| 1 | Or après ces choses, j'entendis une voix d'une grande multitude au Ciel, disant: Alleluia! le salut, la gloire, l'honneur et la puissance appartiennent au Seigneur notre Dieu. | After these things I heard as it were a great voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, Hallelujah; Salvation, and glory, and power, belong to our God: |
| 2 | Car ses jugements sont véritables et justes, parce qu'il a fait justice de la grande prostituée, qui a corrompu la terre par son impudicité; et qu'il a vengé le sang de ses serviteurs versé de la main de la prostituée. | for true and righteous are his judgments; for he hath judged the great harlot, her that corrupted the earth with her fornication, and he hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. |
| 3 | Et ils dirent encore: Alleluia! et sa fumée monte aux siècles des siècles. | And a second time they say, Hallelujah. And her smoke goeth up for ever and ever. |
| 4 | Et les vingt-quatre Anciens et les quatre animaux se jetèrent sur leurs faces, et adorèrent Dieu, qui était assis sur le trône, en disant: Amen! Alleluia! | And the four and twenty elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God that sitteth on the throne, saying, Amen; Hallelujah. |
| 5 | Et il sortit du trône une voix qui disait: louez notre Dieu, vous tous ses serviteurs, et vous qui le craignez, tant les petits que les grands. | And a voice came forth from the throne, saying, Give praise to our God, all ye his servants, ye that fear him, the small and the great. |
| 6 | J'entendis ensuite comme la voix d'une grande assemblée, et comme le bruit de grandes eaux, et comme l'éclat de grands tonnerres, disant: Alleluia! car le Seigneur notre Dieu tout-puissant a pris possession de son Royaume. | And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunders, saying, Hallelujah: for the Lord our God, the Almighty, reigneth. |
| 7 | Réjouissons-nous, tressaillons de joie, et donnons-lui gloire; car les noces de l'Agneau sont venues, et son épouse s'est parée. | Let us rejoice and be exceeding glad, and let us give the glory unto him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. |
| 8 | Et il lui a été donné d'être vêtue de fin lin pur et éclatant. Or ce fin lin désigne la justice des Saints. | And it was given unto her that she should array herself in fine linen, bright [and] pure: for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. |
| 9 | Alors il me dit: Ecris: Bienheureux sont ceux qui sont appelés au banquet des noces de l'Agneau. Il me dit aussi: ces paroles de Dieu sont véritables. | And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they that are bidden to the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are true words of God. |
| 10 | Alors je me jetai à ses pieds pour l'adorer; mais il me dit: garde-toi de le faire; je suis ton compagnon de service, et le compagnon de tes frères qui ont le témoignage de Jésus, adore Dieu; car le témoignage de Jésus est l'Esprit de prophétie. | And I fell down before his feet to worship him. And he saith unto me, See thou do it not: I am a fellow-servant with thee and with thy brethren that hold the testimony of Jesus: worship God; for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. |
| 11 | Puis je vis le Ciel ouvert, et voici un cheval blanc; et celui qui était monté dessus était appelé FIDÈLE et VERITABLE, qui juge et combat justement. | And I saw the heaven opened; and behold, a white horse, and he that sat thereon called Faithful and True; and in righteous he doth judge and make war. |
| 12 | Et ses yeux étaient comme une flamme de feu; il y avait sur sa tête plusieurs diadèmes, et il portait un nom écrit que nul n'a connu, que lui seul. | And his eyes [are] a flame of fire, and upon his head [are] many diadems; and he hath a name written which no one knoweth but he himself. |
| 13 | Il était vêtu d'une robe teinte dans le sang, et son nom s'appelle LA PAROLE DE DIEU. | And he [is] arrayed in a garment sprinkled with blood: and his name is called The Word of God. |
| 14 | Et les armées qui sont au Ciel le suivaient sur des chevaux blancs, vêtues de fin lin blanc, et pur. | And the armies which are in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white [and] pure. |
| 15 | Et il sortait de sa bouche une épée tranchante, pour en frapper les nations; car il les gouvernera avec une verge de fer, et il foulera la cuve du vin de l'indignation et de la colère du Dieu tout-puissant. | And out of his mouth proceedeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness of the wrath of God, the Almighty. |
| 16 | Et sur son vêtement et sur sa cuisse étaient écrits ces mots: LE ROI DES ROIS, ET LE SEIGNEUR DES SEIGNEURS. | And he hath on his garment and on his thigh a name written, KINGS OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. |
| 17 | Puis je vis un Ange se tenant dans le soleil, qui cria à haute voix, et dit à tous les oiseaux qui volaient par le milieu du ciel: venez, et assemblez vous au banquet du grand Dieu; | And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in mid heaven, Come [and] be gathered together unto the great supper of God; |
| 18 | Afin que vous mangiez la chair des Rois, la chair des capitaines, la chair des puissants, la chair des chevaux, et de ceux qui sont montés dessus, et la chair de toute sorte de personnes libres, esclaves, petits et grands. | that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses and of them that sit thereon, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, and small and great. |
| 19 | Alors je vis la bête, et les Rois de la terre, et leurs armées assemblées pour faire la guerre contre celui qui était monté sur le cheval, et contre son armée. | And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat upon the horse, and against his army. |
| 20 | Mais la bête fut prise, et avec elle le faux-prophète qui avait fait devant elle les prodiges par lesquels il avait séduit ceux qui avaient la marque de la bête, et qui avaient adoré son image; et ils furent tous deux jetés tout vifs dans l'étang ardent de feu et de soufre; | And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought the signs in his sight, wherewith he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast and them that worshipped his image: they two were cast alive into the lake of fire that burneth with brimstone: |
| 21 | Et le reste fut tué par l'épée qui sortait de la bouche de celui qui était monté sur le cheval, et tous les oiseaux furent rassasiés de leur chair. | and the rest were killed with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, [even the sword] which came forth out of his mouth: and all the birds were filled with their flesh. |
