| 1 | Les Sacrificateurs qui sont de la race de Lévi, même toute la Tribu de Lévi, n'auront point de part ni d'héritage avec le reste d'Israël, mais ils mangeront les sacrifices de l'Eternel faits par feu, et son héritage. | The priests the Levites, [even] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, and his inheritance. |
| 2 | Ils n'auront donc point d'héritage entre leurs frères. L'Eternel est leur héritage, comme il leur en a parlé. | And they shall have no inheritance among their brethren: Jehovah is their inheritance, as he hath spoken unto them. |
| 3 | Or c'est ici le droit que les Sacrificateurs prendront du peuple, c'est-à-dire de ceux qui offriront quelque sacrifice, soit boeuf, ou brebis, ou chèvre, c'est qu'on donnera au Sacrificateur l'épaule, les mâchoires, et le ventre. | And this shall be the priests` due from the people, from them that offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give unto the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw. |
| 4 | Tu leur donneras les prémices de ton froment, de ton vin et de ton huile, et les prémices de la toison de tes brebis. | The first-fruits of thy grain, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the first of the fleece of thy sheep, shalt thou give him. |
| 5 | Car l'Eternel ton Dieu l'a choisi d'entre toutes les Tribus, afin qu'il assiste pour faire le service au nom de l'Eternel, lui et ses fils, à toujours. | For Jehovah thy God hath chosen him out of all thy tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Jehovah, him and his sons for ever. |
| 6 | Or quand le Lévite viendra de quelque lieu de ta demeure, de quelque endroit que ce soit d'Israël où il fasse son séjour, et qu'il viendra selon tout le désir de son âme, au lieu que l'Eternel aura choisi, | And if a Levite come from any of thy gates out of all Israel, where he sojourneth, and come with all the desire of his soul unto the place which Jehovah shall choose; |
| 7 | Il fera le service au nom de l'Eternel son Dieu, comme tous ses frères Lévites, qui assistent en la présence de l'Eternel. | then he shall minister in the name of Jehovah his God, as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before Jehovah. |
| 8 | Ils mangeront une égale portion avec les autres, outre ce que chacun pourra avoir de ce qu'il aura vendu aux familles de ses pères. | They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which cometh of the sale of his patrimony. |
| 9 | Quand tu seras entré au pays que l'Eternel ton Dieu te donne, tu n'apprendras point à faire selon les abominations de ces nations-là. | When thou art come into the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations. |
| 10 | Il ne se trouvera personne au milieu de toi qui fasse passer par le feu son fils ou sa fille, ni de devin qui se mêle de deviner, ni de pronostiqueur de temps, ni aucun qui use d'augures, ni aucun sorcier; | There shall not be found with thee any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one that useth divination, one that practiseth augury, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, |
| 11 | Ni d'enchanteur qui use d'enchantements, ni d'homme qui consulte l'esprit de python, ni de diseur de bonne aventure, ni aucun qui interroge les morts. | or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer. |
| 12 | Car quiconque fait ces choses est en abomination à l'Eternel; et à cause de ces abominations l'Eternel ton Dieu chasse ces nations-là de devant toi. | For whosoever doeth these things is an abomination unto Jehovah: and because of these abominations Jehovah thy God doth drive them out from before thee. |
| 13 | Tu agiras en intégrité avec l'Eternel ton Dieu. | Thou shalt be perfect with Jehovah thy God. |
| 14 | Car ces nations-là dont tu vas posséder le pays, écoutent les pronostiqueurs, et les devins; mais quant à toi, l'Eternel ton Dieu ne t'a point permis d'agir de la sorte. | For these nations, that thou shalt dispossess, hearken unto them that practise augury, and unto diviners; but as for thee, Jehovah thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. |
| 15 | L'Eternel ton Dieu te suscitera un Prophète comme moi d'entre tes frères; vous l'écouterez. | Jehovah thy God will raise up unto thee a prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken; |
| 16 | Selon tout ce que tu as demandé à l'Eternel ton Dieu en Horeb, au jour de l'assemblée, en disant: Que je n'entende plus la voix de l'Eternel mon Dieu; et que je ne voie plus ce grand feu, de peur que je ne meure. | according to all that thou desiredst of Jehovah thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of Jehovah my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. |
| 17 | Alors l'Eternel me dit: Ils ont bien dit ce qu'ils ont dit. | And Jehovah said unto me, They have well said that which they have spoken. |
| 18 | Je leur susciterai un Prophète comme toi d'entre leurs frères, et je mettrai mes paroles en sa bouche, et il leur dira tout ce que je lui aurai commandé. | I will raise them up a prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. |
| 19 | Et il arrivera que quiconque n'écoutera pas mes paroles, lesquelles il aura dites en mon Nom, je lui en demanderai compte. | And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. |
| 20 | Mais le Prophète qui aura agi si fièrement que de dire quelque chose en mon Nom, que je ne lui aurai point commandé de dire, ou qui aura parlé au nom des autres dieux, ce Prophète-là mourra. | But the prophet, that shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die. |
| 21 | Que si tu dis en ton coeur: Comment connaîtrons-nous la parole que l'Eternel n'aura point dite? | And if thou say in thy heart, How shall we know the word which Jehovah hath not spoken? |
| 22 | Quand ce Prophète-là aura parlé au Nom de l'Eternel, et que la chose qu'il aura prédite ne sera point, ni n'arrivera point, cette parole sera celle que l'Eternel ne lui a point dite; mais le Prophète l'a dite par fierté; ainsi n'aie point peur de lui. | when a prophet speaketh in the name of Jehovah, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which Jehovah hath not spoken: the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously, thou shalt not be afraid of him. |
