| 5 | As also the high priest doth bear me witness, and all the estate of the elders: from whom also I received letters unto the brethren, and went to Damascus, to bring them which were there bound unto Jerusalem, for to be punished. | Comme le souverain sacrificateur m'en est témoin, et tout le conseil des Anciens. Ayant même reçu d'eux des lettres pour les frères, j'allai à Damas, afin d'amener aussi liés à Jérusalem ceux qui y étaient, pour qu'ils fussent punis. | come mi sono testimoni il sommo sacerdote e tutto il sinedrio, degli anziani, dai quali avendo anche ricevuto lettere per i fratelli, mi recavo a Damasco per condurre prigionieri a Gerusalemme anche quelli che erano là, perché fossero puniti. |

And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do. | Alors je dis: Seigneur, que ferai-je? | 11 | And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus. | Et comme je n'y voyais point à cause de l'éclat de cette lumière, ceux qui étaient avec moi, me menèrent par la main, et j'allai à Damas. | Ora, siccome io non vedevo nulla per lo splendore di quella luce, fui condotto per mano da quelli che erano con me, e così entrai a Damasco. |

| 14 | And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth. | Et il me dit: Le Dieu de nos pères t'a destiné à connaître sa volonté, à voir le Juste, et à entendre les paroles de sa bouche. | Poi aggiunse: "Il Dio dei nostri padri ti ha preordinato a conoscere la sua volontà, a vedere il Giusto e a udire una voce dalla sua bocca. |

| 16 | And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. | Et maintenant, que tardes-tu? | 22 | And they gave him audience unto this word, and then lifted up their voices, and said, Away with such a fellow from the earth: for it is not fit that he should live. | Ils l'écoutèrent jusqu'à cette parole; mais alors ils élevèrent leurs voix, disant: Ote du monde un pareil homme; car il ne devrait pas vivre. | Essi lo ascoltarono fino a questo punto; poi alzarono la voce, dicendo: Togli dal mondo un tale uomo, perché non è degno di vivere!. |
| 23 | And as they cried out, and cast off their clothes, and threw dust into the air, | Et comme ils criaient, et secouaient leurs vêtements, et lançaient la poussière en l'air, | Siccome essi gridavano, gettando via le loro vesti e lanciando polvere in aria, |
| 24 | The chief captain commanded him to be brought into the castle, and bade that he should be examined by scourging; that he might know wherefore they cried so against him. | Le tribun commanda qu'il fût mené dans la forteresse, et ordonna qu'on lui donnât la question par le fouet, afin de savoir pour quel sujet ils criaient ainsi contre lui. | il tribuno comandò che Paolo fosse condotto nella fortezza, ordinando di interrogarlo a colpi di flagelli al fine di sapere per quale motivo gridavano così contro di lui. |
| 25 | And as they bound him with thongs, Paul said unto the centurion that stood by, Is it lawful for you to scourge a man that is a Roman, and uncondemned? | Mais quand ils l'eurent lié avec des courroies, Paul dit au centenier qui était présent: Vous est-il permis de fouetter un citoyen romain, sans qu'il soit condamné? | Ma, quando lo ebbero disteso con le cinghie, Paolo disse al centurione che era presente: Vi è lecito flagellare un cittadino romano, non ancora condannato?. |
| 26 | When the centurion heard that, he went and told the chief captain, saying, Take heed what thou doest: for this man is a Roman. | Le centenier ayant entendu cela, alla le rapporter au tribun, en disant: Prends garde à ce que tu feras; car cet homme est Romain. | Udito questo, il centurione andò a riferirlo al tribuno, dicendo: Che cosa stai facendo? Quest'uomo è un cittadino romano!. |
| 27 | Then the chief captain came, and said unto him, Tell me, art thou a Roman? He said, Yea. | Le tribun venant donc vers Paul, lui dit: Dis-moi, es-tu Romain? Et il répondit: Oui. | Il tribuno allora si recò da Paolo e gli chiese: Dimmi, sei tu un cittadino romano?. Egli disse: Sì, lo sono. |
| 28 | And the chief captain answered, With a great sum obtained I this freedom. And Paul said, But I was free born. | Le tribun reprit: J'ai acheté fort cher cette bourgeoisie. Et moi, dit Paul, je la tiens de ma naissance. | Il tribuno rispose: Io ho acquistata questa cittadinanza mediante una grande somma di denaro. Paolo disse: Io invece l'ho di nascita. |
| 29 | Then straightway they departed from him which should have examined him: and the chief captain also was afraid, after he knew that he was a Roman, and because he had bound him. | Ceux donc qui devaient lui donner la question se retirèrent aussitôt de lui; et le tribun lui-même eut peur, voyant qu'il était Romain, et qu'il l'avait fait lier. | Allora quelli che lo dovevano interrogare si allontanarono subito da lui; e lo stesso tribuno, avendo saputo che egli era cittadino romano, ebbe paura perché lo aveva fatto legare. |
| 30 | On the morrow, because he would have known the certainty wherefore he was accused of the Jews, he loosed him from his bands, and commanded the chief priests and all their council to appear, and brought Paul down, and set him before them. | Le lendemain, voulant savoir au vrai pour quel sujet il était accusé des Juifs, il le fit délier, et ordonna aux principaux sacrificateurs et à tout le Sanhédrin de se réunir, puis faisant descendre Paul, il le plaça au milieu d'eux. | Or il giorno seguente, volendo sapere con certezza il motivo per cui egli era accusato dai Giudei, lo sciolse dai legami e ordinò ai capi dei sacerdoti e a tutto il sinedrio di venire. Poi, condotto giù Paolo, lo presentò davanti a loro. |
