| 1 | When a man taketh a wife, and marrieth her, then it shall be, if she find no favor in his eyes, because he hath found some unseemly thing in her, that he shall write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. | Quando uno prende una donna e la sposa, se poi avviene che essa non gli è più gradita perché ha trovato in lei qualcosa di vergognoso, scriva per lei un libello di ripudio, glielo dia in mano e la mandi via da casa sua; |
| 2 | And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man`s [wife]. | se ella esce da casa sua e va e diviene moglie di un altro uomo, |
| 3 | And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, who took her to be his wife; | se quest'ultimo marito la prende in odio, scrive per lei un libello di ripudio, glielo da in mano e la manda via da casa sua, o se quest'ultimo marito che l'aveva presa in moglie viene a morire, |
| 4 | her former husband, who sent her away, may not take her again to be his wife, after that she is defiled; for that is abomination before Jehovah: and thou shalt not cause the land to sin, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance. | il primo marito che l'aveva mandata via non potrà riprenderla in moglie, dopo che è stata contaminata perché questo è un abominio agli occhi dell'Eterno; e tu non macchierai di peccato il paese che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti dà in eredità. |
| 5 | When a man taketh a new wife, he shall not go out in the host, neither shall he be charged with any business: he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer his wife whom he hath taken. | Se un uomo si è appena sposato non andrà in guerra e non gli sarà dato alcun incarico; sarà libero a casa sua per un anno e farà lieta la moglie che ha sposato. |
| 6 | No man shall take the mill or the upper millstone to pledge; for he taketh [a man`s] life to pledge. | Nessuno prenderà in pegno la macina inferiore o la macina superiore, perché sarebbe come prendere in pegno la vita di uno. |
| 7 | If a man be found stealing any of his brethren of the children of Israel, and he deal with him as a slave, or sell him; then that thief shall die: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee. | Se si sorprende un uomo a rapire uno dei suoi fratelli fra i figli d'Israele e lo maltratta e lo vende, quel rapitore sarà messo a morte; così estirperai il male di mezzo a te. |
| 8 | Take heed in the plague of leprosy, that thou observe diligently, and do according to all that the priests the Levites shall teach you: as I commanded them, so ye shall observe to do. | In caso di lebbra bada bene di osservare diligentemente e fare tutto ciò che i sacerdoti levitici vi insegneranno; avrete cura di fare come io ho loro comandato. |
| 9 | Remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Miriam, by the way as ye came forth out of Egypt. | Ricorda ciò che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, fece a Miriam durante il viaggio, dopo che usciste dall'Egitto. |
| 10 | When thou dost lend thy neighbor any manner of loan, thou shalt not go into his house to fetch his pledge. | Quando presti qualcosa al tuo vicino non entrerai in casa sua per prendere il suo pegno; |
| 11 | Thou shalt stand without, and the man to whom thou dost lend shall bring forth the pledge without unto thee. | rimarrai fuori, e l'uomo a cui hai fatto il prestito ti porterà il pegno fuori. |
| 12 | And if he be a poor man, thou shalt not sleep with his pledge; | E se quell'uomo è povero, non andrai a dormire avendo ancora il suo pegno. |
| 13 | thou shalt surely restore to him the pledge when the sun goeth down, that he may sleep in his garment, and bless thee: and it shall be righteousness unto thee before Jehovah thy God. | Dovrai restituirgli il pegno, al tramonto del sole, affinché egli possa dormire nel suo mantello e benedirti; e questo ti sarà messo in conto di giustizia agli occhi dell'Eterno, il tuo DIO. |
| 14 | Thou shalt not oppress a hired servant that is poor and needy, whether he be of thy brethren, or of thy sojourners that are in thy land within thy gates: | Non defrauderai il bracciante povero e bisognoso, sia egli uno dei tuoi fratelli o uno degli stranieri che stanno nel tuo paese, entro le tue porte; |
| 15 | in his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor, and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry against thee unto Jehovah, and it be sin unto thee. | gli darai il suo salario il giorno stesso, prima che tramonti il sole, perché egli è povero e a questo va il suo desiderio; così egli non griderà contro di te all'Eterno e non ci sarà peccato in te. |
| 16 | The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin. | Non si metteranno a morte i padri per i figli né si metteranno a morte i figli per i padri; ognuno sarà messo a morte per il proprio peccato. |
| 17 | Thou shalt not wrest the justice [due] to the sojourner, [or] to the fatherless, nor take the widow`s raiment to pledge; | Non lederai il diritto dello straniero o dell'orfano e non prenderai in pegno la veste dalla vedova; |
| 18 | but thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in Egypt, and Jehovah thy God redeemed thee thence: therefore I command thee to do this thing. | ma ti ricorderai che sei stato schiavo in Egitto e che di là ti ha redento l'Eterno, il tuo DIO; perciò ti comando di fare questo. |
| 19 | When thou reapest thy harvest in thy field, and hast forgot a sheaf in the field, thou shalt not go again to fetch it: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hands. | Quando fai la mietitura nel tuo campo e dimentichi nel campo un covone, non tornerai indietro a prenderlo; sarà per lo straniero, per l'orfano e per la vedova, affinché l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti benedica in tutta l'opera delle tue mani. |
| 20 | When thou beatest thine olive-tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. | Quando bacchierai i tuoi ulivi, non tornerai a ripassare sui rami; le olive rimaste saranno per lo straniero, per l'orfano e per la vedova. |
| 21 | When thou gatherest [the grapes of] thy vineyard, thou shalt not glean it after thee: it shall be for the sojourner, for the fatherless, and for the widow. | Quando vendemmierai la tua vigna, non ripasserai una seconda volta; i grappoli rimasti saranno per lo straniero, per l'orfano e per la vedova. |
| 22 | And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt: therefore I command thee to do this thing. | E ti ricorderai che sei stato schiavo nel paese d'Egitto; perciò ti comando di fare questo. |
