| 1 | And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. | Poi vidi un angelo che scendeva dal cielo e che aveva la chiave dell'Abisso e una gran catena in mano. |
| 2 | And he laid hold on the dragon, the old serpent, which is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, | Egli prese il dragone, il serpente antico, che è il diavolo e Satana, e lo legò per mille anni, |
| 3 | and cast him into the abyss, and shut [it], and sealed [it] over him, that he should deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years should be finished: after this he must be loosed for a little time. | poi lo gettò nell'abisso che chiuse e sigillò sopra di lui, perché non seducesse più le nazioni finché fossero compiuti i mille anni, dopo i quali dovrà essere sciolto per poco tempo. |
| 4 | And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and [I saw] the souls of them that had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as worshipped not the beast, neither his image, and received not the mark upon their forehead and upon their hand; and they lived, and reigned with Christ a thousand years. | Poi vidi dei troni, e a quelli che vi sedettero fu dato la potestà di giudicare, e vidi le anime di coloro che erano stati decapitati per la testimonianza di Gesù e per la parola di Dio, e che non avevano adorato la bestia né la sua immagine e non avevano preso il suo marchio sulla loro fronte e sulla loro mano. Costoro tornarono in vita e regnarono con Cristo per mille anni. |
| 5 | The rest of the dead lived not until the thousand years should be finished. This is the first resurrection. | Ma il resto dei morti non tornò in vita finché furono compiuti i mille anni. Questa è la prima risurrezione. |
| 6 | Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: over these the second death hath no power; but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. | Beato e santo è colui che ha parte alla prima risurrezione. Su di loro non ha potestà la seconda morte, ma essi saranno sacerdoti di Dio e di Cristo e regneranno con lui mille anni. |
| 7 | And when the thousand years are finished, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, | E quando quei mille anni saranno compiuti, Satana sarà sciolto dalla sua prigione |
| 8 | and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. | e uscirà per sedurre le nazioni che sono ai quattro angoli della terra, Gog e Magog, per radunarle per la guerra; il loro numero sarà come la sabbia del mare. |
| 9 | And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them. | Esse si muoveranno su tutta la superficie della terra e circonderanno il campo dei santi e la diletta città. Ma dal cielo scenderà fuoco, mandato da Dio, e le divorerà. |
| 10 | And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. | Allora il diavolo, che le ha sedotte sarà gettato nello stagno di fuoco e di zolfo, dove sono la bestia e il falso profeta; e saranno tormentati giorno e notte, nei secoli dei secoli. |
| 11 | And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. | Poi vidi un gran trono bianco e colui che vi sedeva sopra, dalla cui presenza fuggirono il cielo e la terra, e non fu più trovato posto per loro. |
| 12 | And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne; and books were opened: and another book was opened, which is [the book] of life: and the dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works. | E vidi i morti, grandi e piccoli, che stavano ritti davanti a Dio, e i libri furono aperti; e fu aperto un altro libro, che è il libro della vita; e i morti furono giudicati in base alle cose scritte nei libri secondo le loro opere. |
| 13 | And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. | E il mare restituì i morti che erano in esso, la morte e l'Ades restituirono i morti che erano in loro, ed essi furono giudicati, ciascuno secondo le sue opere. |
| 14 | And death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death, [even] the lake of fire. | Poi la morte e l'Ades furono gettati nello stagno di fuoco. Questa è la morte seconda. |
| 15 | And if any was not found written in the book of life, he was cast into the lake of fire. | E se qualcuno non fu trovato scritto nel libro della vita, fu gettato nello stagno di fuoco. |
