| 3 | Vous avez assez fait le tour de cette montagne; tournez-vous vers le Nord; | Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. | "Avete girato abbastanza intorno a questo monte; volgetevi verso nord. |
| 4 | Et commande au peuple, et dis-lui: Vous allez passer sur la frontière de vos frères, les enfants d'Ésaü, qui demeurent en Séir, et ils auront peur de vous. Mais soyez bien sur vos gardes; | And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the border of your brethren the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir; and they will be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore; | E ordina al popolo dicendo: Voi state per passare i confini dei figli di Esaù, vostri fratelli, che dimorano in Seir, essi avranno paura di voi; state quindi bene in guardia; |
| 5 | N'ayez point de démêlé avec eux; car je ne vous donnerai pas même de leur pays pour y poser la plante du pied; car j'ai donné à Ésaü la montagne de Séir en héritage. | contend not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as for the sole of the foot to tread on; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. | non provocateli, perché non vi darò niente del loro paese, neppure quanto ne può calcare la pianta di un piede, poiché ho dato il monte di Seir a Esaù, come sua proprietà. |
| 6 | Vous achèterez d'eux les vivres pour de l'argent, et vous mangerez; vous achèterez d'eux aussi l'eau pour de l'argent, et vous boirez. | Ye shall purchase food of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. | Comprerete da loro con denaro le vettovaglie che mangerete e comprerete pure da loro con denaro l'acqua che berrete. |
| 7 | Car l'Éternel ton Dieu t'a béni dans toutes les oeuvres de tes mains; il a connu ta marche par ce grand désert; l'Éternel ton Dieu a été avec toi pendant ces quarante ans; tu n'as manqué de rien. | For Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hand; he hath known thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years Jehovah thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. | Poiché l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti ha benedetto in tutta l'opera delle tue mani; ha vegliato sul tuo viaggio attraverso questo grande deserto. L'Eterno, il tuo DIO, è stato con te durante questi quarant'anni e non ti è mancato nulla". |
| 8 | Nous nous sommes détourné donc de nos frères, les enfants d'Ésaü, qui demeuraient à Séir, et du chemin de la campagne, d'Élath et d'Etsjonguéber; puis nous avons tourné, et nous avons passé dans la direction du désert de Moab. | So we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir, from the way of the Arabah from Elath and from Ezion-geber. And we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. | Così passammo oltre i figli di Esaù, nostri fratelli, che abitavano in Seir e, evitando la via dell'Arabah, come pure Elath ed Etsion-Gheber, ripiegammo e proseguimmo passando per il deserto di Moab. |
| 9 | Alors l'Éternel me dit: N'attaque point les Moabites, et n'entre point en guerre avec eux; car je ne te donnerai rien de leur pays en héritage, parce que j'ai donné Ar en héritage aux enfants de Lot. | And Jehovah said unto me, Vex not Moab, neither contend with them in battle; for I will not give thee of his land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession. | L'Eterno quindi mi disse: "Non attaccare Moab e non gli muovere guerra, perché non ti darò alcuna parte del loro paese in eredità, poiché ho dato Ar ai discendenti di Lot, come loro proprietà. |

| 12 | Les Horiens demeuraient aussi auparavant à Séir; mais les descendants d'Ésaü les dépossédèrent et les détruisirent de devant eux; et ils habitèrent à leur place, comme l'a fait Israël au pays de son héritage que l'Éternel lui a donné.) | The Horites also dwelt in Seir aforetime, but the children of Esau succeeded them; and they destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which Jehovah gave unto them.) | Seir era prima abitata dagli Horei; ma i discendenti di Esaù li cacciarono, li distrussero e si stabilirono al loro posto, come ha fatto Israele nel paese che possiede e che l'Eterno gli ha dato). |
| 13 | Maintenant levez-vous et passez le torrent de Zéred. Et nous avons passé le torrent de Zéred. | Now rise up, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered. | Ora levatevi e attraversate il torrente Zered". Così noi attraversammo il torrente Zered. |
| 14 | Or, le temps que nous avons marché, depuis Kadès-Barnéa jusqu'au passage du torrent de Zéred, a été de trente-huit ans, jusqu'à ce que toute la génération des gens de guerre ait été consumée du milieu du camp, comme l'Éternel le leur avait juré. | And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, were thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were consumed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah sware unto them. | Ora il tempo impiegalo per giungere da Kadesh-Barnea fino al passaggio del torrente Zered, di trent'otto anni, finché tutta la generazione degli uomini di guerra scomparve interamente dall'accampamento, come l'Eterno aveva loro giurato. |
| 15 | Et même la main de l'Éternel a été sur eux pour les détruire du milieu du camp, jusqu'à ce qu'ils aient été consumés. | Moreover the hand of Jehovah was against them, to destroy them from the midst of the camp, until they were consumed. | Infatti la mano dell'Eterno fu contro di loro per sterminarli dall'accampamento, finché fossero annientati. |

| 18 | Tu vas aujourd'hui passer Ar, la frontière de Moab; | Thou art this day to pass over Ar, the border of Moab: | "Oggi tu stai per passare i confini di Moab, ad Ar, |
| 19 | Et tu t'approcheras vis-à-vis des enfants d'Ammon; ne les attaque point, et n'aie point de démêlé avec eux; car je ne te donnerai rien du pays des enfants d'Ammon en héritage, parce que je l'ai donné en héritage aux descendants de Lot. | and when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, vex them not, nor contend with them; for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon for a possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession. | ma avvicinandoti ai figli di Ammon, non li attaccare e non muovere loro guerra, perché io non ti darò alcuna parte del paese dei figli di Ammon in eredità, poiché l'ho dato ai figli di Lot, come loro proprietà". |

| 21 | C'était un peuple grand, nombreux, et de haute taille, comme les Anakim; mais l'Éternel les détruisit devant eux, et ils les dépossédèrent, et habitèrent à leur place. | a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakim; but Jehovah destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead; | un popolo grande, numeroso e alto di statura come gli Anakim; ma l'Eterno li distrusse davanti agli Ammoniti, che li scacciarono e si stabilirono al loro posto, |
| 22 | C'est ainsi qu'il avait fait pour les descendants d'Ésaü, qui demeuraient à Séir, quand il détruisit les Horiens devant eux; et ils les dépossédèrent, et habitèrent à leur place, jusqu'à ce jour. | as he did for the children of Esau, that dwell in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: | come l'Eterno aveva fatto per i discendenti di Esaù che abitavano in Seir, quando distrusse gli Horei davanti a loro. Essi li scacciarono e si stabilirono al loro posto fino al giorno d'oggi. |
| 23 | Quant aux Avviens, qui demeuraient dans des villages jusqu'à Gaza, les Caphthorim, sortis de Caphtor, les détruisirent et habitèrent à leur place.) | and the Avvim, that dwelt in villages as far as Gaza, the Caphtorim, that came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.) | Anche gli Avvei, che dimoravano in villaggi fino a Gaza, furono distrutti dai Kaftorei, venuti da Kaftor, i quali si stabilirono al loro posto). |
| 24 | Levez-vous, partez, et passez le torrent de l'Arnon. Vois, j'ai livré entre tes mains Sihon, roi de Hesbon, l'Amoréen, avec son pays; commence à en prendre possession, et entre en guerre avec lui. | Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon: behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land; begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. | "Levatevi, mettetevi in cammino e attraversate il torrente Arnon; ecco, io do in tuo potere Sihon, l'Amoreo, re di Heshbon, e il suo paese; comincia a prendere possesso e muovigli guerra. |
| 25 | Aujourd'hui je commencerai à répandre la crainte et la terreur de ton nom sur les peuples qui sont sous tous les cieux; en sorte qu'entendant parler de toi, ils trembleront, et seront effrayés à cause de toi. | This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the peoples that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear the report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee. | Oggi comincerò a infondere paura e terrore di te ai popoli sotto tutti i cieli, i quali sentiranno parlare di te, e tremeranno e saranno presi da angoscia a causa di te". |
| 26 | Alors j'envoyai, du désert de Kedémoth, des messagers à Sihon, roi de Hesbon, avec des paroles de paix, pour lui dire: | And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, | Allora mandai ambasciatori dal deserto di Kedemoth a Sihon, re di Heshbon, con parole di pace, per dirgli: |
| 27 | Permets que je passe par ton pays; je marcherai toujours par le grand chemin, sans me détourner ni à droite ni à gauche; | Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the highway, I will turn neither unto the right hand nor to the left. | "Lasciami passare per il tuo paese; io camminerò per la via Regia, senza deviare né a destra né a sinistra. |
| 28 | Tu me vendras des vivres, pour de l'argent, afin que je mange; et tu me donneras de l'eau, pour de l'argent, afin que je boive; que j'y passe seulement de mes pieds, | Thou shalt sell me food for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only let me pass through on my feet, | Tu mi venderai per denaro le vettovaglie che mangerò e mi darai per denaro l'acqua che berrò; permettimi solo di passare a piedi |
| 29 | Comme me l'ont permis les enfants d'Ésaü, qui demeurent à Séir, et les Moabites, qui demeurent à Ar, jusqu'à ce que je passe le Jourdain, pour entrer au pays que l'Éternel notre Dieu nous donne. | as the children of Esau that dwell in Seir, and the Moabites that dwell in Ar, did unto me; until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land which Jehovah our God giveth us. | (come hanno fatto per me i discendenti di Esaù che abitano in Seir e i Moabiti che abitano in Ar), finché io abbia passato il Giordano per entrare nel paese che l'Eterno, il nostro Dio, ci dà". |
| 30 | Mais Sihon, roi de Hesbon, ne voulut point nous laisser passer chez lui; car l'Éternel ton Dieu avait endurci son esprit et raidi son cœur, afin de le livrer entre tes mains, comme tu le vois aujourd'hui. | But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him; for Jehovah thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as at this day. | Ma Sihon, re di Heshbon, non ci volle lasciar passare nel suo territorio, perché l'Eterno, il tuo Dio, gli aveva indurito lo spirito e reso ostinato il cuore, per darlo nelle tue mani, come è appunto oggi. |
| 31 | Et l'Éternel me dit: Vois, j'ai commencé de te livrer Sihon et son pays; commence à t'emparer de son pays, pour le posséder. | And Jehovah said unto me, Behold, I have begun to deliver up Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. | E l'Eterno mi disse: "Vedi, ho cominciato a dare in tuo potere Sihon e il suo paese; incomincia ad occuparlo, perché tu possa entrare in possesso del suo paese". |
| 32 | Sihon sortit donc à notre rencontre, lui et tout son peuple, pour combattre à Jahats. | Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, unto battle at Jahaz. | Allora Sihon uscì contro di noi con tutta la sua gente, per darci battaglia a Jahats. |
| 33 | Mais l'Éternel notre Dieu nous le livra, et nous l'avons battu, lui, ses fils, et tout son peuple. | And Jehovah our God delivered him up before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people. | Ma l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ce lo diede nelle mani, e noi sconfiggemmo lui, i suoi figli e tutta la sua gente. |
| 34 | Dans ce même temps, nous avons prit toutes ses villes, et nous avons voué à l'interdit toutes les villes, les hommes, les femmes et les petits enfants; nous n'avons laissé personne de reste. | And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed every inhabited city, with the women and the little ones; we left none remaining: | In quel tempo prendemmo tutte le sue città e votammo allo sterminio uomini, donne e bambini di ogni città; non lasciammo anima viva. |
| 35 | Nous avons pillé seulement pour nous le bétail et le butin des villes que nous avions prises. | only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, with the spoil of the cities which we had taken. | Soltanto prendemmo come nostro bottino il bestiame e le spoglie delle città che avevamo preso. |
| 36 | Depuis Aroër, qui est sur le bord du torrent de l'Arnon, et la ville qui est dans la vallée, jusqu'à Galaad, il n'y eut pas une cité qui fût trop haute pour nous; l'Éternel notre Dieu nous les livra toutes; | From Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, and [from] the city that is in the valley, even unto Gilead, there was not a city too high for us; Jehovah our God delivered up all before us: | Da Aroer, che è sulle sponde del torrente Arnon e alla città che è nella valle, fino a Galaad, non ci fu alcuna città che fosse troppo forte per noi; l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, le diede tutte nelle nostre mani. |
| 37 | Seulement tu ne t'es point approché du pays des enfants d'Ammon, de toute la rive du torrent de Jabbok, des villes de la montagne, et de tout ce que l'Éternel notre Dieu nous avait défendu d'occuper. | only to the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not near; all the side of the river Jabbok, and the cities of the hill-country, and wheresoever Jehovah our God forbade us. | Ma non ti avvicinasti al paese dei figli di Ammon, ad alcun posto toccato dal torrente Jabbok, alle città del paese montuoso e a tutti i luoghi che l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ci aveva proibito di attaccare. |
