| 2 | Vous détruirez entièrement tous les lieux où les nations que vous allez chasser servaient leurs dieux, sur les hautes montagnes, sur les collines et sous tout arbre vert. | Ye shall surely destroy all the places wherein the nations that ye shall dispossess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree: |
| 3 | Vous renverserez leurs autels, vous briserez leurs stèles, vous livrerez au feu leurs aschérim, vous mettrez en pièces les images taillées de leurs dieux, et vous ferez disparaître de ces lieux jusqu'à leurs noms. | and ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and burn their Asherim with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods; and ye shall destroy their name out of that place. |

| 5 | Mais vous le chercherez au lieu que Yahweh, votre Dieu, choisira parmi toutes vos tribus pour y mettre son nom et en faire sa demeure, et c'est là que tu iras. | But unto the place which Jehovah your God shall choose out of all your tribes, to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come; |
| 6 | C'est là que vous présenterez vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices, vos dîmes et ce que votre main aura prélevé, vos voeux et vos offrandes volontaires, et les premiers-nés de vos boeufs et de vos brebis. | and thither ye shall bring your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill-offerings, and the firstlings of your herd and of your flock: |
| 7 | C'est là que vous ferez des repas sacrés devant Yahweh, votre Dieu, et que vous vous réjouirez, vous et vos familles, en jouissant de tous les biens que votre main aura acquis et par lesquels Yahweh, ton Dieu, t'aura béni. | and there ye shall eat before Jehovah your God, and ye shall rejoice in all that ye put your hand unto, ye and your households, wherein Jehovah thy God hath blessed thee. |
| 8 | Vous ne ferez pas, selon tout ce que nous faisons maintenant ici, chacun ce que bon lui semble, | Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes; |
| 9 | parce que vous n'êtes pas encore arrivés au repos et à l'héritage que te donne Yahweh, ton Dieu. | for ye are not as yet come to the rest and to the inheritance, which Jehovah thy God giveth thee. |
| 10 | Mais vous passerez le Jourdain et vous habiterez le pays que Yahweh, votre Dieu, vous donnera en héritage, et il vous donnera du repos en vous protégeant contre tous les ennemis qui vous entourent, et vous habiterez en sécurité. | But when ye go over the Jordan, and dwell in the land which Jehovah your God causeth you to inherit, and he giveth you rest from all your enemies round about, so that ye dwell in safety; |
| 11 | Alors dans le lieu que Yahweh, votre Dieu, choisira pour y faire habiter son nom, c'est là que vous présenterez tout ce que je vous commande, vos holocaustes et vos sacrifices, vos dîmes et ce que votre main aura prélevé, et toutes les offrandes de choix pour l'accomplissement de vos voeux que vous ferez à Yahweh. | then it shall come to pass that to the place which Jehovah your God shall choose, to cause his name to dwell there, thither shall ye bring all that I command you: your burnt-offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave-offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto Jehovah. |
| 12 | Et vous vous réjouirez en présence de Yahweh, votre Dieu, vous, vos fils et vos filles, vos serviteurs et vos servantes, et le Lévite qui sera dans vos portes, car il n'a reçu ni part ni héritage avec vous. | And ye shall rejoice before Jehovah your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your men-servants, and your maid-servants, and the Levite that is within your gates, forasmuch as he hath no portion nor inheritance with you. |
| 13 | Garde-toi d'offrir tes holocaustes dans tous les lieux que tu verras; | Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt-offerings in every place that thou seest; |
| 14 | mais tu offriras tes holocaustes au lieu que Yahweh aura choisi dans l'une de tes tribus, et c'est là que tu feras tout ce que je te commande. | but in the place which Jehovah shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee. |
| 15 | Tu pourras néanmoins, tant que tu le désireras, tuer du bétail et manger de la viande dans toutes tes portes, selon les bénédictions que t'accordera Yahweh, ton Dieu; l'homme impur et l'homme pur pourront en manger, comme on mange de la gazelle et du cerf. | Notwithstanding, thou mayest kill and eat flesh within all thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul, according to the blessing of Jehovah thy God which he hath given thee: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof, as of the gazelle, and as of the hart. |
| 16 | Mais vous ne mangerez pas le sang : tu le répandras sur la terre, comme de l'eau. | Only ye shall not eat the blood; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. |
| 17 | Tu ne pourras pas manger dans tes portes la dîme de ton blé, de ton vin nouveau et de ton huile, ni les premiers-nés de tes boeufs et de tes brebis, ni toutes les offrandes que tu auras vouées, ni tes offrandes volontaires, ni ce que ta main aura prélevé. | Thou mayest not eat within thy gates the tithe of thy grain, or of thy new wine, or of thine oil, or the firstlings of thy herd or of thy flock, nor any of thy vows which thou vowest, nor thy freewill-offerings, nor the heave-offering of thy hand; |
| 18 | C'est devant Yahweh, ton Dieu, dans le lieu que Yahweh, ton Dieu, aura choisi, que tu les mangeras, toi, ton fils et ta fille, ton serviteur et ta servante, et le Lévite qui sera dans tes portes; tu te réjouiras devant Yahweh, ton Dieu, en jouissant de tous les biens que ta main aura acquis. | but thou shalt eat them before Jehovah thy God in the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, thou, and thy son, and thy daughter, and thy man-servant, and thy maid-servant, and the Levite that is within thy gates: and thou shalt rejoice before Jehovah thy God in all that thou puttest thy hand unto. |
| 19 | Garde-toi de délaisser le Lévite, aussi longtemps que tu vivras sur ton sol. | Take heed to thyself that thou forsake not the Levite as long as thou livest in thy land. |
| 20 | Lorsque Yahweh, ton Dieu, aura élargi tes frontières, comme il te l'a promis, et que tu diras : Je veux manger de la viande, ton âme éprouvant le désir de manger de la viande, tu pourras manger de la viande toutes les fois que tu le désireras. | When Jehovah thy God shall enlarge thy border, as he hath promised thee, and thou shalt say, I will eat flesh, because thy soul desireth to eat flesh; thou mayest eat flesh, after all the desire of thy soul. |
| 21 | Si le lieu que Yahweh, ton Dieu, choisira pour y mettre son nom est éloigné de toi, tu pourras tuer de tes boeufs et de tes brebis que Yahweh t'a donnés, selon que je te l'ai prescrit, et tu en mangeras dans tes portes, toutes les fois que tu le désireras. | If the place which Jehovah thy God shall choose, to put his name there, be too far from thee, then thou shalt kill of thy herd and of thy flock, which Jehovah hath given thee, as I have commanded thee; and thou mayest eat within thy gates, after all the desire of thy soul. |
| 22 | Tu en mangeras comme on mange de la gazelle ou du cerf : l'homme pur ou l'homme impur en mangeront l'un et l'autre. | Even as the gazelle and as the hart is eaten, so thou shalt eat thereof: the unclean and the clean may eat thereof alike. |
| 23 | Seulement tiens ferme à ne pas manger le sang, car le sang, c'est l'âme, et tu ne mangeras pas l'âme avec la chair. | Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood is the life; and thou shalt not eat the life with the flesh. |
| 24 | Tu ne le mangeras pas; tu le répandras sur la terre comme de l'eau. | Thou shalt not eat it; thou shalt pour it out upon the earth as water. |
| 25 | Tu ne le mangeras pas, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, en faisant ce qui est droit aux yeux de Yahweh. | Thou shalt not eat it; that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah. |
| 26 | Mais les saintes offrandes qui te sont demandées et celles que tu as vouées, tu les prendras et tu iras au lieu que Yahweh aura choisi, | Only thy holy things which thou hast, and thy vows, thou shalt take, and go unto the place which Jehovah shall choose: |
| 27 | et tu offriras tes holocaustes, la chair et le sang, sur l'autel de Yahweh, ton Dieu, et tu mangeras la chair. | and thou shalt offer thy burnt-offerings, the flesh and the blood, upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and the blood of thy sacrifices shall be poured out upon the altar of Jehovah thy God; and thou shalt eat the flesh. |
| 28 | Observe et écoute toutes ces choses que je t'ordonne, afin que tu sois heureux, toi et tes enfants après toi, à perpétuité, en faisant ce qui est bien et droit aux yeux de Yahweh. | Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God. |
| 29 | Lorsque Yahweh, ton Dieu, aura exterminé les nations là où tu vas pour les chasser de devant de toi, que tu les auras chassées et que tu habiteras dans leur pays, | When Jehovah thy God shall cut off the nations from before thee, whither thou goest in to dispossess them, and thou dispossessest them, and dwellest in their land; |
| 30 | prends garde que tu ne sois pris au piège en les imitant, après qu'elles auront été détruites devant toi. Garde-toi de rechercher leurs dieux, en disant : «Comment ces nations servaient-elles leurs dieux ? Je veux faire de même, moi aussi.» | take heed to thyself that thou be not ensnared to follow them, after that they are destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How do these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. |
| 31 | Tu n'agiras pas ainsi à l'égard de Yahweh, ton Dieu; car elles faisaient pour leurs dieux toutes les abominations que déteste Yahweh, et même elles livrent au feu leurs fils et leurs filles en l'honneur de leurs dieux. | Thou shalt not do so unto Jehovah thy God: for every abomination to Jehovah, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods; for even their sons and their daughters do they burn in the fire to their gods. |
| 32 | Toutes les choses que je vous prescris, vous les observerez en les mettant en pratique, sans y rien ajouter et sans en rien retrancher. | What thing soever I command you, that shall ye observe to do: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it. |
