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which Jehovah our God hath commanded you? |
| 21 | Alors tu diras à ton enfant: Nous avons été esclaves de Pharaon en Egypte, et l'Eternel nous a retirés d'Egypte à main forte; | then thou shalt say unto thy son, We were Pharaoh`s bondmen in Egypt: and Jehovah brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand; |
| 22 | Et l'Eternel a fait des signes et des miracles, grands et nuisibles en Egypte, sur Pharaon, et sur toute sa maison, comme nous l'avons vu. | and Jehovah showed signs and wonders, great and sore, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his house, before our eyes; |
| 23 | Et il nous a fait sortir de là, pour nous faire entrer au pays duquel il avait juré à nos pères, de nous le donner; | and he brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers. |
| 24 | Ainsi l'Eternel nous a commandé d'observer tous ces statuts, en craignant l'Eternel notre Dieu, afin que nous prospérions toujours, et que notre vie soit préservée, comme il paraît aujourd'hui. | And Jehovah commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Jehovah our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day. |
| 25 | Et ceci sera notre justice, savoir quand nous aurons pris garde de faire tous ces commandements devant l'Eternel notre Dieu, selon qu'il nous l'a commandé. | And it shall be righteousness unto us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Jehovah our God, as he hath commanded us. |
