| 1 | Puis il me montra un fleuve pur d'eau vive, transparent comme du cristal, qui sortait du trône de Dieu et de l'Agneau. | And he showed me a river of water of life, bright as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb, |
| 2 | Et au milieu de la place de la Cité, et des deux côtés du fleuve était l'arbre de vie, portant douze fruits, et rendant son fruit chaque mois; et les feuilles de l'arbre sont pour la santé des Gentils. | in the midst of the street thereof. And on this side of the river and on that was the tree of life, bearing twelve [manner of] fruits, yielding its fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. |
| 3 | Et toute chose maudite ne sera plus, mais le trône de Dieu et de l'Agneau sera en elle, et ses serviteurs le serviront; | And there shall be no curse any more: and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be therein: and his servants shall serve him; |
| 4 | Et ils verront sa face, et son Nom sera sur leurs fronts. | and they shall see his face; and his name [shall be] on their foreheads. |
| 5 | Et il n'y aura plus là de nuit; et il ne sera plus besoin de la lumière de la lampe ni du soleil: car le Seigneur Dieu les éclaire, et ils régneront aux siècles des siècles. | And there shall be night no more; and they need no light of lamp, neither light of sun; for the Lord God shall give them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever. |
| 6 | Puis il me dit: ces paroles sont certaines et véritables, et le Seigneur le Dieu des saints Prophètes a envoyé son Ange, pour manifester à ses serviteurs les choses qui doivent arriver bientôt. | And he said unto me, These words are faithful and true: and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, sent his angels to show unto his servants the things which must shortly come to pass. |
| 7 | Voici, je viens bientôt; bienheureux est celui qui garde les paroles de la prophétie de ce Livre. | And behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he that keepeth the words of the prophecy of this book. |
| 8 | Et moi Jean, je suis celui qui ai ouï et vu ces choses; et après les avoir ouïes et vues, je me jetai à terre pour me prosterner aux pieds de l'Ange qui me montrait ces choses. | And I John am he that heard and saw these things. And when I heard and saw, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel that showed me these things. |
| 9 | Mais il me dit: garde-toi de le faire; car je suis ton Compagnon de service, et le Compagnon de tes frères les Prophètes, et de ceux qui gardent les paroles de ce Livre; adore Dieu. | And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren the prophets, and with them that keep the words of this book: worship God. |
| 10 | Il me dit aussi: ne cachette point les paroles de la prophétie de ce Livre, parce que le temps est proche. | And he saith unto me, Seal not up the words of the prophecy of this book; for the time is at hand. |
| 11 | Que celui qui est injuste, soit injuste encore; et que celui qui est souillé se souille encore; et que celui qui est juste, soit plus juste encore; et que celui qui est saint, soit sanctifié encore. | He that is unrighteous, let him do unrighteousness still: and he that is filthy, let him be made filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him do righteousness still: and he that is holy, let him be made holy still. |
| 12 | Or voici, je viens bientôt; et ma récompense est avec moi, pour rendre à chacun selon son oeuvre. | Behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to render to each man according as his work is. |
| 13 | Je suis l'Alpha et l'Oméga, le premier et le dernier, le commencement et la fin. | I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. |
| 14 | Bienheureux sont ceux qui font ses commandements, afin qu'ils aient droit à l'Arbre de vie, et qu'ils entrent par les portes dans la Cité. | Blessed are they that wash their robes, that they may have the right [to come] to the tree of life, and my enter in by the gates into the city. |
| 15 | Mais les Chiens, les empoisonneurs, les fornicateurs, les meurtriers, les idolâtres, et quiconque aime et commet fausseté seront laissés dehors. | Without are the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the fornicators, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one that loveth and maketh a lie. |
| 16 | Moi Jésus, j'ai envoyé mon Ange pour vous confirmer ces choses dans les Eglises. Je suis la racine et la postérité de David; l'étoile brillante du matin. | I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright, the morning star. |
| 17 | Et l'Esprit et l'Epouse disent: viens.; que celui aussi qui l’entend, dise: viens; et que celui qui a soif, vienne; et quiconque veut de l'eau vive, en prenne, sans qu'elle lui coûte rien. | And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And he that heareth, let him say, Come. And he that is athirst, let him come: he that will, let him take the water of life freely. |
| 18 | Or je proteste à quiconque entend les paroles de la prophétie de ce Livre, que si quelqu'un ajoute à ces choses, Dieu fera tomber sur lui les plaies écrites dans ce Livre. | I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto them, God shall add unto him the plagues which are written in this book: |
| 19 | Et si quelqu'un retranche quelque chose des paroles du Livre de cette prophétie, Dieu lui enlèvera la part qu'il a dans le Livre de vie, dans la sainte Cité, et dans les choses qui sont écrites dans ce Livre. | and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, which are written in this book. |
| 20 | Celui qui rend témoignage de ces choses, dit: Certainement je viens bientôt, Amen! Oui, Seigneur Jésus, viens! | He who testifieth these things saith, Yea: I come quickly. Amen: come, Lord Jesus. |
| 21 | Que la grâce de notre Seigneur Jésus-Christ soit avec vous tous, Amen! | The grace of the Lord Jesus be with the saints. Amen. |
