| 1 | And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, | Poi Mosè salì dalle pianure di Moab sul Monte Nebo, in vetta al Pisgah, che è sulla sponda opposta a Gerico. E l'Eterno gli fece vedere tutto il paese di Galaad fino a Dan, |
| 2 | And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, | tutto Neftali, il paese di Efraim e di Manasse, tutto il paese di Giuda fino al mare occidentale, |
| 3 | And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. | Neghev e la pianura della valle di Gerico, città delle palme, fino a Tsoar. |
| 4 | And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither. | L'Eterno gli disse: Questo è il paese che ho promesso con giuramento ad Abrahamo, a Isacco e a Giacobbe, dicendo: "Io lo darò alla tua discendenza". Io te l'ho fatto vedere con i tuoi occhi, ma tu non vi entrerai! |
| 5 | So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. | Così Mosè, servo dell'Eterno, morì là, nel paese di Moab, secondo la parola dell'Eterno. |
| 6 | And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. | E l'Eterno lo seppellì nella valle del paese di Moab, di fronte a Beth-Peor; e nessuno ha conosciuto fino ad oggi il luogo della sua tomba. |
| 7 | And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. | Or Mosè aveva centovent'anni quando morì; la sua vista non si era indebolita e il suo vigore non era venuto meno. |
| 8 | And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. | E i figli d'Israele lo piansero nelle pianure di Moab per trenta giorni; poi i giorni di lutto e di pianto per Mosè terminarono. |
| 9 | And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses. | Allora Giosuè, figlio di Nun, fu ripieno dello spirito di sapienza, perché Mosè aveva imposto le mani su di lui; così i figli d'Israele gli ubbidirono e fecero come l'Eterno aveva comandato a Mosè. |
| 10 | And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, | Non è più sorto in Israele un profeta simile a Mosè, con il quale l'Eterno trattava faccia a faccia, |
| 11 | In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, | in tutti i segni e prodigi che l'Eterno lo mandò a fare nel paese d'Egitto davanti a Faraone, davanti a tutti i suoi servi e in tutto il suo paese, |
| 12 | And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel. | in tutta quella grande potenza e in tutte le cose grandi e tremende che Mosè compì davanti agi occhi di tutto Israele. |
