| 4 | Et quand il se sera levé, son royaume sera brisé et sera divisé vers les quatre vents des cieux, et ne passera pas à sa postérité, et ne sera pas selon la domination qu'il exerçait; car son royaume sera arraché, et sera à d'autres, outre ceux-là. | And when he shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four winds of heaven, but not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion wherewith he ruled; for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others besides these. | Ma quando sarà sorto, il suo regno sarà fatto a pezzi e sarà diviso verso i quattro venti del cielo, ma non fra i suoi discendenti né con la stessa forza con cui egli regnava, perché il suo regno sarà sradicato e passerà ad altri, oltre che a costoro. |

| 6 | Et au bout de plusieurs années, ils s'uniront ensemble; et la fille du roi du midi viendra vers le roi du nord pour faire un arrangement droit; mais elle ne conservera pas la force de son bras; et il ne subsistera pas, ni son bras; et elle sera livrée, elle, et ceux qui l'ont amenée, et celui qui l'a engendrée, et celui qui lui aidait dans ces temps-là. | And at the end of years they shall join themselves together; and the daughter of the king of the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she shall not retain the strength of her arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm; but she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he that strengthened her in those times. | Dopo alcuni anni si alleeranno; quindi la figlia del re del sud verrà dal re del nord per fare un accordo, ma non conserverà più la forza della sua potenza, e non potrà durare né lui né la sua potenza in quei tempi essa sarà consegnata alla morte assieme a quelli che l'hanno condotta, colui che l'ha generata e colui che l'ha sostenuta. |

| 10 | Mais ses fils s'irriteront et rassembleront une multitude de forces nombreuses; et l'un d'eux viendra et inondera et passera outre; et il reviendra et poussera le combat jusqu'à sa forteresse. | And his sons shall war, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces, which shall come on, and overflow, and pass through; and they shall return and war, even to his fortress. | I suoi figli si prepareranno quindi alla guerra e raduneranno una moltitudine di grandi forze, e uno di essi si farà certamente avanti, strariperà come un'inondazione e passerà oltre, per portare poi le ostilità fino alla sua fortezza. |
| 11 | Et le roi du midi s'exaspérera, et sortira, et fera la guerre contre lui, contre le roi du nord; et celui-ci mettra sur pied une grande multitude, mais la multitude sera livrée en sa main. | And the king of the south shall be moved with anger, and shall come forth and fight with him, even with the king of the north; and he shall set forth a great multitude, and the multitude shall be given into his hand. | Allora il re del sud, infuriato, uscirà a combattere con lui, con il re del nord, il quale arruolerà una grande moltitudine, ma la moltitudine sarà data in mano del suo nemico. |
| 12 | Et quand la multitude sera ôtée, son coeur s'exaltera, et il fera tomber des myriades; mais il ne prévaudra pas. | And the multitude shall be lifted up, and his heart shall be exalted; and he shall cast down tens of thousands, but he shall not prevail. | Quando la moltitudine sarà portata via, il suo cuore si innalzerà, ne abbatterà delle miriadi, ma non sarà più forte. |
| 13 | Et le roi du nord reviendra et mettra sur pied une multitude plus grande que la première; et au bout d'une période d'années, il s'avancera avec une armée nombreuse et de grandes richesses. | And the king of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the former; and he shall come on at the end of the times, [even of] years, with a great army and with much substance. | Il re del nord infatti arruolerà di nuovo una moltitudine più numerosa della precedente, e dopo un po' di tempo si farà certamente avanti con un grosso esercito e con un grande equipaggiamento. |
| 14 | Et, dans ces temps-là, plusieurs se lèveront contre le roi du midi, et les violents de ton peuple s'élèveront pour accomplir la vision; mais ils tomberont. | And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the children of the violent among thy people shall lift themselves up to establish the vision; but they shall fall. | In quel tempo molti insorgeranno contro il re del sud, anche alcuni uomini violenti del tuo popolo si leveranno per dar compimento alla visione, ma cadranno. |
| 15 | Et le roi du nord viendra, et il élèvera une terrasse, et s'emparera de la ville forte; et les forces du midi ne tiendront pas, ni l'élite de son peuple; et il n'y aura pas de force en lui pour se maintenir. | So the king of the north shall come, and cast up a mound, and take a well-fortified city: and the forces of the south shall not stand, neither his chosen people, neither shall there be any strength to stand. | Allora il re del nord verrà, innalzerà un terrapieno e si impadronirà di una città fortificata. Le forze del sud non potranno resistergli; neppure le truppe scelte avranno la forza di resistere. |
| 16 | Mais celui qui vient contre lui agira selon son gré, et il n'y aura personne qui lui résiste; et il se tiendra dans le pays de beauté, ayant la destruction dans sa main; | But he that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall stand before him; and he shall stand in the glorious land, and in his hand shall be destruction. | Colui che gli è venuto contro farà ciò che vorrà, e nessuno gli potrà resistere; egli si fermerà nel paese glorioso con la distruzione in suo potere. |
| 17 | et il dirigera sa face pour venir avec les forces de tout son royaume, et des hommes droits avec lui, et il agira; et il lui donnera la fille des femmes pour la pervertir; mais elle ne tiendra pas, et elle ne sera pas pour lui. | And he shall set his face to come with the strength of his whole kingdom, and with him equitable conditions; and he shall perform them: and he shall give him the daughter of women, to corrupt her; but she shall not stand, neither be for him. | Poi si proporrà di venire con le forze di tutto il suo regno, offrendo oneste condizioni di pace e così farà. Gli darà la figlia in moglie per corromperlo, ma ella non starà dalla sua parte e non parteggerà per lui. |

Mais un chef mettra fin, pour lui, à son opprobre, et le fera retomber sur lui-même, sans opprobre pour lui; | After this shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; yea, moreover, he shall cause his reproach to turn upon him. | Poi si volgerà verso le isole e ne prenderà molte, ma un comandante farà cessare il vituperio da lui inflittogli, facendolo ricadere su di lui. |
| 19 | et il tournera sa face vers les forteresses de son propre pays; et il bronchera et tombera, et ne sera pas trouvé. | Then he shall turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land; but he shall stumble and fall, and shall not be found. | Quindi si volgerà verso le fortezze del proprio paese, ma inciamperà, cadrà e non si troverà più. |
| 20 | Puis il s'en élèvera un à sa place qui fera passer l'exacteur par la gloire du royaume; mais en quelques jours il sera brisé, non par colère, ni par guerre. | Then shall stand up in his place one that shall cause an exactor to pass through the glory of the kingdom; but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. | Al suo posto sorgerà uno che manderà un esattore di tributi per la gloria del regno; in pochi giorni però sarà distrutto, ma non nell'ira o in battaglia. |
| 21 | Et un homme méprisé s'élèvera à sa place, auquel on ne donnera pas l'honneur du royaume; mais il entrera paisiblement, et prendra possession du royaume par des flatteries; | And in his place shall stand up a contemptible person, to whom they had not given the honor of the kingdom: but he shall come in time of security, and shall obtain the kingdom by flatteries. | Al suo posto sorgerà un uomo spregevole, a cui non sarà conferita la dignità reale; verrà pacificamente, ma si impadronirà del regno con intrighi. |
| 22 | et les forces qui débordent seront débordées devant lui et seront brisées, et même le prince de l'alliance. | And the overwhelming forces shall be overwhelmed from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. | Davanti a lui le straripanti forze saranno spazzate via e distrutte come pure il capo di un'alleanza. |
| 23 | Et dès qu'il sera associé à lui, il agira avec fraude, et il montera, et sera fort avec peu de gens. | And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully; for he shall come up, and shall become strong, with a small people. | In seguito a un'alleanza fatta con lui, egli agirà con frode e giungerà al potere con poca gente. |
| 24 | En pleine paix il entrera dans les lieux les plus riches de la province, et il fera ce que ses pères et les pères de ses pères n'ont pas fait; il leur distribuera du butin, et des dépouilles, et des richesses, et il tramera ses desseins contre les places fortes, et cela pour un temps. | In time of security shall he come even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers` fathers; he shall scatter among them prey, and spoil, and substance: yea, he shall devise his devices against the strongholds, even for a time. | Egli entrerà pacificamente anche nelle parti più ricche della provincia e farà ciò che non avevano mai fatto né i suoi padri né i padri dei suoi padri, distribuirà tra di loro bottino, spoglie e beni e concepirà piani contro le fortezze, ma solo per un tempo. |

Mais il ne tiendra pas, car ils trameront leurs desseins contre lui; | And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall war in battle with an exceeding great and mighty army; but he shall not stand; for they shall devise devices against him. | Con un grande esercito spronerà le sue forze e il suo cuore contro il re del sud. Il re del sud si impegnerà in guerra con un grande e potentissimo esercito, ma non potrà resistere, perché si ordiranno complotti contro di lui. |
| 26 | et ceux qui mangeaient ses mets délicats le briseront; et son armée se dissoudra, et beaucoup de gens tomberont tués. | Yea, they that eat of his dainties shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow; and many shall fall down slain. | Quegli stessi che mangeranno dei suoi cibi squisiti lo distruggeranno, il suo esercito sarà spazzato via, ma molti cadranno uccisi. |
| 27 | Et ces deux rois auront à coeur de faire du mal, et diront des mensonges à une même table; mais cela ne réussira pas, car la fin sera encore pour le temps déterminé. | And as for both these kings, their hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table: but it shall not prosper; for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. | Il cuore di questi due re sarà rivolto a fare del male, essi proferiranno menzogne seduti alla stessa mensa, ma la cosa non riuscirà, perché la fine verrà malgrado tutto al tempo fissato. |
| 28 | Et il retournera dans son pays avec de grandes richesses, et son coeur sera contre la sainte alliance, et il agira, et retournera dans son pays. | Then shall he return into his land with great substance; and his heart [shall be] against the holy covenant; and he shall do [his pleasure], and return to his own land. | Nel ritornare al suo paese con grandi ricchezze, il suo cuore si metterà contro il santo patto; così eseguirà i suoi disegni e poi ritornerà nel suo paese. |
| 29 | Au temps déterminé il retournera et viendra dans le midi; mais il n'en sera pas la dernière fois comme la première; | At the time appointed he shall return, and come into the south; but it shall not be in the latter time as it was in the former. | Al tempo stabilito egli andrà di nuovo contro il sud, ma quest'ultima volta la cosa non riuscirà come la prima, |
| 30 | car les navires de Kittim viendront contre lui; et il sera découragé, et retournera et sera courroucé contre la sainte alliance, et il agira; et il retournera et portera son attention sur ceux qui abandonnent la sainte alliance. | For ships of Kittim shall come against him; therefore he shall be grieved, and shall return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and shall do [his pleasure]: he shall even return, and have regard unto them that forsake the holy covenant. | perché delle navi di Kittim, verranno contro di lui; perciò egli si perderà d'animo, si adirerà nuovamente contro il santo patto ed eseguirà i suoi disegni; così tornerà a mostrare riguardo con coloro che hanno abbandonato il santo patto. |
| 31 | Et des forces se tiendront là de sa part, et elles profaneront le sanctuaire de la forteresse, et ôteront le sacrifice continuel, et elles placeront l'abomination qui cause la désolation. | And forces shall stand on his part, and they shall profane the sanctuary, even the fortress, and shall take away the continual [burnt-offering], and they shall set up the abomination that maketh desolate. | Forze da lui mandate si leveranno per profanare il santuario-fortezza, sopprimeranno il sacrificio continuo e vi collocheranno l'abominazione che causa la desolazione. |
| 32 | Et, par de douces paroles, il entraînera à l'impiété ceux qui agissent méchamment à l'égard de l'alliance; mais le peuple qui connaît son Dieu sera fort et agira. | And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he pervert by flatteries; but the people that know their God shall be strong, and do [exploits]. | Con lusinghe corromperà coloro che agiscono empiamente contro il patto ma il popolo di quelli che conoscono il loro DIO mostrerà fermezza e agirà. |
| 33 | Et les sages du peuple enseigneront la multitude; et ils tomberont par l'épée et par la flamme, par la captivité et par le pillage, plusieurs jours. | And they that are wise among the people shall instruct many; yet they shall fall by the sword and by flame, by captivity and by spoil, [many] days. | Quelli che hanno sapienza fra il popolo ne istruiranno molti, ma per un po' di tempo cadranno per la spada, il fuoco, l'esilio e il saccheggio. |
| 34 | Et quand ils tomberont, ils seront secourus avec un peu de secours, et plusieurs se joindront à eux par des flatteries. | Now when they shall fall, they shall be helped with a little help; but many shall join themselves unto them with flatteries. | Quando cadranno, sarà loro dato un po' di aiuto, ma molti si uniranno a loro con false apparenze. |
| 35 | Et d'entre les sages il en tombera pour les éprouver ainsi, et pour les purifier, et pour les blanchir, jusqu'au temps de la fin; car ce sera encore pour le temps déterminé. | And some of them that are wise shall fall, to refine them, and to purify, and to make them white, even to the time of the end; because it is yet for the time appointed. | Alcuni di quelli che hanno sapienza cadranno, per essere affinati, purificati e imbiancati fino al tempo della fine, perché questo avverrà al tempo stabilito. |
| 36 | Et le roi agira selon son bon plaisir, et s'exaltera, et s'élèvera contre tout Dieu, et proférera des choses impies contre le Dieu des Dieux; et il prospérera jusqu'à ce que l'indignation soit accomplie; car ce qui est déterminé sera fait. | And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods; and he shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished; for that which is determined shall be done. | Quindi il re agirà come vuole, si innalzerà, si magnificherà al di sopra di ogni dio e proferirà cose sorprendenti contro il Dio degli dèi; prospererà finché l'indignazione sia completata, perché ciò che è decretato si compirà. |
| 37 | Et il n'aura point égard au Dieu de ses pères, et il n'aura point égard à l'objet du désir des femmes, ni à aucun dieu; car il s'agrandira au-dessus de tout; | Neither shall he regard the gods of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god; for he shall magnify himself above all. | Egli non avrà riguardo al DIO dei suoi padri né al desiderio delle donne; non avrà riguardo ad alcun dio, perché si magnificherà al di sopra di tutti. |
| 38 | et, à sa place, il honorera le dieu des forteresses: avec de l'or, et avec de l'argent, et avec des pierres précieuses, et avec des choses désirables, il honorera un dieu que n'ont pas connu ses pères; | But in his place shall he honor the god of fortresses; and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things. | Ma al loro posto egli onorerà il dio delle fortezze e onorerà con oro, argento, pietre preziose e cose piacevoli, un dio che i suoi padri non conobbero. |
| 39 | et il agira dans les lieux forts des forteresses, avec un dieu étranger: à qui le reconnaîtra il multipliera la gloire; et il les fera dominer sur la multitude et leur partagera le pays en récompense. | And he shall deal with the strongest fortresses by the help of a foreign god: whosoever acknowledgeth [him] he will increase with glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for a price. | Egli agirà contro le fortezze più fortificate con l'aiuto di un dio straniero; ricolmerà di gloria quelli che egli riconoscerà, li farà dominare su molti e darà loro terre in ricompensa. |
| 40 | Et, au temps de la fin, le roi du midi heurtera contre lui, et le roi du nord fondra sur lui comme une tempête, avec des chars et des cavaliers, et avec beaucoup de navires, et entrera dans les pays et inondera et passera outre; | And at the time of the end shall the king of the south contend with him; and the king of the north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass through. | Al tempo della fine il re del sud si scontrerà con lui, il re del nord verrà contro di lui come un turbine con carri e cavalieri e con molte navi; penetrerà nei paesi, li inonderà e passerà oltre. |
| 41 | et il viendra dans le pays de beauté, et plusieurs pays tomberont; mais ceux-ci échapperont de sa main: Édom, et Moab, et les principaux des fils d'Ammon. | He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many [countries] shall be overthrown; but these shall be delivered out of his hand: Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon. | Entrerà pure nel paese glorioso e molti saranno abbattuti, ma queste scamperanno dalle sue mani: Edom, Moab e gran parte dei figli di Ammon. |
| 42 | Et il étendra sa main sur les pays, et le pays d'Égypte n'échappera pas. | He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries; and the land of Egypt shall not escape. | Egli stenderà la mano anche su diversi paesi e il paese d'Egitto non scamperà. |
| 43 | Et il aura sous sa puissance les trésors d'or et d'argent, et toutes les choses désirables de l'Égypte; et les Libyens et les Éthiopiens suivront ses pas. | But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt; and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps. | S'impadronirà dei tesori d'oro e d'argento e di tutte le cose preziose dell'Egitto; i Libici e gli Etiopi saranno al suo seguito. |
| 44 | Mais des nouvelles de l'orient et du nord l'effrayeront, et il sortira en grande fureur pour exterminer et détruire entièrement beaucoup de gens. | But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him; and he shall go forth with great fury to destroy and utterly to sweep away many. | Ma notizie dall'est e dal nord lo turberanno; perciò partirà con gran furore, per distruggere e votare allo sterminio molti |
| 45 | Et il plantera les tentes de son palais entre la mer et la montagne de sainte beauté; et il viendra à sa fin, et il n'y aura personne pour le secourir. | And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him. | E pianterà le tende del suo palazzo fra i mari e il glorioso monte santo, poi giungerà alla sua fine e nessuno gli verrà in aiuto. |
