| 3 | alors Yahweh, ton Dieu, ramènera tes captifs et aura compassion de toi; il te rassemblera de nouveau du milieu de tous les peuples chez lesquels Yahweh, ton Dieu, t'aura dispersé. | that then Jehovah thy God will turn thy captivity, and have compassion upon thee, and will return and gather thee from all the peoples, whither Jehovah thy God hath scattered thee. |
| 4 | Quand tes exilés seraient à l'extrémité du ciel, Yahweh, ton Dieu, te rassemblera de là, il ira jusque-là te prendre. | If [any of] thine outcasts be in the uttermost parts of heaven, from thence will Jehovah thy God gather thee, and from thence will he fetch thee: |
| 5 | Yahweh, ton Dieu, te ramènera dans le pays qu'auront possédé tes pères, et tu le posséderas; il te fera du bien et te rendra plus nombreux que tes pères. | and Jehovah thy God will bring thee into the land which thy fathers possessed, and thou shalt possess it; and he will do thee good, and multiply thee above thy fathers. |
| 6 | Yahweh, ton Dieu, circoncira ton coeur et le coeur de ta postérité, pour que tu aimes Yahweh, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur et de toute ton âme, afin que tu vives. | And Jehovah thy God will circumcise thy heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live. |
| 7 | Yahweh, ton Dieu, fera tomber toutes ces malédictions sur tes ennemis, sur ceux qui t'auront haï et persécuté. | And Jehovah thy God will put all these curses upon thine enemies, and on them that hate thee, that persecuted thee. |
| 8 | Et toi, de nouveau, tu écouteras la voix de Yahweh, et tu mettras en pratique tous ces commandements que je te prescris aujourd'hui; | And thou shalt return and obey the voice of Jehovah, and do all his commandments which I command thee this day. |
| 9 | et Yahweh, ton Dieu, te comblera de biens dans tout le travail de tes mains, dans le fruit de tes entrailles, dans le fruit de tes troupeaux et dans le fruit de ton sol; car Yahweh se réjouira de nouveau à ton sujet en te faisant du bien, comme il s'est réjoui au sujet de tes pères, | And Jehovah thy God will make thee plenteous in all the work of thy hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, for good: for Jehovah will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers; |
| 10 | si tu obéis à la voix de Yahweh, ton Dieu, en observant ses commandements et ses préceptes écrits dans ce livre de la loi, si tu reviens à Yahweh, ton Dieu, de tout ton coeur et de toute ton âme. | if thou shalt obey the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law; if thou turn unto Jehovah thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul. |
| 11 | Ce commandement que je te prescris aujourd'hui n'est pas au-dessus de toi ni hors de ta portée. | For this commandment which I command thee this day, it is not too hard for thee, neither is it far off. |
| 12 | Il n'est pas dans le ciel, pour que tu dises : «Qui montera pour nous au ciel et nous l'ira chercher, et nous le fera entendre, afin que nous l'accomplissions ?» | It is not in heaven, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it? |
| 13 | Il n'est pas au-delà de la mer, pour que tu dises : «Qui passera pour nous au delà de la mer et nous l'ira chercher, et nous le fera entendre, afin que nous l'accomplissions ?» | Neither is it beyond the sea, that thou shouldest say, Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it unto us, and make us to hear it, that we may do it? |
| 14 | Mais la parole est tout près de toi, dans ta bouche et dans ton coeur, afin que tu l'accomplisses. | But the word is very nigh unto thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart, that thou mayest do it. |
| 15 | Vois, j'ai mis aujourd'hui devant toi la vie et le bien, la mort et le mal, | See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil; |
| 16 | en te prescrivant aujourd'hui d'aimer Yahweh, ton Dieu, de marcher dans ses voies et d'observer ses commandements, ses lois et ses ordonnances, afin que tu vives et que tu multiplies, et que Yahweh, ton Dieu, te bénisse dans le pays où tu vas entrer pour le posséder. | in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it. |
| 17 | Mais si ton coeur se détourne, que tu n'écoutes point et que tu te laisses entraîner à te prosterner devant d'autres dieux et à les servir, | But if thy heart turn away, and thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; |
| 18 | je vous déclare en ce jour que vous périrez certainement; vous ne prolongerez pas vos jours sur la terre où après avoir passé le Jourdain, tu vas entrer pour la posséder. | I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days in the land, whither thou passest over the Jordan to go in to possess it. |
| 19 | J'en prends aujourd'hui à témoin contre vous le ciel et la terre : j'ai mis devant toi la vie et la mort, la bénédiction et la malédiction. Choisis donc la vie, afin que tu vives, toi et ta postérité, | I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; |
| 20 | en aimant Yahweh, ton Dieu, en écoutant sa voix et en t'attachant à lui; car cela, c'est ta vie et de longs jours à demeurer dans la terre que Yahweh a juré de donner à tes pères, Abraham, Isaac et Jacob.» | to love Jehovah thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. |
