| 9 | And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel hath spoken to him, let us not fight against God. | Il y eut donc une grande clameur. Et les Scribes du parti des Pharisiens se levant, disputaient et disaient: Nous ne trouvons aucun mal en cet homme, et si un esprit ou un ange lui a parlé, ne combattons point contre Dieu. | Si fece allora un grande clamore. Gli scribi del partito dei farisei, alzatisi, protestavano con forza e dicevano: Noi non troviamo nulla di male in quest'uomo; e se uno spirito o un angelo gli avesse parlato? | 10 | And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle. | Et comme une grande dispute s'était engagée, le tribun, craignant que Paul ne fût mis en pièces par eux, commanda que les soldats descendissent, pour l'enlever du milieu d'eux, et le conduire dans la forteresse. | Ora siccome il dissenso andava aumentando, il tribuno, per timore che Paolo fosse fatto a pezzi da loro, ordinò ai soldati di scendere e di portarlo via dal loro mezzo, e di ricondurlo nella fortezza. |
| 11 | And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome. | La nuit suivante, le Seigneur étant venu à lui, lui dit: Paul, aie bon courage; car, comme tu as rendu témoignage à Jérusalem de ce qui me concerne, il faut aussi que tu rendes témoignage à Rome. | La notte seguente, il Signore si presentò a lui e disse: Paolo, coraggio, perché come tu hai reso testimonianza di me in Gerusalemme, così bisogna che tu la renda anche a Roma. |
| 12 | And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. | Lorsqu'il fut jour, quelques Juifs formèrent un complot, et firent des imprécations contre eux-mêmes, en disant qu'ils ne mangeraient ni ne boiraient qu'ils n'eussent tué Paul. | Quando fu giorno, certi Giudei tramarono una congiura obbligandosi con giuramento esecratorio a non mangiare né bere, finché non avessero ucciso Paolo. |
| 13 | And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy. | Ils étaient plus de quarante qui avaient fait cette conjuration. | Erano più di quaranta quelli che avevano fatto questa congiura. |
| 14 | And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul. | Et ils s'adressèrent aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux Anciens, et leur dirent: Nous nous sommes engagés avec des imprécations contre nous-mêmes, à ne rien manger, que nous n'ayons tué Paul. | Essi si presentarono ai capi dei sacerdoti e agli anziani e dissero: Noi ci siamo impegnati con giuramento di non assaggiare alcuna cosa, finché non abbiamo ucciso Paolo. |
| 15 | Now therefore ye with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you to morrow, as though ye would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, or ever he come near, are ready to kill him. | Vous donc, maintenant, avec le Sanhédrin, dites au tribun de le faire descendre demain au milieu de vous, comme si vous deviez vous informer plus exactement de son affaire; et nous sommes prêts à le tuer avant qu'il approche. | Or dunque voi con il sinedrio fate una petizione al tribuno perché domani ve lo riconduca, come se voleste indagare più a fondo sul suo caso, e noi, prima che si avvicini, saremo pronti ad ucciderlo. |
| 16 | And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul. | Mais le fils de la soeur de Paul, ayant entendu ce complot, vint, et étant entré dans la forteresse, en informa Paul. | Ma il figlio della sorella di Paolo, venuto a conoscenza dell'agguato corse alla fortezza e, entrato, lo riferì a Paolo. |
| 17 | Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he hath a certain thing to tell him. | Et Paul, ayant appelé un des centeniers, lui dit: Mène ce jeune homme vers le tribun, car il a quelque chose à lui rapporter. | Allora Paolo, chiamato a sé uno dei centurioni, disse: Conduci questo giovane dal tribuno, perché ha qualcosa da comunicargli. |
| 18 | So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto thee, who hath something to say unto thee. | Le centurion l'ayant pris, le mena vers le tribun, et lui dit: Le prisonnier Paul, m'ayant appelé, m'a demandé de t'amener ce jeune homme, qui a quelque chose à te dire. | Egli dunque lo prese, lo condusse dal tribuno e disse: Paolo, quel prigioniero, mi ha chiamato e mi ha pregato di condurti questo giovane, che ha qualcosa da dirti. |
| 19 | Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that thou hast to tell me? | Et le tribun, le prenant par la main, et l'ayant tiré à part, lui demanda: Qu'as-tu à m'annoncer? | Allora il tribuno, presolo per mano, lo condusse in disparte e domandò: Che cosa hai da riferirmi?. |
| 20 | And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire thee that thou wouldest bring down Paul to morrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly. | Il dit: Les Juifs sont convenus de te demander de faire descendre demain Paul dans le Sanhédrin, comme s'ils voulaient s'informer plus exactement de son affaire. | Egli disse: I Giudei si sono accordati per chiederti che domani tu conduca Paolo giù nel sinedrio, come se volessero investigare più a fondo il suo caso. |
| 21 | But do not thou yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from thee. | Mais ne te fie point à eux; car plus de quarante d'entre eux lui dressent des embûches, et se sont engagés avec des imprécations contre eux-mêmes, à ne manger ni boire qu'ils ne l'aient tué; et maintenant ils sont prêts, attendant ta réponse. | Perciò tu non dar loro ascolto, perché più di quaranta uomini di loro, stanno in agguato per prenderlo, essendosi impegnati con un voto di non mangiare né bere, finché non l'abbiano ucciso; ed ora sono pronti, aspettando che tu lo permetta loro. |
| 22 | So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See thou tell no man that thou hast shewed these things to me. | Le tribun renvoya le jeune homme, après lui avoir recommandé de ne dire à personne qu'il lui eût donné cet avis. | Il tribuno dunque licenziò il giovane, ordinandogli di non palesare ad alcuno che gli avesse fatto sapere queste cose. |
| 23 | And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night; | Et ayant appelé deux des centeniers, il leur dit: Tenez prêts deux cents soldats, soixante et dix cavaliers et deux cents archers, pour aller jusqu'à Césarée dès la troisième heure de la nuit. | Poi, chiamati due centurioni, disse loro: Tenete pronti fin dalle ore tre della notte duecento soldati, settanta cavalieri e duecento lancieri, per andare fino a Cesare. |
| 24 | And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor. | Préparez aussi des montures, afin de faire monter Paul, et de le conduire en sûreté au gouverneur Félix. | Disse loro ancora di tenere pronte delle cavalcature per farvi montare su Paolo e condurlo sano e salvo dal governatore Felice. |
| 25 | And he wrote a letter after this manner: | Il écrivit une lettre, ainsi conçue: | Egli scrisse pure una lettera di questo tenore: |
| 26 | Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sendeth greeting. | Claude Lysias, au très excellent gouverneur Félix, salut! | Claudio Lisia, all'eccellentissimo governatore Felice, salute. |
| 27 | This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman. | Les Juifs s'étaient saisis de cet homme et allaient le tuer, lorsque survenant avec la garnison, je l'ai tiré de leurs mains, ayant appris qu'il était Romain. | Quest'uomo era stato preso dai Giudei e stava per essere da loro ucciso, quando io sopraggiunsi con i soldati e lo liberai, avendo inteso che era cittadino romano. |
| 28 | And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council: | Or, voulant savoir le motif pour lequel ils l'accusaient, je l'ai fait descendre dans leur Sanhédrin. | Volendo poi sapere la colpa di cui l'accusavano, l'ho condotto nel loro sinedrio. |
| 29 | Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds. | Et j'ai trouvé qu'il est accusé sur des questions de leur loi, mais qu'il n'est chargé d'aucun crime qui mérite la mort ou la prison. | Ho così trovato che era accusato per questioni relative alla loro legge e che non c'era in lui alcuna colpa degna di morte né di prigione. |
| 30 | And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent straightway to thee, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before thee what they had against him. Farewell. | Et comme on m'a dénoncé des embûches que les Juifs lui avaient dressées, je te l'ai aussitôt envoyé, en ordonnant à ses accusateurs de dire devant toi ce qu'ils ont contre lui. Adieu. | Quando poi mi fu riferito dell'agguato che i Giudei tendevano a quest'uomo, te l'ho subito mandato, ordinando pure ai suoi accusatori di esporre davanti a te le rimostranze che hanno contro di lui. | 31 | Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris. | Les soldats prirent donc Paul, selon l'ordre qu'ils avaient reçu, et le menèrent de nuit à Antipatris. | I soldati dunque, secondo ch'era stato loro ordinato, presero in consegna Paolo e lo condussero di notte ad Antipàdride. |

| 33 | Who, when they came to Caesarea and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him. | Les cavaliers étant arrivés à Césarée, et ayant remis la lettre au gouverneur, lui présentèrent aussi Paul. | Quelli giunti a Cesarea e consegnata la lettera al governatore, gli presentarono anche Paolo. |
| 34 | And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia; | Et le gouverneur l'ayant lue, demanda de quelle province était Paul; et ayant appris qu'il était de Cilicie, | Dopo aver letto la lettera, il governatore domandò a Paolo di quale provincia fosse; e, saputo che era della Cilicia, |
| 35 | I will hear thee, said he, when thine accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall. | Il lui dit: Je t'entendrai quand tes accusateurs seront venus.
