| 1 | Alors Moïse monta des campagnes de Moab sur la montagne de Nébo, au sommet de la colline qui est vis-à-vis de Jéricho, et l'Eternel lui fit voir tout le pays, depuis Galaad jusques à Dan, | And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And Jehovah showed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, |
| 2 | Avec tout le pays de Nephthali, et le pays d'Ephraïm et de Manassé, et tout le pays de Juda, jusqu'à la mer Occidentale; | and all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the hinder sea, |
| 3 | Et le Midi, et la campagne de la plaine de Jérico, la ville des palmes; jusqu'à Tsohar. | and the South, and the Plain of the valley of Jericho the city of palm-trees, unto Zoar. |
| 4 | Et l'Eternel lui dit: C'est ici le pays dont j'ai juré à Abraham, à Isaac, et à Jacob, en disant: Je le donnerai à ta postérité; je te l'ai fait voir de tes yeux; mais tu n'y entreras point. | And Jehovah said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. |
| 5 | Ainsi Moïse, serviteur de l'Eternel, mourut là au pays de Moab, selon le commandement de l'Eternel. | So Moses the servant of Jehovah died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of Jehovah. |
| 6 | Et il l'ensevelit dans la vallée, au pays de Moab, vis-à-vis de Beth-Péhor; et personne n'a connu son sépulcre jusqu'à aujourd'hui. | And he buried him in the valley in the land of Moab over against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. |
| 7 | Or Moïse était âgé de six vingts ans quand il mourut; sa vue n'était point diminuée, et sa vigueur n'était point passée. | And Moses was a hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. |
| 8 | Et les enfants d'Israël pleurèrent Moïse trente jours dans les campagnes de Moab, et ainsi les jours des pleurs du deuil de Moïse furent accomplis. | And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping in the mourning for Moses were ended. |
| 9 | Et Josué, fils de Nun, fut rempli de l'Esprit de sagesse, parce que Moïse lui avait imposé les mains; et les enfants d'Israël lui obéirent, et firent ainsi que l'Eternel avait commandé à Moïse. | And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as Jehovah commanded Moses. |
| 10 | Et il ne s'est jamais levé en Israël de Prophète comme Moïse, qui ait connu l'Eternel face à face; | And there hath not arisen a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom Jehovah knew face to face, |
| 11 | Selon tous les signes et les miracles que l'Eternel l'envoya faire au pays d'Egypte, devant Pharaon, et tous ses serviteurs, et tout son pays; | in all the signs and the wonders, which Jehovah sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, |
| 12 | Selon toute cette main forte, et toutes ces grandes oeuvres redoutables, que Moïse fit à la vue de tout Israël. | and in all the mighty hand, and in all the great terror, which Moses wrought in the sight of all Israel. |
