| 4 | Et commande au peuple, en disant: Vous allez passer la frontière de vos frères, les enfants d'Esaü qui demeurent en Séhir, et ils auront peur de vous, mais soyez bien sur vos gardes. | And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of your brethren the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore; | E ordina al popolo dicendo: Voi state per passare i confini dei figli di Esaù, vostri fratelli, che dimorano in Seir, essi avranno paura di voi; state quindi bene in guardia; |

| 7 | Car l'Eternel ton Dieu t'a béni dans tout le travail de tes mains; il a connu le chemin que tu as tenu dans ce grand désert, et l'Eternel ton Dieu a été avec toi pendant ces quarante ans, et rien ne t'a manqué. | For Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand; he hath known thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years Jehovah thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. | Poiché l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti ha benedetto in tutta l'opera delle tue mani; ha vegliato sul tuo viaggio attraverso questo grande deserto. L'Eterno, il tuo DIO, è stato con te durante questi quarant'anni e non ti è mancato nulla". |
| 8 | Or nous nous détournâmes de nos frères les enfants d'Esaü, qui demeuraient en Séhir, depuis le chemin de la campagne, depuis Elath, et depuis Hetsjonguéber; et de là nous nous détournâmes et nous passâmes par le chemin du désert de Moab. | So we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion-geber. And we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. | Così passammo oltre i figli di Esaù, nostri fratelli, che abitavano in Seir e, evitando la via dell'Arabah, come pure Elath ed Etsion-Gheber, ripiegammo e proseguimmo passando per il deserto di Moab. |
| 9 | Et l'Eternel me dit: Ne traitez point les Moabites en ennemis, et n'entrez point en guerre avec eux; car je ne te donnerai rien de leur pays en héritage; parce que j'ai donné Har en héritage aux enfants de Lot. | And Jehovah said unto me, Vex not Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give thee of his land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession. | L'Eterno quindi mi disse: "Non attaccare Moab e non gli muovere guerra, perché non ti darò alcuna parte del loro paese in eredità, poiché ho dato Ar ai discendenti di Lot, come loro proprietà. |

| 12 | Les Horiens demeuraient aussi auparavant en Séhir, mais les enfants d'Esaü les en dépossédèrent, et les détruisirent de devant eux, et ils y habitèrent en leur place, ainsi qu'a fait Israël dans le pays de son héritage que l'Eternel lui a donné. | The Horites also dwelt in Seir aforetime, but the children of Esau succeeded them; and they destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which Jehovah gave unto them.) | Seir era prima abitata dagli Horei; ma i discendenti di Esaù li cacciarono, li distrussero e si stabilirono al loro posto, come ha fatto Israele nel paese che possiede e che l'Eterno gli ha dato). |

| 14 | Or le temps que nous avons marché depuis Kadès-barné, jusqu'à ce que nous avons eu passé le torrent de Zéred, a été de trente et huit ans, jusqu'à ce que toute cette génération-là, savoir les gens de guerre, a été consumée du milieu du camp, comme l'Eternel le leur avait juré. | And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah sware unto them. | Ora il tempo impiegalo per giungere da Kadesh-Barnea fino al passaggio del torrente Zered, di trent'otto anni, finché tutta la generazione degli uomini di guerra scomparve interamente dall'accampamento, come l'Eterno aveva loro giurato. |
| 15 | Aussi la main de l'Eternel a été contr'eux pour les détruire du milieu du camp, jusqu'à ce qu'il les ait consumés. | Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed. | Infatti la mano dell'Eterno fu contro di loro per sterminarli dall'accampamento, finché fossero annientati. |

| 19 | Tu approcheras vis à vis des enfants de Hammon; tu ne les traiteras point en ennemis, et tu n'auras point de démêlé avec eux; car je ne te donnerai rien du pays des enfants de Hammon en héritage, parce que je l'ai donné en héritage aux enfants de Lot. | and when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, vex them not, nor contend with them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession. | ma avvicinandoti ai figli di Ammon, non li attaccare e non muovere loro guerra, perché io non ti darò alcuna parte del paese dei figli di Ammon in eredità, poiché l'ho dato ai figli di Lot, come loro proprietà". |

| 21 | Qui étaient un peuple grand et nombreux, et de haute stature comme les Hanakins, mais l'Eternel les fit détruire de devant eux, et ils les dépossédèrent, et y habitèrent en leur place. | a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; but Jehovah destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead; | un popolo grande, numeroso e alto di statura come gli Anakim; ma l'Eterno li distrusse davanti agli Ammoniti, che li scacciarono e si stabilirono al loro posto, |
| 22 | Comme il avait fait aux enfants d'Esaü qui demeuraient en Séhir, quand il fit détruire les Horiens de devant eux; et ainsi ils les dépossédèrent, et y habitèrent en leur place jusqu'à ce jour. | as he did for the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: | come l'Eterno aveva fatto per i discendenti di Esaù che abitavano in Seir, quando distrusse gli Horei davanti a loro. Essi li scacciarono e si stabilirono al loro posto fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 23 | Or quant aux Hauviens, qui demeuraient en Hatsérim, jusqu'à Gaza, ils furent détruits par les Caphtorins, qui étant sortis de Caphtor, vinrent demeurer en leur place. | and the Avvim, that dwelt in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, that came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.) | Anche gli Avvei, che dimoravano in villaggi fino a Gaza, furono distrutti dai Kaftorei, venuti da Kaftor, i quali si stabilirono al loro posto). |
| 24 | L'Eternel dit aussi: Levez-vous, et partez, et passez le torrent d'Arnon; Regarde, j'ai livré entre tes mains Sihon, Roi de Hesbon Amorrhéen, avec son pays, commence d'en prendre possession, et fais-lui la guerre. | Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon: behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. | "Levatevi, mettetevi in cammino e attraversate il torrente Arnon; ecco, io do in tuo potere Sihon, l'Amoreo, re di Heshbon, e il suo paese; comincia a prendere possesso e muovigli guerra. |
| 25 | Je commencerai aujourd'hui à jeter la frayeur et la peur de toi sur les peuples qui sont sous tous les cieux, car ayant ouï parler de toi ils trembleront, et seront en angoisse à cause de ta présence. | This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the peoples that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee. | Oggi comincerò a infondere paura e terrore di te ai popoli sotto tutti i cieli, i quali sentiranno parlare di te, e tremeranno e saranno presi da angoscia a causa di te". |
| 26 | Alors j'envoyai du désert de Kédémoth des messagers à Sihon, Roi de Hesbon, avec des paroles de paix, disant: | And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, | Allora mandai ambasciatori dal deserto di Kedemoth a Sihon, re di Heshbon, con parole di pace, per dirgli: |
| 27 | Que je passe par ton pays et j'irai par le grand chemin, sans me détourner ni à droite ni à gauche. | Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the highway, I will turn neither unto the right hand nor to the left. | "Lasciami passare per il tuo paese; io camminerò per la via Regia, senza deviare né a destra né a sinistra. |
| 28 | Tu me feras distribuer des vivres pour de l'argent, afin que je mange; tu me donneras de l'eau pour de l'argent, afin que je boive; seulement que j'y passe de mes pieds. | Thou shalt sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only let me pass through on my feet, | Tu mi venderai per denaro le vettovaglie che mangerò e mi darai per denaro l'acqua che berrò; permettimi solo di passare a piedi |
| 29 | Ainsi que m'ont fait les enfants d'Esaü qui demeurent en Séhir, les Moabites qui demeurent à Har, jusqu'à ce que je passe le Jourdain pour entrer au pays que l'Eternel notre Dieu, nous donne. | as the children of Esau that dwell in Seir, and the Moabites that dwell in Ar, did unto me; until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God giveth us. | (come hanno fatto per me i discendenti di Esaù che abitano in Seir e i Moabiti che abitano in Ar), finché io abbia passato il Giordano per entrare nel paese che l'Eterno, il nostro Dio, ci dà". |
| 30 | Mais Sihon, Roi de Hesbon, ne voulut point nous laisser passer par son pays, car l'Eternel ton Dieu avait endurci son esprit, et roidi son coeur, afin de le livrer entre tes mains, comme il paraît aujourd'hui. | But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovah thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as at this day. | Ma Sihon, re di Heshbon, non ci volle lasciar passare nel suo territorio, perché l'Eterno, il tuo Dio, gli aveva indurito lo spirito e reso ostinato il cuore, per darlo nelle tue mani, come è appunto oggi. |
| 31 | Et l'Eternel me dit: Regarde, j'ai commencé de te livrer Sihon avec son pays; commence à posséder son pays, pour le tenir en héritage. | And Jehovah said unto me, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. | E l'Eterno mi disse: "Vedi, ho cominciato a dare in tuo potere Sihon e il suo paese; incomincia ad occuparlo, perché tu possa entrare in possesso del suo paese". |
| 32 | Sihon donc sortit contre nous, lui et tout son peuple pour combattre en Jahats. | Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, unto battle at Jahaz. | Allora Sihon uscì contro di noi con tutta la sua gente, per darci battaglia a Jahats. |
| 33 | Mais l'Eternel notre Dieu nous le livra, et nous le battîmes, lui, ses enfants, et tout son peuple. | And Jehovah our God delivered him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. | Ma l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ce lo diede nelle mani, e noi sconfiggemmo lui, i suoi figli e tutta la sua gente. |
| 34 | Et en ce temps-là nous prîmes toutes ses villes; et nous détruisîmes à la façon de l'interdit toutes les villes où étaient les hommes, les femmes, et les petits enfants, et nous n'y laissâmes personne de reste. | And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones; we left none remaining: | In quel tempo prendemmo tutte le sue città e votammo allo sterminio uomini, donne e bambini di ogni città; non lasciammo anima viva. |
| 35 | Seulement nous pillâmes les bêtes pour nous, et le butin des villes que nous avions prises. | only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, with the spoil of the cities which we had taken. | Soltanto prendemmo come nostro bottino il bestiame e le spoglie delle città che avevamo preso. |
| 36 | Depuis Haroher, qui est sur le bord du torrent d'Arnon, et la ville qui est dans le torrent, jusqu'en Galaad, il n'y eut pas une ville qui pût se garantir de nous; l'Eternel notre Dieu nous les livra toutes. | From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and [from] the city that is in the valley, even unto Gilead, there was not a city too high for us; Jehovah our God delivered up all before us: | Da Aroer, che è sulle sponde del torrente Arnon e alla città che è nella valle, fino a Galaad, non ci fu alcuna città che fosse troppo forte per noi; l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, le diede tutte nelle nostre mani. |
| 37 | Seulement tu ne t'es point approché du pays des enfants de Hammon, ni d'aucun endroit qui touche le torrent de Jabbok, ni des villes de la montagne, ni d'aucun lieu que l'Eternel notre Dieu nous eût défendu de conquérir. | only to the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not near; all the side of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill-country, and wheresoever Jehovah our God forbade us. | Ma non ti avvicinasti al paese dei figli di Ammon, ad alcun posto toccato dal torrente Jabbok, alle città del paese montuoso e a tutti i luoghi che l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ci aveva proibito di attaccare. |
