| 1 | When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. | Quand tu iras à la guerre contre tes ennemis, et que tu verras des chevaux et des chariots, et un peuple plus grand que toi, n'aie point peur d'eux, car l'Eternel ton Dieu qui t'a fait monter hors du pays d'Egypte, est avec toi. | Quando andrai in guerra contro i tuoi nemici e vedrai cavalli e carri e gente in maggior numero di te, non aver paura di loro, perché l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, che ti fece salire dal paese d'Egitto, è con te. |
| 2 | And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people, | Et quand il faudra s'approcher pour combattre, le Sacrificateur s'avancera, et parlera au peuple, | Così, quando sarete sul punto di dare battaglia, il sacerdote si farà avanti e parlerà al popolo |
| 3 | And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; | Et leur dira: Ecoute Israël: Vous vous approchez aujourd'hui pour combattre vos ennemis; que votre coeur ne soit point lâche, ne craignez point, ne soyez point épouvantés, ne soyez point effrayés à cause d'eux. | e gli dirà: "Ascolta, Israele! | 5 | And the officers shall speak unto the people, saying, What man is there that hath built a new house, and hath not dedicated it? let him go and return to his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man dedicate it. | Alors les Officiers parleront au peuple, en disant: Qui est celui qui a bâti une maison neuve, et ne l'a point dédiée? qu'il s'en aille, et s'en retourne en sa maison, de peur qu'il ne meure en la bataille, et qu'un autre ne la dédie. | Poi gli ufficiali parleranno al popolo, dicendo: "C'è qualcuno che ha costruito una casa nuova e non l'ha ancora inaugurata? Se ne vada e ritorni a casa sua, perché non abbia a morire in battaglia e un altro inauguri la casa. |
| 6 | And what man is he that hath planted a vineyard, and hath not yet eaten of it? let him also go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man eat of it. | Et qui est celui qui a planté une vigne, et n'en a point encore cueilli le fruit? qu'il s'en aille, et s'en retourne en sa maison, de peur qu'il ne meure en la bataille, et qu'un autre n'en cueille le fruit. | C'è qualcuno che ha piantato una vigna e non ne ha ancora goduto il frutto? Se ne vada e ritorni a casa sua, perché non abbia a morire in battaglia e un altro ne goda il frutto. |
| 7 | And what man is there that hath betrothed a wife, and hath not taken her? let him go and return unto his house, lest he die in the battle, and another man take her. | Et qui est celui qui a fiancé une femme, et ne l'a point épousée? qu'il s'en aille, et s'en retourne en sa maison, de peur qu'il ne meure en la bataille, et qu'un autre ne l'épouse. | C'è qualcuno che si è fidanzato con una donna e non l'ha ancora presa con sé? Se ne vada e ritorni a casa sua, perché non abbia a morire in battaglia e un altro se la prenda". |
| 8 | And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren's heart faint as well as his heart. | Et les officiers continueront à parler au peuple, et diront: Si quelqu'un est timide et lâche, qu'il s'en aille, et s'en retourne en sa maison, de peur que le coeur de ses frères ne se fonde comme le sien. | Poi gli ufficiali parleranno ancora al popolo, dicendo: "C'è qualcuno che ha paura e a cui viene meno il coraggio? Se ne vada e ritorni a casa sua, perché il coraggio dei suoi fratelli non abbia a venir meno come il suo". |
| 9 | And it shall be, when the officers have made an end of speaking unto the people that they shall make captains of the armies to lead the people. | Et aussitôt que les officiers auront achevé de parler au peuple, ils rangeront les chefs des bandes à la tête de chaque troupe. | Ora quando gli ufficiali avranno finito di parlare al popolo, costituiranno sul popolo i comandanti delle schiere. |
| 10 | When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. | Quand tu t'approcheras d'une ville pour lui faire la guerre, tu lui présenteras la paix. | Quando ti avvicinerai a una città per attaccarla, le offrirai prima la pace. |
| 11 | And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. | Et si elle te fait une réponse de paix, et t'ouvre les portes, tout le peuple qui sera trouvé dedans, te sera tributaire, et sujet. | Se accetta la tua offerta di pace e ti apre le sue porte, tutto il popolo che vi si trova pagherà i tributi e ti servirà. |
| 12 | And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: | Mais si elle ne traite pas avec toi, et qu'elle fasse la guerre contre toi, alors tu mettras le siège contr'elle. | Ma se non vuole far pace con te e ti vuole far guerra, allora la stringerai d'assedio. |
| 13 | And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: | Et quand l'Eternel ton Dieu l'aura livrée entre tes mains, tu feras passer au fil de l'épée tous les hommes qui s'y trouveront. | Quando poi l'Eterno il tuo DIO, te la darà nelle mani, passerai tutti i maschi a fil di spada; |
| 14 | But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. | Réservant seulement les femmes, et les petits enfants. Et quant aux bêtes, et tout ce qui sera dans la ville, savoir tout son butin, tu le pilleras pour toi; et tu mangeras le butin de tes ennemis, que l'Eternel ton Dieu t'aura donné. | ma le donne i bambini, il bestiame e tutto ciò che sarà nella città, tutto quanto il suo bottino, li prenderai come tua preda; e mangerai il bottino dei tuoi nemici che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti ha dato. |
| 15 | Thus shalt thou do unto all the cities which are very far off from thee, which are not of the cities of these nations. | Tu en feras ainsi à toutes les villes qui sont fort éloignées de toi; lesquelles ne sont point des villes de ces nations-ci; | Così farai per tutte le città che sono molto lontane da te e che non sono città di queste nazioni. |
| 16 | But of the cities of these people, which the LORD thy God doth give thee for an inheritance, thou shalt save alive nothing that breatheth: | Mais tu ne laisseras vivre personne qui soit des villes de ces peuples que l'Eternel ton Dieu te donne en héritage. | Ma delle città di questi popoli che l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti dà in eredità, non lascerai niente che respiri in vita; |
| 17 | But thou shalt utterly destroy them; namely, the Hittites, and the Amorites, the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites; as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee: | Car tu ne manqueras point de les détruire à la façon de l'interdit, savoir les Héthiens, les Amorrhéens, les Cananéens, les Phérésiens, les Héviens, les Jébusiens, comme l'Eternel ton Dieu te l'a commandé. | ma li voterai a completo sterminio, e cioè: gli Hittei, gli Amorei, i Cananei, i Perezei, gli Hivvei e i Gebusei, come l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti ha comandato, |
| 18 | That they teach you not to do after all their abominations, which they have done unto their gods; so should ye sin against the LORD your God. | Afin qu'ils ne vous apprennent point à faire selon toutes les abominations qu'ils ont faites à leurs dieux, et que vous ne péchiez point contre l'Eternel votre Dieu. | Affinché essi non vi insegnino a imitare tutte le abominazioni che fanno per i loro dèi, e voi non pecchiate contro l'Eterno, il vostro DIO. |
| 19 | When thou shalt besiege a city a long time, in making war against it to take it, thou shalt not destroy the trees thereof by forcing an axe against them: for thou mayest eat of them, and thou shalt not cut them down (for the tree of the field is man's life) to employ them in the siege: | Quand tu tiendras une ville assiégée durant plusieurs jours, en la battant pour la prendre, tu ne détruiras point ses arbres à coups de cognée, parce que tu en pourras manger; c'est pourquoi tu ne les couperas point; car l'arbre des champs est-il un homme, pour entrer dans la forteresse. | Quando stringerai d'assedio una città per lungo tempo, combattendo contro di essa per espugnarla, non ne distruggerai gli alberi a colpi di scure; ne mangerai il frutto, ma non li abbatterai; poiché l'albero della campagna è forse un uomo che tu l'abbia ad usare nell'assedio? |
| 20 | Only the trees which thou knowest that they be not trees for meat, thou shalt destroy and cut them down; and thou shalt build bulwarks against the city that maketh war with thee, until it be subdued. | Mais seulement tu détruiras et tu couperas les arbres que tu connaîtras n'être point des arbres fruitiers; et tu en bâtiras des forts contre la ville qui te fait la guerre, jusqu'à ce qu'elle soit subjuguée. | Ma potrai distruggere e abbattere gli alberi che sai non essere alberi da frutto, per costruire opere d'assedio contro la città che ti fa guerra, finché non sia caduta. |
