| 2 | And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; | Et il y avait un homme, boiteux de naissance, qu'on apportait et posait chaque jour près de la porte du temple appelée la Belle, pour demander l'aumône à ceux qui entraient dans le temple. |
| 3 | Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. | Lui, voyant Pierre et Jean qui allaient entrer dans le temple, leur demanda l'aumône. |
| 4 | And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us. | Mais Pierre, le fixant, avec Jean, (lui) dit : "Regarde-nous." |
| 5 | And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. | Et il tenait (les yeux) sur eux, s'attendant à recevoir d'eux quelque chose. |
| 6 | Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. | Mais Pierre (lui) dit : "Je n'ai ni argent ni or; mais ce que j'ai, je te le donne : au nom de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth, marche ! " |
| 7 | And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. | Et le prenant par la main droite, il le souleva. A l'instant les plantes de ses pieds et ses chevilles devinrent fermes; |
| 8 | And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God. | d'un bond il fut debout, et il marchait, et il entra avec eux dans le temple, marchant, sautant et louant Dieu. |
| 9 | And all the people saw him walking and praising God: | Tout le peuple le vit qui marchait et qui louait Dieu. |
| 10 | And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. | Ils le reconnaissaient comme étant celui-là qui s'asseyait près de la Belle Porte du temple pour (demander) l'aumône, et ils furent remplis d'étonnement et de stupeur pour ce qui lui était arrivé. |
| 11 | And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's, greatly wondering. | Or, comme il tenait Pierre et Jean, tout le peuple accourut vers eux au portique dit de Salomon, pris de stupeur. |
| 12 | And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk? | Voyant cela, Pierre s'adressa au peuple : "Israélites, pourquoi vous étonnez-vous de cela ? Et pourquoi tenez-vous les yeux fixés sur nous comme si c'était par notre propre puissance ou par notre piété que nous l'eussions fait marcher ? |
| 13 | The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. | Le Dieu d'Abraham, d'Isaac et de Jacob, le Dieu de nos pères, a glorifié son serviteur Jésus, que vous avez livré et que vous avez renié devant Pilate, alors qu'il était d'avis de le relâcher. |
| 14 | But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you; | Mais vous, vous avez renié le Saint et le Juste, et vous avez sollicité la grâce d'un meurtrier. |
| 15 | And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses. | Vous avez fait mourir le chef de la vie, que Dieu a ressuscité des morts : de quoi nous sommes témoins. |
| 16 | And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. | C'est par la foi en son nom que son nom a raffermi celui que vous voyez et que vous connaissez; et la foi qui (vient) par lui a donné à celui-ci, devant vous tous, cette parfaite guérison. |
| 17 | And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers. | Et maintenant, frères, je sais bien que vous avez agi par ignorance, ainsi que vos magistrats, |
| 18 | But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. | mais Dieu a accompli ainsi ce qu'il avait prédit par la bouche de tous les prophètes, que son Christ souffrirait. |
| 19 | Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. | Repentez-vous donc et convertissez-vous, pour que vos péchés soient effacés, |
| 20 | And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: | de façon que des temps de rafraîchissement viennent d'auprès du Seigneur, et qu'il envoie le Christ qui vous a été destiné, Jésus, |
| 21 | Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. | que le ciel doit recevoir jusques aux temps du rétablissement de toutes choses, dont Dieu a parlé autrefois par la bouche de ses saints prophètes. |
| 22 | For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. | Moïse d'une part a dit : Le Seigneur notre Dieu vous suscitera d'entre vos frères un prophète comme moi; vous l'écouterez en tout ce qu'il vous dira. |
| 23 | And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. | Et quiconque n'écoutera pas ce prophète sera exterminé du peuple. |
| 24 | Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. | Et, d'autre part, tous les prophètes, depuis Samuel et les autres à la suite, tous ceux qui ont parlé ont aussi annoncé ces jours-là. |
| 25 | Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. | Vous êtes, vous, les fils des prophètes et de l'alliance que Dieu a conclue avec vos pères, lorsqu'il a dit à Abraham : Et en ta postérité seront bénies toutes les familles de la terre. |
| 26 | Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities. | C'est à vous premièrement que Dieu, ayant suscité son serviteur, l'a envoyé pour vous bénir, en détournant chacun de vous de ses iniquités. |
