2	Il y a onze journées depuis Horeb, par le chemin de la montagne de Séir, jusqu'à Kadès Barnéa.	(There are eleven days' journey from Horeb by the way of mount Seir unto Kadeshbarnea.) 3	Dans la quarantième année, au onzième mois, le premier du mois, Moïse parla aux enfants d'Israël selon tout ce que l'Éternel lui avait ordonné de leur dire. 4	C'était après qu'il eut battu Sihon, roi des Amoréens, qui habitait à Hesbon, et Og, roi de Basan, qui habitait à Aschtaroth et à Édréi. 6	L'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous a parlé à Horeb, en disant : Vous avez assez demeuré dans cette montagne. 7	Tournez-vous, et partez ; allez à la montagne des Amoréens et dans tout le voisinage, dans la plaine, sur la montagne, dans la vallée, dans le midi, sur la côte de la mer, au pays des Cananéens et au Liban, jusqu'au grand fleuve, au fleuve d'Euphrate. 8	Voyez, j'ai mis le pays devant vous ; allez, et prenez possession du pays que l'Éternel a juré à vos pères, Abraham, Isaac et Jacob, de donner à eux et à leur postérité après eux.	Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the LORD sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them. 9	Dans ce temps-là, je vous dis : Je ne puis pas, à moi seul, vous porter.	And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:	And I spake unto you at that time, saying, I am not able to bear you myself alone:	In quel tempo io vi parlai e vi dissi: "Io non posso da solo portare il peso di tutti voi.
10	L'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a multipliés, et vous êtes aujourd'hui aussi nombreux que les étoiles du ciel.	The LORD your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.	Jehovah your God hath multiplied you, and, behold, ye are this day as the stars of heaven for multitude.	L'Eterno, il vostro DIO, vi ha moltiplicati, ed eccovi oggi numerosi come le stelle del cielo.
11	Que l'Éternel, le Dieu de vos pères, vous augmente mille fois autant, et qu'il vous bénisse comme il vous l'a promis !	(The LORD God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many more as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!)	Jehovah, the God of your fathers, make you a thousand times as many as ye are, and bless you, as he hath promised you!	L'Eterno, il DIO dei vostri padri, vi renda mille volte ancor più numerosi, e vi benedica come vi ha promesso!
12	Comment porterais-je, à moi seul, votre charge, votre fardeau et vos contestations ?	How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?	How can I myself alone bear your cumbrance, and your burden, and your strife?	Ma come posso io, da solo, portare il vostro carico, il vostro peso e le vostre liti?
13	Prenez dans vos tribus des hommes sages, intelligents et connus, et je les mettrai à votre tête.	Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rulers over you.	Take you wise men, and understanding, and known, according to your tribes, and I will make them heads over you.	Scegliete dalle vostre tribù degli uomini saggi e dotati di discernimento e di esperienza, e io li costituirò vostri capi".
14	Vous me répondîtes, en disant : Ce que tu proposes de faire est une bonne chose.	And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good for us to do.	And ye answered me, and said, The thing which thou hast spoken is good [for us] to do.	E voi mi rispondeste, dicendo: "La cosa che tu proponi di fare è buona".
15	Je pris alors les chefs de vos tribus, des hommes sages et connus, et je les mis à votre tête comme chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante, et chefs de dix, et comme ayant autorité dans vos tribus.	So I took the chief of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains over thousands, and captains over hundreds, and captains over fifties, and captains over tens, and officers among your tribes.	So I took the heads of your tribes, wise men, and known, and made them heads over you, captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and captains of fifties, and captains of tens, and officers, according to your tribes.	Allora presi i capi delle vostre tribù, uomini saggi e dotati di esperienza e li costituii vostri capi, capi di migliaia, capi di centinaia, capi di cinquantine, capi di decine, e ufficiali delle vostre tribù.
16	Je donnai, dans le même temps, cet ordre à vos juges : Écoutez vos frères, et jugez selon la justice les différends de chacun avec son frère ou avec l'étranger.	And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear the causes between your brethren, and judge righteously between every man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.	And I charged your judges at that time, saying, Hear [the causes] between your brethren, and judge righteously between a man and his brother, and the sojourner that is with him.	In quel tempo diedi quest'ordine ai vostri giudici dicendo: "Ascoltate le dispute tra i vostri fratelli e giudicate con giustizia tra un uomo e suo fratello o il forestiero che sta con lui.
17	Vous n'aurez point égard à l'apparence des personnes dans vos jugements ; vous écouterez le petit comme le grand ; vous ne craindrez aucun homme, car c'est Dieu qui rend la justice. Et lorsque vous trouverez une cause trop difficile, vous la porterez devant moi, pour que je l'entende.	Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.	Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; ye shall hear the small and the great alike; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God`s: and the cause that is too hard for you ye shall bring unto me, and I will hear it.	Nei vostri giudizi non avrete riguardi personali; darete ascolto al piccolo e al grande; non temerete alcun uomo, perché il giudizio appartiene a DIO; il caso che è troppo difficile per voi lo recherete a me, e io lo ascolterò".
18	C'est ainsi que je vous prescrivis, dans ce temps-là, tout ce que vous aviez à faire.	And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.	And I commanded you at that time all the things which ye should do.	In quel tempo io vi ordinai tutte le cose che dovevate fare.
19	Nous partîmes d'Horeb, et nous parcourûmes en entier ce grand et affreux désert que vous avez vu ; nous prîmes le chemin de la montagne des Amoréens, comme l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous l'avait ordonné, et nous arrivâmes à Kadès Barnéa.	And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the LORD our God commanded us; and we came to Kadeshbarnea.	And we journeyed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wilderness which ye saw, by the way to the hill-country of the Amorites, as Jehovah our God commanded us; and we came to Kadesh-barnea.	Poi partimmo dal monte Horeb e attraversammo tutto quel grande e spaventoso deserto che avete veduto dirigendoci verso la regione montuosa degli Amorei, come l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ci aveva comandato, e giungemmo a Kadesh-Barnea.
20	Je vous dis : Vous êtes arrivés à la montagne des Amoréens, que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous donne.	And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the mountain of the Amorites, which the LORD our God doth give unto us.	And I said unto you, Ye are come unto the hill-country of the Amorites, which Jehovah our God giveth unto us.	Allora vi dissi: "Siete arrivati alla regione montuosa degli Amorei, che l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, ci dà.
21	Vois, l'Éternel, ton Dieu, met le pays devant toi ; monte, prends-en possession, comme te l'a dit l'Éternel, le Dieu de tes pères ; ne crains point, et ne t'effraie point.	Behold, the LORD thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.	Behold, Jehovah thy God hath set the land before thee: go up, take possession, as Jehovah, the God of thy fathers, hath spoken unto thee; fear not, neither be dismayed.	Ecco, l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ha posto il paese davanti a te; sali e prendine possesso, come l'Eterno, il DIO dei tuoi padri, ti ha detto; non avere paura e non scoraggiarti".
22	Vous vous approchâtes tous de moi, et vous dîtes : Envoyons des hommes devant nous, pour explorer le pays, et pour nous faire un rapport sur le chemin par lequel nous y monterons et sur les villes où nous arriverons.	And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, We will send men before us, and they shall search us out the land, and bring us word again by what way we must go up, and into what cities we shall come.	And ye came near unto me every one of you, and said, Let us send men before us, that they may search the land for us, and bring us word again of the way by which we must go up, and the cities unto which we shall come.	Allora voi, tutti quanti voi, vi avvicinaste a me e diceste: "Mandiamo degli uomini davanti a noi, che esplorino il paese per noi e ci riferiscano sulla strada per la quale noi dovremo salire, e sulle città nelle quali dovremo entrare".
23	Cet avis me parut bon ; et je pris douze hommes parmi vous, un homme par tribu.	And the saying pleased me well: and I took twelve men of you, one of a tribe:	And the thing pleased me well; and I took twelve men of you, one man for every tribe:	La proposta mi piacque; così presi dodici uomini tra voi, uno per tribù.
24	Ils partirent, traversèrent la montagne, et arrivèrent jusqu'à la vallée d'Eschcol, qu'ils explorèrent.	And they turned and went up into the mountain, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and searched it out.	and they turned and went up into the hill-country, and came unto the valley of Eshcol, and spied it out.	Ed essi partirono, salirono verso i monti, giunsero alla valle di Eshkol ed esplorarono il paese.
25	Ils prirent dans leurs mains des fruits du pays, et nous les présentèrent ; ils nous firent un rapport, et dirent : C'est un bon pays, que l'Éternel, notre Dieu, nous donne.	And they took of the fruit of the land in their hands, and brought it down unto us, and brought us word again, and said, It is a good land which the LORD our God doth give us. Presero con sé alcuni frutti del paese, ce li portarono e ci fecero la loro relazione, dicendo: "Il paese che l'Eterno, il nostro DIO, sta per darci è buono".
26	Mais vous ne voulûtes point y monter, et vous fûtes rebelles à l'ordre de l'Éternel, votre Dieu.	Notwithstanding ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of the LORD your God:	Yet ye would not go up, but rebelled against the commandment of Jehovah your God:	Ma voi non voleste salirvi e vi ribellaste all'ordine dell'Eterno, del vostro DIO;
27	Vous murmurâtes dans vos tentes, et vous dîtes : C'est parce que l'Éternel nous hait, qu'il nous a fait sortir du pays d'Égypte, afin de nous livrer entre les mains des Amoréens et de nous détruire.	And ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because the LORD hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.	and ye murmured in your tents, and said, Because Jehovah hated us, he hath brought us forth out of the land of Egypt, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us.	e mormoraste nelle vostre tende e diceste: "L'Eterno ci odia, per questo ci ha fatto uscire dal paese d'Egitto per darci in mano agli Amorei e per distruggerci.
28	Où monterions-nous ? Nos frères nous ont fait perdre courage, en disant : C'est un peuple plus grand et de plus haute taille que nous ; ce sont des villes grandes et fortifiées jusqu'au ciel ; nous y avons même vu des enfants d'Anak.	Whither shall we go up? our brethren have discouraged our heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and walled up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakims there.	Whither are we going up? our brethren have made our heart to melt, saying, The people are greater and taller than we; the cities are great and fortified up to heaven; and moreover we have seen the sons of the Anakim there.	Dove possiamo andare? I nostri fratelli ci hanno fatto struggere il cuore dicendo: E' un popolo più grande e più alto di noi; le città sono grandi e fortificate fino al cielo; vi abbiamo perfino visto i figli degli Anakim".
29	Je vous dis : Ne vous épouvantez pas, et n'ayez pas peur d'eux.	Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.	Then I said unto you, Dread not, neither be afraid of them.	Allora io vi dissi: "Non spaventatevi e non abbiate paura di loro.
30	L'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui marche devant vous, combattra lui-même pour vous, selon tout ce qu'il a fait pour vous sous vos yeux en Égypte,	The LORD your God which goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes;	Jehovah your God who goeth before you, he will fight for you, according to all that he did for you in Egypt before your eyes,	L'Eterno, il vostro DIO, che va davanti a voi, combatterà egli stesso per voi, come ha fatto sotto i vostri occhi in Egitto.
31	puis au désert, où tu as vu que l'Éternel, ton Dieu, t'a porté comme un homme porte son fils, pendant toute la route que vous avez faite jusqu'à votre arrivée en ce lieu.	And in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that the LORD thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came into this place.	and in the wilderness, where thou hast seen how that Jehovah thy God bare thee, as a man doth bear his son, in all the way that ye went, until ye came unto this place.	e nel deserto, dove hai visto come l'Eterno, il tuo DIO, ti ha portato come un uomo porta il proprio figlio, per tutto il cammino che avete percorso, finché siete arrivati a questo luogo".
32	Malgré cela, vous n'eûtes point confiance en l'Éternel, votre Dieu,	Yet in this thing ye did not believe the LORD your God,	Yet in this thing ye did not believe Jehovah your God,	Nonostante questo, non aveste fiducia nell'Eterno vostro DIO,
33	qui allait devant vous sur la route pour vous chercher un lieu de campement, la nuit dans un feu afin de vous montrer le chemin où vous deviez marcher, et le jour dans une nuée.	Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to shew you by what way ye should go, and in a cloud by day.	who went before you in the way, to seek you out a place to pitch your tents in, in fire by night, to show you by what way ye should go, and in the cloud by day.	che andava davanti a voi nel cammino per cercarvi un luogo dove piantare le tende, con il fuoco di notte e con la nuvola di giorno, per mostrarvi per quale via dovevate andare.
34	L'Éternel entendit le bruit de vos paroles. Il s'irrita, et jura, en disant :	And the LORD heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,	And Jehovah heard the voice of your words, and was wroth, and sware, saying,	Così l'Eterno udì le vostre parole, si adirò e giurò dicendo:
35	Aucun des hommes de cette génération méchante ne verra le bon pays que j'ai juré de donner à vos pères,	Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see that good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers.	Surely there shall not one of these men of this evil generation see the good land, which I sware to give unto your fathers,	"Certo, nessuno degli uomini di questa malvagia generazione vedrà il buon paese che ho giurato di dare ai vostri padri,
36	excepté Caleb, fils de Jephunné ; il le verra, lui, et je donnerai à lui et à ses enfants le pays sur lequel il a marché, parce qu'il a pleinement suivi la voie de l'Éternel.	Save Caleb the son of Jephunneh; he shall see it, and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed the LORD.	save Caleb the son of Jephunneh: he shall see it; and to him will I give the land that he hath trodden upon, and to his children, because he hath wholly followed Jehovah.	ad eccezione di Caleb, figlio di Jefunneh. 37	L'Éternel s'irrita aussi contre moi, à cause de vous, et il dit : Toi non plus, tu n'y entreras point.	Also the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither.	Also Jehovah was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not go in thither:	Anche contro a me l'Eterno si adirò per colpa vostra e disse: "Neppure tu vi entrerai;
38	Josué, fils de Nun, ton serviteur, y entrera ; fortifie-le, car c'est lui qui mettra Israël en possession de ce pays.	But Joshua the son of Nun, which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: encourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherit it. 39	Et vos petits enfants, dont vous avez dit : Ils deviendront une proie ! et vos fils, qui ne connaissent aujourd'hui ni le bien ni le mal, ce sont eux qui y entreront, c'est à eux que je le donnerai, et ce sont eux qui le posséderont.	Moreover your little ones, which ye said should be a prey, and your children, which in that day had no knowledge between good and evil, they shall go in thither, and unto them will I give it, and they shall possess it.
